Are All Saints leather jackets really worth It?

I am tempted. But 380 quid?! What makes them different/better to cheaper jackets. By cheaper I mean in the 100-150 range. I want a really good quality coat that'll last.

I have the one on the right in banana's picture. I love it- really soft leather & I wear it a lot. Agree with pp- I am usually a 12 but bought a 10 and it is a perfect fit.

PNGirl · 24/09/2017 00:21

They sometimes do 20% off everything but the Balfern, Cargo, and Bales in black continue from season to season so are never in their sale.

zippyswife · 24/09/2017 13:23

I got the cargo this time last year with 20% off. I actually came on to say that I've just found a photo from end of Sep last year of me trying it. I actually swapped it for anothe style (ink blue balfern- think it's discontinued) which was also 20%.

GissASquizz · 24/09/2017 19:24

I've just bought the bales in a 14. Normally a 12 but I couldn't get it done up unless I sized up. Worried now.

I used to work at All Saint in Bicester Village. It's always so much cheaper there so a lot of people would always be buying the jackets but I'd say they're worth it, although I wouldn't get one myself.

zippyswife · 24/09/2017 19:33

Is the outlet online as well? Is there only one in Bicester?

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 24/09/2017 22:22

Ok so for the Balfern - no use waiting for sales as it doesn't get discounted anyway?

Around what time in October do they get the sales?

Userlavender · 24/09/2017 22:24

I don't like them. The leather is soft but too thin and reminds me of the flimsy primark jackets. Nothing wrong with primark i buy things there just not leather. I think all saints is overrated.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 24/09/2017 22:28

I have BLK DNM leather jackets (that don't fit! Need to lose at least 20 pounds). Are they similar or far in quality?

PNGirl · 24/09/2017 22:35

My Bales is a 14 (I'm a 12) and it hasn't stretched in 2 years. I fit into a 12 in their other cuts.

Re the Balfern, there's a difference between their promos (mid season or whenever they want, usually 20% off everything) and their sales in which selected items can be up to half price. You're unlikely to find a black Balfern in the sale.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 24/09/2017 22:37

Ok, so it's possible to get it at 20% off then. I'll probably wait for it. Is it worth the full price, do you think? I have not seen an All Saints Leather Jacket in person (I live in Australia).

Pupsiecola · 24/09/2017 22:48

Do you think this type of leather jacket would suit an hourglass figure? Also, what do you think about Mint Velvet leather jackets?

I'm hankering after the All Saints oxblood Bales.

PNGirl · 25/09/2017 08:22

I had one similar that didn't suit me as all the flappy leather at the front didn't suit a large chest and smaller waist. I recently sold it.

I tried on a few last year but the closer I looked, the less I liked them. I don't remember the model names but they were too fussy for me and I thought some of the hardware looked quite cheap. There were other models online that might have been nicer but I was totally put off.

I also don't understand why they have such a good reputation for quality if some of them are stretching a whole size. I know leather gives but that's really poor.

bananafish81 · 25/09/2017 19:16

I popped into All Saints at the weekend to check out the Bales - it is definitely not the Belvedere renamed, sadly. There are some similarities, but as per the photos I posted up thread, it's quite a different style

Can't say I was wild about it in comparison to the old style, so am debating buying on on eBay just in case...I love it so, I can't bear the thought of something happening to mine and having to wear another jacket!

Figuring that as it's been discontinued in the future there are likely to be fewer up for resale than there are now, am I mad?!

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 26/09/2017 02:19

bananafish81

No, I'd do the same.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 26/09/2017 02:19

How is the leather of the Balfern? Is it very thin?

brogueish · 26/09/2017 23:18

I was at Gunwharf Quays today and they had the balfern in the outlet store there, ranging from 210-250ish, plus an extra 30% off. I didn't get one but thought of you lot.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 26/09/2017 23:51

Lucky! I wish I was there. But I'm so many miles away (Australia)

How is the leather of the Balfern?

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 26/09/2017 23:51

Is the balfern cropped?

Chunkamatic · 27/09/2017 00:00

As an alternative I can really recommend Muubaa leather jackets. I had an All saints one but ended up selling as it was the wrong cut for me. The quality is just as good, if not better and some great styles. As they are not so popular you can usually pick them up discounted online. I think they sell them in Harvey Nichols for trying on.

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 27/09/2017 02:04

I have a Muuba but the sleeves are 3/4s on my freakishly long limbs :/

brogueish · 27/09/2017 19:02

Sorry, only just seen this. The leather felt lovely, very soft, but I did wonder how durable it would be. One of them felt quite delicate (they had several different styles).
