Toenails - to paint or leave bare?

Are painted toes a bit brash? I'm considering going nail naked on holiday. Classier, right?

Brash? No can't say that's something I have ever thought. I tend to get shellac on mine that lasts 6 weeks. Never noticed anyone without there toe nails done on holiday last month and I obviously don't look at everyone's but I do tend to look as I'm a beauty therapist and just like checking out different nail styles for inspiration.

I don't think bare toenails look good unless you have super gorgeous foot model-esque feet.

Just never EVER french manicured toes.

Always get shellac on mine for hols. A really bright colour as well. Never considered it to be brash.

I hate getting my feet out when my toe nails aren't varnished and I'm generally unkempt. Toes look even more horrible otherwise.

I don't think anyone's nails look nicer naked than with colour on...

If you want some bling, go for mirror chrome powder! Is this what you'd call brash by the way?!

I am weird as I have painted toenails all year round apart from when I am on holiday when I go bare.

I love the way they get bleached by the sun - and I'm sure the sea, sand and sun does them good.

Just realised I never have no varnish on my toenails! Happy to leave fingernails bare through from time to time. No idea why.

I always go painted but I have a colleague who always go bare and I think it looks fine. So long as nails are short and super clean, it's definitely an option. Anything is better than chipped nails (retch)

I'm going against the grain to say I prefer bare but buffed and pedicured toes. Especially if feet aren't perfect. Bright varnish just draws more attention to misshapen feet.
I don't really mind though, wouldn't judge either way.

I never, ever have bare toenails, despite the fact I wear sandals about once a year. Feet skeeve me out, painted toes look slightly more bearable!

I agree with @SleightOfMind nail polish just draws attention to feet which are not the prettiest thing to look at. I do mine in winter though, but only for my benefit at home, I can't stand it flaking off when swimming on holiday, it looks so scruffy.

+1 for painted of course. The feet actually looks pale without them and specially on a holiday nails HAS to be painted.

Painted toes, the brighter the better for me. And with a decent topcoat can last for ages.

I generally prefer my nails bare - fingers and toes.

However since I did a half marathon earlier in the year my bog toenail is bruised. So have been wearing a hot pink polish to cover it.
