Pretty or granny?

This isn't quite as bubblegum pink as it looks but do the stars and sequins and pearls on the neck make it a bit "granny trying to be fun"?
As an aside, why do even expensive ranges (this isn't) only put the decorations on the front? It can make things look cheap.

It would be 100% granny on me, as I'm 41.

If 16yo DD wore it, it would probably look very cool.

LoadsaBlusher · 21/10/2017 16:08

Totally depends on how it is styled

With rolled up jeans , roll up the sleeves a bit , big hop earrings and cool hi tops then could be funky

With black bootcut trousers and boots could be very frumpy

MagicFajita · 21/10/2017 16:09

Looks like something Mary Berry would wear.

Madbengalmum · 21/10/2017 16:09

No, granny, sorry

ZaraW · 21/10/2017 16:23

It's granny.

Nanasueathome · 21/10/2017 16:24

I’m 65 and I wouldn’t wear that
More suited to mid 80 year olds.....

Whisky2014 · 21/10/2017 16:26

I'm 31 and think it would look good on me however, I don't like stars. Love the colour though!

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/10/2017 16:28

Granny on me, unless I styled it very carefully and its not nice enough for me to bother doing that, I'm 39.

RhonaRugMuncherr · 21/10/2017 16:29

My 70 year old nan would love it. She also adores all this embroidery stuff which is why I don't wear it(!)

Laska5772 · 21/10/2017 16:30

Granny. I wouldn't wear it and I am a granny! Grin

SierraFerrara · 21/10/2017 16:32

Ok. Thank you all.
I WILL get it right at some point.

Is this blue cardie also "granny" as well then? Now I'm doubting myself
I love the colour and it's a cardie to so more flexible than a jumper?

Step away from the cardi.
The jumper is marginally better, and its hideous.

MagicFajita · 21/10/2017 16:41

The shape is nice , I have a few from Oasis in that style that I wear with dresses or skinnies. The beading around the neck is a bit Mary Berry though.

SierraFerrara · 21/10/2017 16:42

Maybe I should just embrace my inner granny.

AnaViaSalamanca · 21/10/2017 16:52

depends on your size. If you have big boobs it would look matronly.

both would be nice with leather leggings though.

cardoon · 21/10/2017 16:56

The pink one is little girl, the cardigan granny

LaurieFairyCake · 21/10/2017 17:01

The jumper is not granny if it’s worn by a young thing coolly. It would look matronly on giant titted old me!

ForeverTuesdayMorning · 21/10/2017 18:19

Rest home chic. Sorry OP

Looserwoman · 21/10/2017 18:22

I think the colour doesn't help.

lurkingfromhome · 21/10/2017 18:24

They're both dreadful. The colours are hideous.l for one thing. You can definitely find better.

EdgarAllanPO · 21/10/2017 18:27

Sierra needs an intervention.

Sorry op Grin

PickAChew · 21/10/2017 18:28

The pink top could go either way but the blue one is granny through and through.

EdgarAllanPO · 21/10/2017 18:30

What style do you like?
There is so much beautiful knit wear at the moment it won't be too hard to find something that speaks to you.

GoGoGazelle · 21/10/2017 18:30

I love it Blush but would wear as someone upthread advised (rolled up skinnies, hi tops etc)
