Want to go down the Pixie cut route again ...

But I'm not sure if I'm brave enough. I have had short hair before, 4 years ago I grew it out again and now have wavy, slightly curly on a good day, hair to my shoulders. I'm 3st heavier than when I had it last time so I'm worried my face will be too round and jowl'y (if that's a word). DH has also said he'd 'prefer me not too' as he didn't think it feminine (he's pretty good generally at never interfering with how I look). Really unsure as I did have times when I felt un-feminine but I had a 1 year old then and v little time to spend on myself, was tired. Now I have a 6 year old and some more time to myself to dress and do make up as well. Pic attached of 4 years ago and also of now.

It doesn't look like the same person! Lovely cut and colour in the short one. Go for it.

talonofthehawk · 08/08/2017 18:13

You look much younger and fresher with long hair.

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 08/08/2017 18:13

Honestly, I think your hair looks much younger and more modern long. Lovely wave.

Squashit · 08/08/2017 18:16

I think you suit the pixie more.

MagnumAddict · 08/08/2017 18:17

Think you suit darker hair with a bit of length, maybe go slightly longer than pixie as a compromise?

Honestly you look great either way and I would have never guessed about a 3 stone weight gain!

OhDearToby · 08/08/2017 18:18

I really like your hair now! The pixie did suit you though.

Sorry, that's not helpful.

Rainybo · 08/08/2017 18:20

I agree with (what I think) Magnum was saying - both cuts suit you but dark hair suits you more than the blonde.

PansyParkinson · 08/08/2017 18:25

You're gorgeous OP! I have to say, I do prefer your hair now.

Rachie1986 · 08/08/2017 18:28

I can only see the pixie cut photo :-(

Rachie1986 · 08/08/2017 18:29

Found both photos by using browser not app.

I think I prefer short. But both nice x

GinasGirl · 08/08/2017 18:52

Oh I really like your hair now! I think the length and wave is lovely. But maybe a bit darker? as the colour from the pixie cut really suited you.

MiniCooperLover · 08/08/2017 19:34

Thank you all, I feel quite blah at the moment and felt perkier with shorter and darker. Now I generally let it dry on its own so it keeps some wave or if I use the hairdryer it's just a bob. Hmm ....

What about short, but not as short as a pixie?

menacetosobriety · 08/08/2017 19:42

I love it short!

I made the same choice a while ago and find it is nice to have a style that is always there

The only pain is the really regular cuts and then if you do decide to grow it out it is that whole pain again

But I say I love it short still :)

Blazedandconfused · 08/08/2017 20:18

You have a pretty face- perfect for short hair

Agree with pp, short but not as short as pixie.

MissBabbs · 08/08/2017 20:22

What about trying something different - chin length with some reddish (not maroon/pink) colour?

Badweekjustgotworse · 08/08/2017 20:29

Ooh short for sure! I've just got mine all chopped off and love it! I've kept a bit of length on top and have an undercut shaved sides and back. Love it, so easy to do and the length on top gives it great versatility, I get way more looks than I used to with it long

MaryLennoxsScowl · 08/08/2017 20:33

I think the pixie looks amazing - way better than long hair. Are we all looking at the same pictures?! And, why does one need to look feminine, plus, he needs educated out of these regressive gender stereotypes.

All that said, I've just spent a year and a half growing out a pixie and it's been at least a year of bad hair. So there's that!

Skinfulnappies46 · 08/08/2017 22:21

What about this but keeping your dark hair?

Short is so chic and gorgeous! I think that cut really suited your eyes and the shape of your face.

FlorenceLyons · 08/08/2017 22:33

I think you look fabulous with it short. I recently did the same thing - went back to a pixie cut after having longer hair for years. I'm also a bit heavier (and a lot older!) than I was last time I had it short. I've found it looks better now with a little bit more length on top - still a pixie, but a bit more pushed to the side. I also feel like I need to wear make up for it to look good - but I always do anyway, so don't mind that.

MiniCooperLover · 08/08/2017 22:47

Thank you all. The in between styles wouldn't really work for me as I have very thick hair so it either needs to be at least chin length to weight it down or very short. I have a good hairdresser so will chat to him. I think DH is resigned to it happening. 😊

Honestly speaking, for me short hair looks really good and professional. I think its the color that makes the difference. Of course you have more feminine look now. Why not try changing the hair color to the dark tone to the existing hair length??
