To Ugg or not to Ugg?

I'm having an internal debate as to whether to get a pair or not ?
Never owned a pair but always liked the look of them, but are they worth the price?
Then I don't know whether to get the knitted ones or go for the classic style...
So, are they worth it? Or are there any better brands you would recommend?

They're ugly, dated and expensive.

BUT I wouldn't part with my grey Baileys if you paid me a million £.

I bought my first Uggs (classic, tall in black) last winter. I love them! They are not chavvy at all, they are slimmer than past years' models (nde design) AND they are waterproof (again unlike previous models). It was like walking on warm clouds, even when temperature fell at -10C (and stayed there). I got lots of compliments too. I think it's how you style them, if they suit your legs etc. But this is true for all shoes.
I'd say buy them! Anything apart the cardi ones :) personal dislike.

PS. most people used to wear cheap knockoffs that are ugly/bulky/mishappen. Hence the chavvy connection I guess.

I swore years ago to never buy a pair - ugly and chavvy. In a fit of rebellion against xh who hated them even more than I did I bought a pair a couple of years ago. I am a total convert and now have cozy toes in my ugly, chavvy, rebellious state and I'm sooooooo much happier.

I have the Ugg Kristin boots in chestnut. I wear on the coldest dry days with skinnys and a polo neck. Not going to set the fashion world alight but I like them.

I was on a city break back in February where the temperature was -6. My feet were cosy and warm. The Ugg hating husband's feet were not Grin

Celtic sheepskin are my favourites (much nicer than uggs). I have the really short ones and I wear them literally just to mooch about house in - perfect I love them!

They are incredibly ugly but keep feet so warm and cosy! My pair lasted seven years of frequent use and I miss them.

I'm debating this at the moment. First baby is due in November and they seem like they would be so easy to just shove on and very cosy.
Will be reading this thread to check out the alternative options but I'm definitely getting some sort of warm, cosy, slip on shoe boot!

Ahhh I never learn to read posts before I make one of my own!

Literally just posted a similar thread about what to choose seeing as I'm totally disappointed with the uggs I bought. Oopsie.
