Arghh, getting a small amount of Juvaderm in my top lip on the 9th October to even up my lips as my bottom lip is quite a lot bigger than the top.

Only problem is I'm a compete wuss with pain and hate needles (think cry when I have to have a blood test!)

Anyone here had them? Do they really hurt?

Op I was totally the same as you, ummed and ahhed about it for ages, booked and cancelled appointments and then finally plucked up the courage to have 0.5ml done in my top lip (bottom lip always loads bigger) and haven't looked back.
Like you I hate needles and pain etc but it's soooo worth it!!
Mine is subtle but I like it. Picture attached.
Please ignore the idiots that post on here missing the point entirely! They are keyboard mood hoovers who like to inject misery on every post they can 😂

Photo attached now!

Hazysummerevenings · 07/10/2017 08:11

Oh god, now I'm regretting cancelling! I was only going to have 0.5ml, perhaps I should've just gone ahead Sad

OP if you have a nice Cupid's bow I would check you don't lose it.

Airbiscuits · 07/10/2017 08:36

I had a nice Cupid's bow, and now it's even better.
The doctor who did it was very careful to make sure of that.

It's now about 15 hours since I had it done and it's only slightly sore if I poke my lip.

Airbiscuits · 07/10/2017 08:37

Remember they can dissolve it if you hate it. And it doesn't last anyway.

Alittlepotofrosie · 07/10/2017 08:53

Op if you're not sure then why not just shelve the idea for a month, then think about it with a fresh mind.

Its your face. I had laser eye surgery done and never regretted but im sure if someone started a thread about it then they'd get told they're just fine as they are and everyone trying to put them off. But it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If you want it, go for it.

Tinkerbellwould · 07/10/2017 09:28

My Cupid now looks better now, it doesn't look odd at all and as the other pp said, if you really don't like it they can dissolve it for you.
If you want it done then just do it - chances are you will kick yourself for not having it done sooner like me :)

Peanutbuttercheese · 07/10/2017 09:36

I just really want to ask why you felt the need for cosmetic surgery it's not a criticism just really look within yourself. Forget the simple answer that you think it would look better ask yourself why you are fiaxating on something about your physical appearance.

Whatever you decide to do I wish you the best op but any unecessary medical procedure is never a good idea.

capercaillie · 07/10/2017 09:38

Easy. Don't do it.

CarlHickbread · 07/10/2017 10:03

Tinkerbell- I really think your lips look nicer in the before pic, the shape is lovely

So many of my fiends have had their lips done and personally I don’t think any of them look better for it. If anything it’s changed their whole face and it looks a bit odd.

Whisky2014 · 07/10/2017 10:17

Can we see a pic of your lips OP?

I know a girl who is 22 that just had it done. I just felt really sad that at 22 she feels the need to enhance herself like this. I also think that once you get it done you will get used to that look and so will continue to get it done, always wanting more and thusly, ruining your face because it will get more and more extreme. Look at all the older celebs whose faces are wrecks, I'm sure it's because they push for that little but more as they as so used to the filled look becoming "normal".

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/10/2017 10:29

Tinkerbell- I really think your lips look nicer in the before pic, the shape is lovely I do too, they're a beautiful shape.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 07/10/2017 10:55

OP - you are obviously not 100% about having this procedure so I would agree with the poster who recommended leaving it for a month.

We obviously all have different opinions on what 'looks good' and they are your lips so ultimately if you like how people look after having lip fillers and think it will make you feel better about yourself then go ahead.

Personally I think they look 'odd' and even when done well I wouldn't say they look natural or 'normal', I think Tinkerbell 's lips looked better before for example. But, it doesn't matter what I think, do things to please yourself not other people. I do think you are kidding yourself though if you think people won't be able to tell you've had fillers

TheLuminaries · 07/10/2017 11:51

I think you were wise to cancel, OP. Lip fillers rarely make anyone look better and often make people look odd when they talk. Avoid.

Tinkerbellwould · 07/10/2017 11:56

I've posted a photo of my lips 4 weeks post filler so it's settled down to exactly the same shape they were pre filler - just slightly bigger and more even.
I'm super happy.
I see nothing wrong in trying to be the best version of myself in can be. I feel better for having it done and truly believe it looks much nicer and more even than it did before.

So I have booked in to have lip filler :terrified:
Hazysummerevenings · 07/10/2017 12:33

These are my lips. As you can see, my top lip is noticeably smaller than my bottom. I bloody hope these aren't identifying. Think I might namechange anyway just to be safe.

So I have booked in to have lip filler :terrified:

Omg your lips are AMAZING! what on earth do you see that is wrong with them? Top lips are meant to be slightly thinner but yours can't be described as thin at all. I really wasn't expecting you to have such full lips.

I also think as your top lip is actually so much fuller than I was expecting I would really advise against it ( even more so!) as I think you'll end up with trout pout.

Whatever you do leave it for a while. You have lovely lips Smile

usersos · 07/10/2017 12:46

I was thinking that I might get fillers, then looked up your post and saw your pic.....I didn't read the thread and thought the pic was after you've had fillers!

Getout21 · 07/10/2017 12:47

I thought top lips were always meant to be smaller than bottom lips?

Alittlepotofrosie · 07/10/2017 12:49

Your lips are beautiful and perfectly proportioned as far as i can see. Your top lip is supposed to be thinner than your bottom isn't it? I wouldn't do a thing to those lips despite what i said upthread.

Jiggler · 07/10/2017 12:54

99 people out of 100 have a smaller top lip. It looks completely natural and I really don't think you need to do a thing to them!

PollyPerky · 07/10/2017 13:00

Top lips are usually smaller but there is no biological rule that they ARE! As you age the top lip gets smaller anyway.

OP You look incredibly young and incredibly pretty. My lips are about half the volume of yours. If mine were like yours I'd be ecstatic. I think you ought to leave well alone and wait till you are in your 50s or 60s before you do anything.

Tinkerbellwould · 07/10/2017 13:11

Lovely bottom lip. 0.5ml would fill your top lip nicely and not look fake at all.

RonaldMcDonald · 07/10/2017 13:26

I've had mine done and I think they're okay

So I have booked in to have lip filler :terrified:
