How many bikini's is too many for an 11 day holiday?

Private villa, just me and my Partner. I spend most of the time in just the bottoms.

I know it's daft to take loads, but the trouble is I love pretty bikini's!

Take however many you damn well want to.

Not like bikini bottoms take up a lot of space, is it?

IHopeYourCakeIsShit · 19/07/2017 17:41

You can never have too many bikinis, you can however, have too many apostrophes Wink

Doobigetta · 19/07/2017 17:48

You only need two. I think when I've taken six before I've ended up not wearing my least favourite ones. But it's good to have a mix, I think. One that's either old or dark coloured, to wear when you're topping up fake tan. One that's a bit more robust and comfortable for proper snorkeling trips, if you're doing that. Different shapes are good so you don't get as many white marks.

MagdalenNoName · 19/07/2017 17:53

One is too many.

A one-piece is better for swimming.

In a private setting you can sunbathe nude or just wear everyday pants.

AnyFucker · 19/07/2017 17:54

One to wash, one to wear

eurochick · 19/07/2017 17:55

Two is right, do you always have a dry one.

DavetheCat2001 · 19/07/2017 18:10

I only have one, mainly because I've really struggled this year to find any that I like/want to buy Sad

LoupGarou · 19/07/2017 18:37

If I'm not travelling light I'd say one for each day and then maybe a few extras so that you can wear them all and have some room for spontaneity Grin. I don't tend to pack light for sun holidays, everything else I travel with cabin baggage only, sun holidays I like luxury Grin

Rioja123 · 19/07/2017 18:39

You mean bikinis

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 18:52

I currently have a few that I like and are good enough to get another holiday out of, but am trying to decide whether to keep the two beauts I ordered from Dorothy Perkins.

The post was just for fun really to see what others thought. I love a bit of variety and would get bored wearing the same couple of pairs for the whole holiday.

Thanks for the unrequested and unrelated critique of my grammar by the way. Thank goodness for the apostrophe police! Wink

All the ones that give you pleasure. The world will keep turning whether you take 2 or 50

MargeryFenworthy · 19/07/2017 18:56

Impossible to have too many

SinglePringle · 19/07/2017 18:57

I'v just come back from 12 days at a small hotel. I took and wore 6 bikinis. I'd wear one in the morning, hanging out at hotel pool. It gets wet. Then we'd often head down to the beach in the afternoon so I'd put on a dry one. Then I have one I wear early early morning when I swim lengths and no one else is about (bliss!).

LoupGarou · 19/07/2017 19:01

Yep, you definitely do need to take plenty, what if you get a bad case of stomach problems? You might go through quite a few then, and getting them washed and hung out takes up valuable relaxation time.
You need plenty so that even if you crap yourself multiple times you still have many to look good in. You need to keep the two new ones, they could be all that stand between you and disaster.

Plus bikini shopping is hard enough, keeping the two new ones is sensible, next time you go on holiday you may not be able to find any you like then you'll wish you had them. Yep, sensible.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/07/2017 19:05

One to wash and one to dry for me. I don't see bikinis the same way as I do clothes where ringing the changes is more interesting.

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 19:12

LoupGarou this holiday has cost us a small fortune so I shall be by that pool in a beautiful bikini with a G and T in hand, even if struck down with the worst recorded case of salmonella.....

I had actually already considered the 'accident' angle but didn't include in my post as didn't want to make it sound as if pooing myself on holiday was a regular occurrence (it isn't!).

Yes, I will of course be keeping the two new ones for the very reasons you've listed; I don't know why I even pretended to consider it.

Thanks for the chuckle Grin

You'll have plenty. But they hardly take up any space when packing so go for it.

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 19:15

That's one of the two I have DavetheCat2001.

The other is this - www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/zig-zag-bandeau-bikini-top-6469902?bi=0&ps=20&Ntt=bikini

They're both lovely.

dementedma · 19/07/2017 19:16

as i don't even own one and never have, I have no idea! two?

iismum · 19/07/2017 19:17

There is no correct number to take - take what you like. There is, however, a correct number of apostrophes to put into the word bikinis, and it's not the number you picked

Bostin · 19/07/2017 19:18

12 is too many

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 19:21

Thanks iismum, third person to completely unnecessarily point out my grammatical error and make me feel a little bit rubbish. Nice.

ooh dare you post a pic of you in the rainbow one Suomynona??

SinglePringle · 19/07/2017 19:22

Who's suggesting 12 Confused
