My 14yo is still happiest in PJs.Grin

MsMartini · 31/08/2017 15:56

Who isn't MI? Grin. dd usually puts them on as soon as she gets home and won't be going out again. My dc both took ages to get the hang of PJs - used to wear them to school sometimes and sleep in their "uniforms", as to the naked eye they were very similar (navy jersey shorts/trousers). Slack mum.....

motherinferior · 31/08/2017 20:29

In fact I am now stylishly attired in a pair of my mum's salwar trousers, and a baggy H&M linen Tshirt I found in the chazzer over a 'bralet'. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/09/2017 19:58

I have spent a fortune today on DD2's underpinnings. She never tells me when her bras are worn out. I've found one that is completely grey and another one held together by safety pins. 3 x30HH = £95

motherinferior · 01/09/2017 20:24

You're a more generous mother than I am

magimedi · 01/09/2017 22:28

I think you got away quite lightly, MrsS. 1 x 36DD = £38 for me!

She will thank you when she is older, she will be really grateful that you cared enough to get her the right size & not try to push her into 36D from M&S - (when I was 32 G) as did my dear (?) late mama.

motherinferior · 02/09/2017 07:04

30GG here and DD1 is 28F.

hattymattie · 02/09/2017 10:03

Wowsers Mrs S - DD2 is an E cup and has the biggest boobs in the family. I have bought her expensive bras in the sale though - primadonna. I think it is worth investing in a a couple of really good fitting bras and treating them like gold.

Those of us with smaller boobs just get M&S etc.

motherinferior · 02/09/2017 10:14

Hatty, I really recommend brastop and Figleaves clearance!

MrsWobble3 · 02/09/2017 10:24

All this expensive bra buying is completely outside my experience. I've just left the dds to get on with it with an occasional M&S purchase from me. But given that dd3 has the largest boobs in the family and is only a C I assume my neglect is unlikely to have caused any lasting damage.

MrsWobble3 · 02/09/2017 12:10

Just back from M&S. can't remember which if you was looking for a red and beige jumper but I think I saw it. If it is the one I saw then I didn't like it, a lot of unnecessary 'styling'.

magimedi · 02/09/2017 12:24

Mrs Wobble - you are wrongly named if C cup is the largest in your home. Grin

I may have to kill DH. I have just spent more than an hour cooking, cleaning the kitchen etc & he saunters in to announce that he has 'done the ironing'. It's only his bleeding shirts that get ironed. OK he did one pair of shorts of mine but...............

WTF do men have to make such a song & dance about domesticity? And, to be fair, DH is good & does pull his weight but I always have to be told about it.

Rant over!

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/09/2017 12:27

I get mine from Brastop or Debenhams, and will get her an extra one from their sale, now that we know the make and style that fits her well. I got a free bra at Bravissimo last time, as I had spent so much money there...

I found it impossible to buy them bras in France - the "normal" shops only go up to a C cup, and there was a rather terrifying shop with matronly large bras on rue de Courcelles, or Princesse Tam Tam, and that was it. And Princesse Tam Tam couldn't cope with 30J either. How to make your teenage daughter feel like a freak.

magimedi · 02/09/2017 12:33

And I have just noticed that I have splashed bleach on my t shirt & ruined it.

Is it too early for wine?

Cremolafoam · 02/09/2017 12:57

Magi I completely get you re men and chores. Dh is the same about the ironing. They have an inbuilt ploy that means they wind you u to the point where it's 'just easier if I do it' Dh could live in a slum so all the cleaning and tidying in the world is meaningless to him. I have often thought about living in a house next door, meeting for meals and having a spotless house I could waft about to my hearts content, leaving him to wallow in his own crap.

Day two of Holiday here. Off to the beach presently for a lovely long swim. Have been to the market and feasted on olives, bread, cheese and our friend's home grown muscat grapes 🍇 for lunch.in spite of feeling really worn out yesterday I didn't sleep at all. Banging heart, too hot, too cold, rumbling tummy, thirsty, spinning brain. Typical of all first nights on holiday. Grr.
And relaxxxxx

Magi, I reckon a lunchtime glass would be Civilised and European.

ChemoEnvy

motherinferior · 02/09/2017 14:04

CREMO even

IDismyname · 02/09/2017 17:40

As Promised - herewith recipes...

Apple Chilli Jelly It looks so pretty when made, am surprised they don't have a pic of it.

And...

Courgette Relish I play around with the spices, and add black mustard seeds instead of celery seeds

Sorry its taken me so long to get round to doing this.

Also apols - I have completely lost the ongoing plot on WA.

hattymattie · 02/09/2017 18:09

MM - have had several bleach related incidents. I now change into really old clothes before I go near the stuff as I'm so accident prone. Agree also on men and housework - to be fair DH is pretty good but am trying to educate DS who lolled around all yesterday afternoon whilst I was at work and despite hints about the overflowing ironing pile - his response was he didn't really know how to work the iron Hmm.

Crem - so glad the holiday is going well so far - I'm the same on the first night anywhere strange and rely on herbal Nytol and alcohol to get a good nights sleep.

Airborne - I find it really difficult to keep up with WA and am also crap at typing on my phone.

Have started up gym again - first session after the holidays - have really sore buttocks!!

bigTillyMint · 02/09/2017 20:06

Re housework, DHs jobs are
Putting the online shopping away
Cleaning up after meals
Putting the washing out to dry and bringing it in
Emptying the kitchen bin and taking recycling out
Mowing the tiny lawn
Locking up every night
He manages to do these without reminding and occasionally does extra stuff like pruning and erm....

bigTillyMint · 02/09/2017 20:07

Re WA, I dont think it matters - just jump in and chat as and when.

MsMartini · 03/09/2017 08:21

I agree. It's not as if our narrative structure is coherent....

IDismyname · 03/09/2017 08:51

I tend to start reading WA when there are lots of "Oh that's great news!!" Or "You must be delighted with the outcome"

Outcome?? What outcome...???

And then have to try and figure out what on earth is going on 😁

Boys back from (nekkid) fishing trip bearing one (i) fish. Kitchen draped with damp fishy paraphernalia. Or it was when I went to bed.

MsMartini · 03/09/2017 10:20

Yes, I know what you mean, Airborne, but it does usually get repeated if important. I doubt any of us fully keep up.

magimedi · 03/09/2017 11:20

So have most of the Crepeys moved to WA in favour of here? Haven't seen quite a few people here for sometime.

Just flicking through the paper & saw that Mel Brooks is 91!!! How can that be?
