Are Style bloggers wealthy as a result of their blogs or do only wealthy women actually blog in the first place?

Just wondering really as every single style blog I come across is written by someone who appears to have pots of cash and thinks an item reduced to £200 from £300 is a 'bargain'?

I seriously can't get over the amount most of them seem to spend on clothes!

There's no way fashionfoiegras doesn't return half of that. That is vast amounts of new clothes.

She's bloody gorgeous though.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 15/05/2017 12:33

Fashionfoiegras is allowing me to admit that I actually quite like the palm leaf print that is much derided on MN. I like patterns and bright colours and when my confidence is back that is just the kind of thing I would wear

I also love that Boden dress but £250 is out of my budget. A lot of her other stuff is affordable. I may sell some of my other clothes and build a pot of money to treat myself

Maudlinmaud · 15/05/2017 12:40

Tw1nsetAndPearls I bought palm print trousers last week from h&m. I did not know they where derided and recommended them on a thread Blush They are fabulous..

SimplyNigella · 15/05/2017 12:49

Sounds like there are a few other ex Damsel/Handbag fashion board people on here as that's where I got to know DMBL40. She is very funny and I am pleased she's found a career that works for her- her husband works crazy hours and she needed something that could work around her doing the majority of the home/kids stuff.

buynowbloglater is still my absolute favourite though, I would love to be her friend not a stalker at all

MyOtherDogIsAPorsche · 15/05/2017 13:41

Just had a look at fashionfoiegras - she is a very attractive woman with a real sense of style and flair. Does anyone know what dress size she is, she looks like she might be more my size, 14, than many.......

MyOtherDogIsAPorsche · 15/05/2017 19:23

....... MyOtherDog strikes again. Notorious thread killer at work.

EnidButton · 16/05/2017 13:59
Grin (so you're not the last one.)
Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 15:31

I showed the fashionfoiegras website to my daughter last night and she thought that many of the clothes would suit me and in fact she would wear many of them herself. Thanks again @mrsmildred

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 15:32

@MyOtherDogIsAPorsche I can kill the thread now Smile

MyOtherDogIsAPorsche · 16/05/2017 19:09

Not before someone bloody well tells me what dress size fashionfoiegras is!

MrsMarigold · 16/05/2017 19:21

I think a lot of stuff is on loan, I used to work on a health and beauty magazine and the freebies and samples were worth double my wage, also clothes on loan for shoots, but writing about make up was sooooo boring, so I moved to business stuff.

CrispyBathTowel · 16/05/2017 19:44

MyOtherDog I'm not sure but she looks about a size 16 maybe?

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 20:17

I would say 14/16. She seems a bit bigger in some of the older pictures. I am about an 18 but am losing weight due to ill health.

I may have cancer but hopefully I will soon be a size 12 Grin ( I won't)

MyOtherDogIsAPorsche · 16/05/2017 20:20

Ah ha.Red Interview - she's a 14/16. Perfect. Now you can kill the thread.

MyOtherDogIsAPorsche · 16/05/2017 20:22

Oh Tw1nsetAndPearls - don't know whether to say crap or well done! And, bang on the money size wise Flowers

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 20:28

I am getting better every day @MyOtherDogIsAPorsche and hopefully will soon hear that it has gone.

I have also not lost any weight, when I got my diagnosis I did think "I might die but at least I will be thin" - neither has happened Grin

RiseandGrind · 16/05/2017 23:40

Anyone interested in a plus size blogger, 'the model and me' is great. She's a size 16 and about 5'6" and she wears the whole look as modelled. Great for seeing what clothes look like on a bigger frame. I just like her because she's blonde (so few of them around) and very positive.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 23:44

Thankyou @RiseandGrind Smile

Flyinggeese · 16/05/2017 23:49

Does anyone know if there's a link(management co?) between Pixiwoo, Caroline Hirons, Sali Hughes, Ruth Crilly & a few others?

I've noticed a lot of overlap and mutual recommendations, e.g. Of Ruth Crilly's dry shampoo, they were all trying v. hard to flog that at one point.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 23:52

@Flyinggeese they are all part of gleam management

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 16/05/2017 23:53

gleam clients are here

EnidButton · 17/05/2017 00:06

They all look so samey. It get boring. I much preferred a few of those in that link before they went with Gleam but it's understandable, I'd go with the money too.

Sali H isn't with Gleam though.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 17/05/2017 00:19

Sorry @EnidButton Sali Hughes isn't with gleam. I used to have a lot of time for Caroline Hirons. I tend to take note of what Sali Hughes says

EnidButton · 17/05/2017 04:28

Same Tw1n. I don't look at CH's stuff anymore.

Flyinggeese · 17/05/2017 07:51

thanks Tw1nset
