Are Style bloggers wealthy as a result of their blogs or do only wealthy women actually blog in the first place?

Just wondering really as every single style blog I come across is written by someone who appears to have pots of cash and thinks an item reduced to £200 from £300 is a 'bargain'?

I seriously can't get over the amount most of them seem to spend on clothes!

Has anyone dared to try on or buy the cropped trousers with the frill hem? I saw a lady wearing a red pair last week and she looked nice in them. I bet I would look anything but Grin
crispy my capris came today they are grand.

Floisme · 13/05/2017 18:14

I struggle with the concept of trousers and frills. For me, trousers are for striding out and kicking arse in, not for prancing around looking frilly. But maybe I should open my mind.

CrispyBathTowel · 13/05/2017 18:14

Where did you get them from again Maud?

Haven't tried any frill hem trousers - I know I'd look a dick! Think you probably need to be tall and slim to carry off the look. A few months ago I did nearly buy a pair of black cropped jeans with black Pom Poms at the hem but I wised myself up before ordering. They sold out very quickly though!

Maudlinmaud · 13/05/2017 18:21

Grin I agree floisme and crispy. A look that should be avoided by mainly everyone.
The capris where from george at asda, have to say the fit is lovely and they have a bit of stretch. I bought two pairs, one indigo and a lighter denim. Very handy for running around in the summer in our climate. Uniqlo have white capris.
I may buy a blazer with a frill sleeve.

Floisme · 13/05/2017 18:43

Yeh I quite like frill on a sleeve, providing it doesn't fall into your cappucino. It points to the wrist, which is normally the thinnest part of your arm so I think it's a look anyone can carry off, irrespective of size, age or shape. I don't really get the dislike for them on some threads.

(And yes, I realise that by the same token I should like frills on trousers but hey.)

AspasiaFitzgibbon · 13/05/2017 19:48

I'm with you on this Flo. Grilled - or even frilled ! - trousers are just too children's party entertainer for me.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 20:25

Like I already said home I wouldn't have any problem telling her, in real life, that her style really wasn't to my taste because I find it a bit frumpy. She has openly said herself that she knows her taste is so 'classic' that it can verge on being frumpy (she talks about this on her recent post about attending some blog awards, and was wondering what to wear)...so I don't think she'd be too devastated to hear someone else thinks it can be frumpy, too.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 20:29

Remus you're right that they do come up big, which is why I have them in a size 4. I have skinny feet, and always, always get blisters with any new shoes...but not with these, I luffs them I does Smile

Having said that, I don't ever really walk that far in them.

MF40s doesn't have them in gold - her gold ones are from H&M, and slightly more expensive.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2017 20:32

I really wanted to love them. Can't find any nice red ones anywhere. :(

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 20:35

I agree that MF40s is petite, and flat chested, so everything hangs beautifully on her.

Sadly, I have 34F norks, so some of her stuff is just .never going to look good on me. But I'm quite tall with narrow hips so I can, at least, pull off the wide legged cropped jeans.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 20:36

I can't think that I've seen any other red ballet shoes around...?

TheFairyCaravan · 13/05/2017 20:44

Remus I've got these red flats from Zara. They are really soft and so comfy.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 20:47

Blimey, they're identical to the TS ones and £5 cheaper! They look like they're slightly more structured to me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2017 20:47

Jones have red suede, but their stuff never fits me. Too wide. And I want leather.

EnidButton · 13/05/2017 20:47

Twin I didn't see that one. I think a lot of it is body shape rather than size so maybe that's why. I'm slim but hourglass shaped so some of the frilly wide body stuff looks awful on me. I need a waist.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2017 20:48

Thanks, Fairy. They look nice - will have a look next time I'm in town.

EnidButton · 13/05/2017 20:48

Posted too quick... I need a waist to go inwards on dresses and tops. Boxy doesn't suit.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 20:49

You're lucky Enid I have no waist, just straight up and down from my armpits to my hips Sad

RestingBitch · 13/05/2017 20:51

I worked for large company and they ran a campaign using dan and Phil. Apparently they are bloggers?, they paid (as far as I can recall tens of thousands for them), they did initially try and get another blogger who did video games but I seem to think he wanted about another 30k onto of what they paid dan and Phil. I'm assuming when they start up a lot of them don't seem to have expensive stuff. I think once they get a little more well known, that's the point when they start getting sent freebies

EnidButton · 13/05/2017 21:14

Ma but don't clothes look great on you? Especially this year's. I can't find anything that doesn't hang like a square sack on me.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 21:21

Depends Enid. Unfortunately, my norks often spoil the line of clothes, and tops can hang off my boobs and look like a tent.

EnidButton · 13/05/2017 21:31

Ah yes I was forgetting norks. I think designers forget norks too and waists and hips.

sowhatusernameisnttaken · 13/05/2017 21:38

Oh god I've been transfixed by those red shoes, I just don't "get" them at all, they are truly hideous. In fact I don't 'get' her style at all and am astonished people want to emulate it.
(She looks like a lovely lady so this is a dig at her choice of clothes not her!! )

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2017 22:18

I don;t want to emulate it - juts that quite a lot of the stuff she wears, I already have similar - and she wears things more than once , in different ways - unlike others mentioned on here.

My other favourite is Unfancy. She's young and slim and gorgeous, and I am none of those, but I like her pared back look.

MaQueen · 13/05/2017 22:19

Well, I don't have any waist or hips at least, but would dearly love to be a 34C...
