Hello GoldfishJane. You must avail yourself of a peignoir and sport it with nonchalance.

I'm not entirely sure what a peignoir is. Maybe I need to pack one.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 02/04/2017 18:30

Enjoy Goldfish - Juliet Stevenson is amazing - and the play isn't bad! I was amazed / had forgotten how many phrases in everyday(ish) use originate from Hamlet - "there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so" , "this above all, to thine own self be true", "there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy", "the lady doth protest too much", "frailty thy name is woman" etc etc.

Goldfishjane · 02/04/2017 18:35

word - I thought a peignoir was a delicate foamy sheer thing for you to kind of lounge in. Before 18th century women donned corsets in order to leave their room! But I'm not sure how it compares to a robe or dressing gown.

Giddy - it was my A level text so I know it too well! Looking forward to the amazing JS but also Andrew Scott. My fave bit is "now tis the witching time of night" so interested to see how he does it.

Dress code will be comfy with that running time, lol.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 02/04/2017 18:36

Sophia Loren looking mighty fine in a peignoir - Crepey role model?!

Stropperella · 02/04/2017 18:49

I would look like the Abominable Snowman in that. Grin

hattymattie · 02/04/2017 18:54

It's just dressing gown in French innit? At least that's what I thought. None of that posh silky or even feathery stuff.

Am eagerly awaiting Line of Duty tonight - not that I'm addicted or anything.

motherinferior · 02/04/2017 18:57

I am so fed up with being tired and run down. And now I have lots of work so have to pull myself together.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 02/04/2017 18:59

Me too Hatty re LOD, may watch it in my peignoir...

hattymattie · 02/04/2017 19:10

Grin Giddy.

MI - hot bath and bed, then attack with renewed force tomorrow. If you've had a mini virus you're probably feeling extra tired because of that.

CointreauVersial · 02/04/2017 19:13

MI - did you see our mutual friend's DD being interviewed on the BBC before the Boat Race? I half-watched the races while doing laundry etc - all very entertaining, but that poor Oxford girl who duffed up the start. Sad

motherinferior · 02/04/2017 19:19

Didn't even know the BR was on, thus continuing a pattern I proudly established at university Blush

Hattie, I can't go to bed before line of duteeee!!!!!

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 02/04/2017 19:37

Bloody hell, Sophia Loren would go up like a Roman Candle in all that nylon.....

Here, the holidays have begun, ds has sloped off into despondency only to be lifted by computer games Hmm

DD1 home tomorrow 😀 it'll be nice to have someone to talk to!

Goldfishjane · 02/04/2017 19:40

oh, that's a peignoir?! I don't want one now Grin

Cremolafoam · 02/04/2017 19:41

Also looking forward to LOD. It really is a wonderful employer round these parts , and despite loving the storyline itself, love to play Belfast Bingo while we watch.
Lol @Stropps. It is a bit of a meringue Sophia is sporting there. I think in my dreams I would float and loll in that, around my rose garden and on my swing seat.Hmm
GoldfishJane, welcome to Crepeyworld.SmileFlowers
I have hacked down brambles, chopped overgrown bushes, and rearranged the greenhouse. Dh has powerwashed stuff with a Kärcher he harvested from lateDf's garage. I am planning some powerwash fun(if my useless hands obey) on the deck tomorrow.

bigTillyMint · 02/04/2017 19:57

WAF, do you go tomorrow? How exciting - enjoy! And keep us updatedSmile

Cremo, I need to get my Karcher out. Love it!Blush

Nice afternoon out, DS and DH are now watching that Eddie the Eagle film which we went to see at the cinema!

herbaceous · 02/04/2017 20:20

Most looking forward to LOD, and hoping for some of the gaps to be filled. And to see how Odd Forensics Man deals with his rather awkward situation.

But may fall asleep. Have spent the afternoon having lunch with an NCT couple. The male of which is on the telly, you know. It was great. We sat inside gorging ourselves and drinking wine, while the kids played football outside.

And I don't have to teach tomorrow! Or do very much at all! Fan-bloody-tastic.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/04/2017 20:42

Jesus, GGG, I sweat looking at that. I was thinking of something in a good quality silk. Preferably with uplift in the bosom area and something to flatten the gut.

My peignoir inspiration is rather more akin to dear Hattie J.

Blackduck · 02/04/2017 21:04

I am feeling blessed. Lovely parcel(s) yesterday (as dhound has a present, dp has decided the gin is his, the chops are ds's and I get the smelliest )
I had a lovely meal last night night and curry lunch on an SAS base today (no kidding). Ended with a couple of beers as the sunset.
Thank you everyone - I can't tell you how much your thoughts and gifts were, and are, a boost.

Blackduck · 02/04/2017 21:04

Chocs and smellies. - and they can bog off....

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/04/2017 21:08

Tell your DP and DS to fuck off, BD, they are all yours.

Stropperella · 02/04/2017 22:37

MrsS has it right, BD.Grin

Waf, have a fantastic time!

Am in a tizzy and still working on stuff I have to use in a lesson tomorrow. Phooey.

addle · 03/04/2017 07:01

Are mules with feathery bits not needed with a peignoir?

Waf, have a wonderful holiday

Stropps, good luck

Luxury 2 weeks here not getting up extra early for DD and making her breakfast but can't wait for extra Easter holidays, even w/out anything exciting to do.

Reasons to be cheerful: sunny weekend and lots of tulips in the garden

MrsWobble3 · 03/04/2017 07:22

Thanks for the Hamlet info. I think I will book but keep the news of new interpretation to myself so as not to put dh from coming with me.

And I would like a peignoir and the life that goes with it which I am sure does not involve being on a bus at 7.22am to start another week of work.

motherinferior · 03/04/2017 07:43

I too must face the day. DP is huffily saying why can't he and I go away for a break over the half term - it's DD1's GCSEs and I feel even if our input is Snacks and Stability, we should be here...
