I have no shape, I just look like a big flowery barrel.

Sorry for the rubbish angle of pic.

Any suggestions as to what sort of frock would suit my shape.

Love your make up Grin

wifeyhun · 30/06/2017 19:51

Right mumsnet another pic found this in Evans feels nice and comfy on.

I know I need a decent black bra with side support to hold all my side boob fat, but is this ok for a wedding?

I really like that dress - suits you.

IWantABlueBanana · 30/06/2017 19:58

That's much better, the wrap was nice enough but just didn't give you any shape.

Is that your bra showing through though? Could you get one of those wee shaping dress thingies for underneath

wifeyhun · 30/06/2017 20:01

Yes it is white bra bluebanana, don't have a black one to hand, body shaping thing is a good idea.

IWantABlueBanana · 30/06/2017 20:24

Sorry didn't mean that like "for gad sake woman buy something to hold ya in" just that if its a bit see through, a dressy thing(cant bloody think what they are called) underneath may be more comfortable... especially if there's camera flashes on the go!

whirlycurly · 30/06/2017 20:25

That one! Smile

wifeyhun · 30/06/2017 20:35

I know you didn't mean that bluebanana :-)

allegretto · 30/06/2017 20:38

I like this one!

IWantABlueBanana · 30/06/2017 21:21

Ah so I googled, a slip!! I fancy one, I usually buy the tesco hold in tights the next size up then hoik them up to my ribs lol

That dress is THE winner, I think folk on here forget we don't all have millions to spend at coast etc. You look fab in that, I mean, yer highlights are a bit exteme though ah hem

My mums looking for a frock for my db's wedding, has had a hysterectomy this year so feeling shit bout her body so I'm away to look through what's been recommended here as the s&b folks are brill at picking stuff out

I know feck all bout frocks, I still think I dress like a teenage twat and need to be more ladylike so bloody ignore me!!

ChishandFips33 · 30/06/2017 21:46

The last one is very good on you :-)

FurcoatnoNicks · 30/06/2017 21:55

Wow that last dress is Shock

wifeyhun · 30/06/2017 22:27

Thanks everyone.

This board has been very helpful.

I never normally wear dress as I massively lack in body confidence.

Bluebanana, my budget is a bit limited, have two daughters that need outfits as well one of which is a very fussy teen lol.

Yes, defo the last one. It looks great. Ankle strap shoes aren't the best though, so I'd go with different ones if you can and maybe a colour rather than black.

wifeyhun · 30/06/2017 22:39

Thanks trucking what colour shoes would you recommend?. Useless at this kind of thing.

OP posts:
Truckingalong · 02/07/2017 12:34

I'd pick out a colour in the dress and go with that.

welshweasel · 02/07/2017 12:42

That dress is fab. I'd go with red heels, definitely no ankle strap.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 02/07/2017 12:48

The last dress is lovely.
Yep, red shoes.

NoSquirrels · 02/07/2017 13:13

That's the one OP - really suits you. Red accessories and lipstick!

Flyinggeese · 02/07/2017 13:41

Hey OP, last dress looks great. I'd go black and high for the shoes, but delicate and strappy.

You have fab legs hope you don't mind me saying!

Enjoy the wedding.

wifeyhun · 02/07/2017 15:57

Thanks everyone for being kind and the shoe suggestions.

Thank you flyinggeese!

I like the blue dress. You look lovely.

CakeNinja · 02/07/2017 16:30

Last one is my winner, you look fantastic in it!
One thing I would say, you might need to tone down the highlights, they look a bit brassy and flyaway Grin

SuburbanCrofter · 02/07/2017 18:54

I like the last one best.

I think you might have the same problem as me OP - the dress in the first pic is a 'skater' style dress, and as I am a pear shape, on me they just hit the widest part of my body then stick out all round like a table lamp. Grin

The other two dresses are more drapey, which I think is more flattering. I think jersey dresses (in high quality material) or more fitted dresses will suit you more.
