Opinions on these ankle boots?

Been looking for a pair of flat black ankle boots that I can pretty much pair with most of my outfits (not that they vary much tbh lol). I came across these and just wanted some opinions on these booties from New Look?

Opinions on these ankle boots?

Depends on your legs and taste really - I personally don't like them.

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 13:01

I have thin, long legs

OP posts:
Nuttynoo · 22/09/2017 13:02

They'd probably work then. Most things do on slim long legs!!

WeeM · 22/09/2017 13:02

I'm personally not a fan of them but they are from New Look so must be 'in'. I'm more into a biker style boot or a Chelsea boot.

Bluntness100 · 22/09/2017 13:03

I'm not really a fan either, I don't like the gold or the grey top, sorry. They are ok, but not more than that.

WeeM · 22/09/2017 13:03

If you have slim long legs anything will look good except boots that are too wide round your ankle I think.

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 13:08

Yeah I think that's the one think I'm not a huge fan of is the gold on them, I wish they were just black or something

27Harper · 22/09/2017 13:19

I think they're gorge! They'll go with most thinks and I don't think you can go wrong with a pair of black boots xx

Laladog · 22/09/2017 13:29

They're really nice. Very versatile too. I don't mind the gold things on them but I agree that they would look better in a different colour other than gold x

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 13:48

Thank you so far for your opinions! If anyone has any suggestions for flat black ankle boots (no heel) between maybe £30-£50 I would also really appreciate it. I literally have two pairs of shoes, one pair of worn out Swede ankle boots, one pair of simple black ballet pumps so I'm in need of another pair!

They look like site boots. Do they have a steel toe cap? Grin Sorry. There are so many lovely black ankle boots out there.

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 14:22

Funny 😋. Any recommendations?

I’ve just had a look on the ASOS app for you. You can put in filters (ankle boots, black, >£50 etc). There are loads of choices there from quite a few brands.

WeeM · 22/09/2017 14:55

Bit over budget but something like these:

I really like Clarks boots as they are always comfy.

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 14:56

Thank you I will def have a look on ASOS. I really need a new pair of boots!

OP posts:
PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 14:58

Thank you WeeM. Hmm i dont think they're really my style. Nevertheless I will have a look at Clark's and see if they're anything that I like 😊

OP posts:
PollyPerky · 22/09/2017 14:59

don't like, sorry. They look cheap.

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 15:01

No worries, I did ask for opinions and I appreciate your feedback. Not sure what cheap means however since I don't really buy shoes often at all

OP posts:
slippermaiden · 22/09/2017 15:02

I really don't like them, but doesn't mean you shouldn't wear them. I'd prefer a pair of dr martens.

hopsalong · 22/09/2017 15:08

I don't mind them at all but they have quite a lot going on, and wouldn't go with smarter outfits. If it's going to be your only pair, I would buy something plainer and in leather, like this Chelsea boot for £50 from H&M.

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 15:08

Not a fan of Doc Martin's. So far not a lot of love for these boots lol

OP posts:
TableMirror · 22/09/2017 15:23

I love boots but not a fan of those at all, I've just bought some ok ankle boots in the office sale for £22 which will last me this winter (to replace a £150 pair of Dune boots where the heel split beyond repair 😡)

PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 15:50

Wow I would be furious if I spent that much on a pair of boots and then the heel just fucked off! Really no love for the boots so far lol I must be a weirdo for liking them

OP posts:
PinkDonuts · 22/09/2017 16:10

While I appreciate your opinions, do you mind telling me why you don't like them? I'm not looking to wear them for formal occasions, and I mostly wear black skinny jeans. I'm 23. These are a very common style of boots so don't see how they look like workers boots?

I'm not looking for "expensive looking" shoes either, these are about £30 and I'm fine with that.

Again I welcome opinions and if you don't like them then fair enough but an explanation of why would help me understand

OP posts:
Gannetseatfish · 22/09/2017 16:14

I like them! Have a look at M&S not sure about the prices but they have a few of that vintage hiking boot style online. I have a similar pair (no gold though - not keen on that) from clarks last year and love them!
