Aha! Oh I'd love to BUT it's DD2's birthday...

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 15/04/2017 09:16

I should have posted last night Blush MI, yours has gone this morning Blush I hate the FB event thingy, I can never see who I've invited and who I haven't. So please let me know if I've missed anyone.....

Last year Addle braved the barbie and made it through the night, so you are all welcome to eat and camp! It's quite possible it may be a little lively due to end of GCSE's Smile

Those not on FB, it would be lovely to see you too..... let me know, it's on June 24th.

Must rush, off for coffee with Rose!

motherinferior · 15/04/2017 09:56

DP is making phone calls. About test-driving some car or other Shock

herbaceous · 15/04/2017 10:20

Beachy - I appear to be not on The List. How've, that night I have already been booked in for a friend's birthday. This may of course all fall through.

Watching Police Interceptors, with kittens on lap. Shortly off to Aged Parents. Mother sounding chipper and bossy, which is a pleasing state of affairs.

Montypulciano · 15/04/2017 11:00

Have a lovely coffee with rose, Beachy. I appear not to be on the list either, but no matter as I'll be in Mallorca with my girlfriends that weekend. Have a fab time.

Am having trouble keeping up. Just off to Sainsbury's for eggs for Easter egg hunt. We were going to Tate but Dd2 complaining of feeling ill so that is postponed. I am feeling a bit delicate after too much wine yesterday evening so perhaps culture would be better when I am feeling fresher.

Incidentally, Sainsbury's has 25% off all clothes this weekend. Just saying.

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 15/04/2017 13:16

Herbs, you so were (love that expression) Grin
You must have blocked me Grin

However, there were some other omissions which hopefully I have rectified Blush

Rose and I have just had lovely coffee and dress shopping expedition. The red swingy one and also this one which is lovely, but may expose fatty arms more!

Montypulciano · 15/04/2017 13:57

Thank you for lovely invitation, Beachy Smile. I love that dress 👗 too, but it would expose my dinner lady arms too much. Gorgeous colour and fabric.

Rosebag · 15/04/2017 13:58

She looked buff in both of them and really doesn't have an arm problem at all... lovely mini MU. 😊I am way too gross for clothes shopping but have been introduced to a lovely arty mini mall by beachy where I have bought a Bolivian knitted shoulder bag. At some point I really need to get back...,

Cremolafoam · 15/04/2017 14:11

H Rose you so are not darling. I feel that i am my heaviest since forever and feel quite grim about it. Dont know where to start.Sad
Beachy i have seem the dress up close and think it beaut. You will look fab u las.
Have been to our fantastic garden centre which is run by Mark, who is 99years old this year , he tells me. We love him. He was full of chat and chopped £10 of our shrub shopping. He is an institution really. His son, grandson and great granddaughter do all the running about and Mark takes the cash and dishes out plantsman advice.
We are now having coffee and browsing local classes to join together. Conversational Russian , crash course in French for Emergency
Situations.GrinGrin

bigTillyMint · 15/04/2017 14:14

That is a lovely dress Beachy. I have bingo wings and no shame Grin

We made it to Wales, got lost a couple of times when we lost signal and only made it to my cousins new house because they stood outside waving! Had lunch and now at ecoBnB (which seems to involve a special kettle and a chilly room) and there are lambs outside Smile

Rosebag · 15/04/2017 14:52

Crem I have just reached my tipping point from whence comes the motivation to stop binge eating. after this wretched festival which involves eating like no other No one can do it for me. It's something that just happens... not least of all when my joints ache. I can deal with being a bit fat, or having a few aches and pains, but not both iyswim. I am also insufferably vain. I'll do it with you if you like. Just gentle comparing of notes on sensible eating. Xxx

Rosebag · 15/04/2017 15:02

btm we passed fields with lambs on our walks over the last couple of days. They are the cutest.

hattymattie · 15/04/2017 15:55

We have been shopping for wifi speakers so I can listen to my music at decent quality in the kitchen. It all seems very confusing and has to be controlled by tablet or phone. I quite wish for the the days of the radio cassette player and a "play" button.

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 15/04/2017 16:43

Herbs, meant to say earlier, faux leaded glass can be swapped for clear glass. We 'made the change' last year....

Lalsy · 15/04/2017 17:05

That dress is gorgeous, Beachy. Is it that vs the red one? Thank you for the lovely invite - having had exam season in previous years, this time we are having a family birthday do. Boo - I would love to come.

Just had lovely day out with dh and ds. Bike ride round London, lots on waterways, paths and through parks, with judicious use of trains. We went through the Olympic Park which was almost empty, so great for cycling. And had bloody gorgeous lunch at Cote in lieu of going away anywhere. Feel like a little snooze now.....

Lalsy · 15/04/2017 17:30

And from sublime dresses to......Hotter has a sale on, if anyone needs arch support, proper soles etc.

NUFC69 · 15/04/2017 17:32

Lalsy, you were asking about my hair management system. I am going grey from the front, I think, so the highlights tend to cover that - stray hairs seem to blend in. I have it highlighted every eight weeks and it costs me £50 each time (includes a trim and blow dry, of course), but that is only half a head. It works for me, although I am contemplating having it cut shorter, so would revert back to highlights every twelve weeks, but a cut every six.

I love the dress, Beachy, and am very envious that you have the arms (and body) to carry it off.

I am in catering mode: I have just made the raspberry cheesecake and parsnip and leek mash for tomorrow's dinner. I don't think I will be making the cheesecake again, far too fiddly, whatever it tastes like. There are 10 of us, but we're eating at 5ish after the Easter Egg Hunt.

NUFC69 · 15/04/2017 17:34

Still love my new Hotter trainers, Lalsy: and your day sounds lovely.

Lalsy · 15/04/2017 17:41

Thanks, NU, v helpful.

I know, mine are great too. Getting my footwear sorted has meant I can do so much more walking and exercise and really enjoy it - dh has learned not to question my trainer habit!

Cremolafoam · 15/04/2017 17:46

Rose , I know that tipping point is coming. My jeans are now a whole Size too small. I need to once again be horrified by the butter I am putting on my toast, which I am not ATM. But also to get walking again/ out of the chair. Bad habits. I have a few. I am well aware that the sluggish thyroid is responsible for the change in my body, but I do not want to feel dumpy and knackered all the time Sad
It is very hard to control eating in this house as dh eats and eats. Chocolate, cheese, cake, pies, carbs and sugar all day long. It takes double the resolution to pass up on his constant offering of biscuits and cheese By skinny bastard dh.Plus working funny hours, plus the diabetes which means having to eat at certain times and not being able to miss meals even when you are not hungry. It's a minefield. Grin
I will happily pair up for eating decent balanced meals plus just fruit 🍉. And moving my saggy arse out for a walk.

MrsWobble3 · 15/04/2017 18:08

I think the biggest influence on my size/weight is my stress levels. It's not so much that I eat less when stressed - although I probably do - but I think my metabolism goes through the roof. The pleasant side effect of this is I can consider weight gain as evidence of increased happiness. But I do have a couple of nice summer dresses that I would like to wear that were bought in summer 2013 which was a bit of a stress flash point for me. So I need to balance my vanity with my enjoyment of calorific intake and decide what to do. A third way would be to donate the dresses to the Red Cross shop and go and buy some more that are flattering to the size I am now and thus avoid both deprivation and the bursting out look. And looking at the pile of Easter eggs we have accumulated that approach has its attractions.

motherinferior · 15/04/2017 18:10

We went out for lunch to the excellent localish South Indian which has, I noticed, a subcontinental version of a dark and stormy. Just sayin'....

Then I wandered back through many charity shops, picking up many lovely things en route including a red maxi-dress with black and white flowers, originally m&s, very nice, which only requires a bit of shortening to wear for various party things I need to go to (I fancy wearing it with plimsolls or my gazelles). Also a can of fancy Norwegian beer from a new fancy gin and wine and beer shop. They had really posh cardamom gin. And inform me that a new second-hand bookshop cum gin cafe is opening round here soon. I merely mention this in case anyone is remotely interested.

Montypulciano · 15/04/2017 18:42

Books and gin in the same shop? How marvellous.

I bought a nice top in Sainsbury's today. And lots of earrings. At least they always fit Smile. MrsW, I hear you on the dresses. Good to have a goal. I have a couple which I need to get back into, along with several other bits of my wardrobe. Jeans are tights. Everything is tight. I need to take action.

Do we need a separate crepey lard thread?
