I ordered mine today. So excited, I've never had one before.

OP posts:
SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 09/11/2017 22:30

Why are they so good? Was offered one today with a purchase for £35 and didn't bother... Should I have got one?

Crusoe · 09/11/2017 22:31

I’ve got one thanks to my lovely Mum. Hope it’s as good as last year.

BlueEyedWonder · 09/11/2017 22:37

Loved it last year so ordered it again this year.

My husband says “flogging free samples to women is genius” Grin

Stinkbomb · 09/11/2017 22:46

Ordered!

Blerg · 09/11/2017 22:57

I just splurged, completely out of character. I rarely even wear makeup or do beauty stuff but I’m losing weight and want to feel a bit better presented.

Hope it’s not too massive or DH will think I’ve gone mad. He spent £100 on a book the other day though...

CanIBuffalo · 09/11/2017 23:02

Ordered mine today. I haven't had a calendar since I was little so I'm very excited.

Xmasbaby11 · 09/11/2017 23:07

I ordered mine today. I plan to open it day by day. I can't remember what's in it and hope it's mostly useful!

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 09/11/2017 23:14

Ok then...

twilightcafe · 09/11/2017 23:19

I'm going to pass this year. I love the calendar, but I've got too many samples from last year (and the year before)_Blush

Butterymuffin · 09/11/2017 23:22

I'm going to try and get one in store tomorrow, and order it online if not. I've never had one of theirs before so it's all new to me and I'm excited! I am a wait-and-open-each-day person so it'll be saved till 1 Dec.

Sentimentallentil · 09/11/2017 23:27

I got one. I’m so excited.

I have a wax melt calender, a yoga video calendar and a m&s one.

December is going to be so good!

I’m going to to have to ask my dh to hide the m&s one though.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/11/2017 23:41

I had intended getting one but I had a look at the list of contents and decided that I didn't really need some random make-up that may not be colours I would choose or any body lotions etc.

Me too. Was very tempted but then in total it would be costing me £70 as i dont really want anything from M&S and didnt know how much I would use the things inside anyway. My skin is also becoming a little reactive so not sure the products would suit me and I have a routine.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 10/11/2017 00:35

Wow...

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 10/11/2017 06:30

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower I bought it because there are great products included which to buy on their own would cost as much as the whole calendar itself. Some are tester size but there are full size items too.

Last year's one gave me the opportunity to use products that I wouldn't have gone out and bought off my own bat (out of ignorance or not wanting to spend €£€£ in case I didn't like them).

To answer your question, yes, I took the offer up for the reasons above but I was with a friend who could have and didn't bother because it's not her thing. Horses for courses I suppose!

Here's an online article about it:

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/11/2017 06:31

I've just ordered one off the back of this thread. Never had one before. Very exciting,

Intomyarms · 11/11/2017 01:03

I'm currently looking at this online. In my basket are some kid's clothes but does anyone know what is the process if the kid's clothes don't suit. I'm unsure about the colour of one of the items, it could be a very different pink in reality to the only pink that suits my DD. If she doesn't like it, do I need to return the advent calender with it?

teta · 11/11/2017 09:38

I've just tried to order this along with some knickers.Apparently everything I ordered is out of stock !!! Including the advent calender. But they are all showing availability online.
M&S get your bloody act together .

teta · 11/11/2017 09:53

I managed to reorder using different knickers.Has there been a run on Cashmere and Silk knickers today for some reason?

HolgerDanske · 11/11/2017 10:16

I bought one yesterday. I like being able to try new things and it looked like there were quite a few nice items. My make up collection is running low ATM so the mascaras will come in handy, plus the lipsticks and nail varnishes are always nice.

miffy2 · 11/11/2017 10:47

I ordered mine the other day. I wanted new cleansing cloths from Emma Hardie (my favourite) and I got a sweater that will go perfectly with 2 or 3 skirts in my wardrobe.

Last year I was ridiculously pleased at having a small thing to look forward to every morning with my breakfast (December being a stressful enough month) so for that alone it is worth it. I used about 60-70% of the items in the box and gifted the rest or swapped with my friend for things from her box.

BringMeTea · 11/11/2017 10:54

OP you can return your purchase and keep the calendar. I did it last year. (Not to scam them, a genuine return).

twilightcafe · 11/11/2017 15:49

I cracked... Blush

Well, DS needed new school shoes...

Sentimentallentil · 11/11/2017 16:14

Well that was disappointing.

I went to pick up my order today and they had everything but the advent calendar, there was literally hundreds in store but I wasn’t allowed to take one of them and have to wait for the one I’ve ordered to be delivered.
So irritating that I have to make two trips into town as well :-(

Rachie1986 · 11/11/2017 17:30

Please please stop giving spoilers as to the contents of the advent calendar, some of us deliberately haven't looked at what's in it as want a surprise in Dec!

Nanasueathome · 11/11/2017 17:36

I ordered M&S advent calendar on line and went into the store to collect it today
They had loads still available
The assistant could not find my calendar with the delivery stuff so gave me one from off the shelf
They must have hundreds still in the stores
