My favourite discontinued perfumes

About to run out of my 2 favourite perfumes that I have been hoarding for decades,I've always kept them in the boxes in a cool dark cupboardso they still smell just like they used to.really gutted that I cant buy them anymore!

My sister worked at Selfridges. A few Christmasses ago she came home with a huge bottle of Alberta Ferretti perfume and gave it to me. It was absolutely stunning. I used it up within six months of course it was sold out when I went to buy more which was just as well as it was £79 for 30mls! I know there's dearer out there but I loved it and would have used it sparingly had I known. Now it's discontinued and I finally chucked the bottle last year as the last bit of smell had gone (I use empty fragrance bottles in my cupboards, drawers, wardrobes etc).

I have Her by Narciso Rodriguez. I love it but the nozzle won't spray. Any ideas how to fix please anyone? I was going to see about transferring it to one of those purse sprays but no idea if you can do that with a spray bottle. Anyone know?

Oh pistachio I came on here to add mac MV3!! Love it and miss it, i still have my bottle to sniff from time time, as well as Dolce & gabbana 'by' for women. I keep pretty much all of my perfume bottles in a box to revisit from time to time, even the empties. My husband thinks i'm mad for keeping empty perfume bottles
Another perfume I wish was still available is Le feu d'issey light, a milky peppery wonder of a perfume, I used to douse myself in these beauties just to go down the pub with no thought that they would one day be gone.

SharonBotts if it is a spray nozzle you can pull off the thin pipe underneath then a Travalo purse spray fits onto the pipe and you refill it by pumping the Travalo up and down.

If it is the pipe part that won't work maybe you could get hold of a syringe and use that to put the perfume in a different spray bottle.

Mintmagnummm you've reminded me of Versace Baby Blue Jeans. I found a bottle when I was in the US a couple of years ago after not seeing it for donkey's years. My last bottle before that I bought in Menorca. I don't think I've ever seen it in UK.

Roberto Cavalli 'woman' and also, 'oro'. Both absolutely amazing and in tall thin bottles.. have just seen on amazon they are going for nearly £100 😭

About 10 years ago I had some lovely spicy perfume from espa. Not been able to get any for years now I do feel sad about its disappearance.

I really miss City Glam by Giorgio Armani.
I loved wearing Calvin Klein's Truth which is extremely hard to find. Occasionally it pops up on Strawberry Net or The Perfume Shop.
YSL used to do a fragrance called Nu, well they still offer it occasionally as part of their heritage type collection but it costs an arm or a leg now.

But a new formulation. Still my favourite scent though. DH buys it most Christmases/Birthdays which happen at the same time.

Can't believe no-one's mentioned Body Shop Dewberry yet!

I've tried a few dewberry fragrance oils but none are quite the same scent. They certainly aren't as strong - my TBS bottle saw me thorough the whole of the 90s as it needed to be applied by the microlitre.

Once I couldn't get any more liquid out of the bottle I put it under the radiator and it kept my room scented for a few years.

Probably why so many hated it - many fans of dewberry used to overdo it so massively. It's like the enormous 80s perfumes that have to be treated with respect.

Happy I also loved it!!! I think I was probably one of those who overused it though.

Wasn't there a story about a woman who was banned from her local pub for wearing it?

I am in Givenchy III today and I smell magnificent!

I only have about 5mls left of a vintage bottle, need to get me to the bay of E for another.

L'Occitane Thé Vert, the original one, not the new one with bigarade ( bitter orange ) which is too sweet.

Loved new west. Favourite scent is trussardi action. Just amazing. It sells for hundreds on eBay. Also an old perfume by next called floribunda and wrappings by Clinique although I have recently seen it so it must be back.

Angry me too. Stella in two peony was my signature scent. If I had known they would discontinue it I would have stocked up.

Always got loads of compliments when wearing it.

I miss Sella Nude so much .

D&G Feminine was another one but the perfume parlour do a great dupe of it, I recently discovered!

They hold so many memories

Acqua di Gio for women, was absolutely gutted when they discontinued it. Was my favourite for years, and no one else I knew wore it.
