Are All Saints leather jackets really worth It?

I am tempted. But 380 quid?! What makes them different/better to cheaper jackets. By cheaper I mean in the 100-150 range. I want a really good quality coat that'll last.

EarlessToothlessVagabond · 12/09/2017 18:37

Mine stretched .. I wish I'd bought a 10!!🙄🙄

Ladydepp · 12/09/2017 18:43

I love mine and managed to get it in a 30% off sale, possibly October 2 years ago. Given how much I've worn it I would happily pay full price.

zippyswife · 12/09/2017 19:47

I think they do an extra bit off the sale at Black Friday too. But that's a long time to wait.

affectionincoldclimate · 12/09/2017 20:16

To echo all other posters - yes!

I bought my first All Saints leather jacket in 2006 for a princely sum of £200. I wore it until 2015 (with many many comments about its awesomeness) when I finally bought another one (somehow massively more expensive at nearly twice the price) but I cannot bring myself to throw away the original despite it being very worn. Mind you, it still looks cool after all these years.

Pinkvici22 · 16/09/2017 18:37

I've done it! I've bought a black Bales....and I'm so excited!!

Now I want a pink Balfern Blush

imjessie · 16/09/2017 18:44

I'm debating selling my size 12 bales , it's too big really . I've only worn it once !🙄

bananafish81 · 16/09/2017 19:08

Thanks @mrsmildred

Although looking at the Bales it doesn't look quite like the Belvedere - it look from the photos like the Bales has a silver metalwork , and extra zip pockets

(comparing photos side by side)

How does the collar of the Bales sit? The photos seem to show that unless it's done up, it sits flat rather than a funnel neck. Sorry for interrogation!! Thanks in advance :)

I love love love mine. Got it at the Bicester Village outlet and only paid £130!!! Bargain for what it is. I also sized down a bit (mind you not massively, I'm a size 8-10 and would usually go for a 10 for coats/jackets but went with an 8 for the leather jacket).

mowgeli · 21/09/2017 22:27

Se sa I got mine a size up this time so I can wear a thick jumper under it! As you can see it's fairly baggy without one

EnidButton · 21/09/2017 22:57

Yours looks really nice Mowgli.

I was going to get one a couple of years ago but found they felt really heavy and kind of chunky? I guess it's the quality of the leather of something but I have a tote bag from All Saints and that's quite light and soft. Are all real leather jackets like that?

mowgeli · 21/09/2017 23:02

Enid yes it is a very heavy jacket, ideal for for the cold Autumn and winter (depending on how cold it gets) I adore mine.
I have another one from French connection which is a lot lighter but not nearly as nice.
I saw one in Jigsaw but they were foo big for me. I am a size 6 so it's hard to find a jacket.
I love the zips on the sleeves on my one and the belt doesn't go all the way round the back it's just two pieces one on each side so can't get lost unlike the French connection belt

EnidButton · 22/09/2017 01:46

Mowgli It does look lovely on you. Not at all bulky and you're tiny! I'm a size 10 and thought they might be too bulky. Maybe I need to try some more on.

Echoing what everyone else said. Mine is in excellent nick after three or four years, I'm contemplating another at some stage (having realised that there are only perhaps three months a year when I don't need a coat, so having a few options is A Good Thing). I also like that they often do a grey or pink or dark red - a bit different from black, but not too 'fun'.

imjessie · 22/09/2017 09:07

Size down everyone , mine stretched and is too big really 😞.. I wish I'd bought an 8 or 10 instead of a 12

zippyswife · 22/09/2017 19:42

Yes I should have sized down too! They told me to but I ignored the advice

mowgeli · 22/09/2017 19:50

I want to wear mine with jumpers under so have gone a size up.
If it gets too big I'll need a new one Grin

imjessie · 22/09/2017 19:58

They didn't tell me too And I'm bloody cross to be honest . I emailed them because I only wore it 2 times before it grew !!

Laquila · 22/09/2017 20:03

I have the Cargo and love it. It's the most expensive thing I've ever bought (even though I got it with 30% promo!) but I wear it a LOT, as it's very versatile and soooo soft. I've never had a leather jacket before that genuinely seemed to go with everything and that was the clincher for me - I just couldn't find a cheaper one that fitted the bill and would have got as much wear.

HerRoyalNotness · 22/09/2017 20:05

I bought one in the sale and it was beautiful. But I'd ordered the wrong size and by the time I sent it back they'd run out of my size Sad. I still don't have one as I can't remember the design to keep an eye out for another

HerRoyalNotness · 22/09/2017 20:09

Oh now I realise I maybe could have kept the 10 instead of trying for a 12. I'm normally a 10 in tops but go for a 12
In coats. Typical

WomblingThree · 22/09/2017 21:01

I’d be seriously pissed off if I spent that much money and it was unwearable after a few wears. They obviously get away with it though because people keep buying them!

ReallyConvolutedCareerHistory · 23/09/2017 21:39

Do they put all styles on sale? I really want the Balfern.
