Need opinion on these sandals!

Every year brings the inevitable sandal buying nightmare - finding something that is comfortable but also stylish. I have bought these. They are so lovely to wear but I can't decide if they are nice or not?? They weren't cheap so I don't want to keep them and end up not wearing them as I do with so many other things

Missing the photo Smile

Oh yes, that would be helpful! Link here www.gaborshoes.co.uk/womens-c1/sandals-c4/promise-ladies-sandals-p23874?attribute%5B1%5D=15827

Not a real fan of them tbh but then I find it hard to find shoes /sandals to suit me anyway .

Tweedledee3Tweedledum · 15/03/2017 11:03

I really like them. They look like they will go with everything.

LoupGarou · 15/03/2017 11:05

I really like them, they look so comfortable and versatile Smile

BadTasteFlump · 15/03/2017 11:08

Quite like them actually - only in the tan though - for some reason they look horrible in the other colours.

TheChineseChicken · 15/03/2017 11:24

Ok, mostly positive. They do actually look 'cooler' on than off. My mum and husband liked them but I wasn't sure if that was a good sign or not Smile

Not keen here, sorry. They are the kind of style my mum wears. How old are you?

TheChineseChicken · 15/03/2017 11:29

Cakes this is what I was worried about. I'm 36 and usually fairly trendy/well dressed

I think they look comfy, but I suspect they might be aimed towards an older customer (not that that matters if you love them, obviously). It's only mid-March, so possibly worth hanging on until shops have more stock in?

RatherBeRiding · 15/03/2017 11:50

If you like them, wear them! I really like them, but am a fan of that kind of style anyway. I live in flats or low wedges in the summer - feet get hot and can't cope with anything with heels or in any way restricting.

They look understatedly stylish and I image would go well with most casual/smart casual outfits.

Suzietwo · 15/03/2017 11:57

I thought I totally hated them but on reflection I do quite like them!

TheChineseChicken · 15/03/2017 11:59

Well I can't find the sodding receipt so might have to keep them regardless

AmserGwin · 15/03/2017 12:29

Yes they are fine

UrethaFranklin · 15/03/2017 14:53

i quite like the uppers, its the white sole part that I don't like.

Apfelbunny · 15/03/2017 15:19

They cost more than all the clothes I'm currently wearing put together.
And today im wearing a more expensive than normal combo

They look comfy by the way. Smile

ChishandFips33 · 15/03/2017 15:34

I need to see a foot in them - some sandals look lovely on the shelf and naff on and others look far better on than off!

I'm on the fence (I wear Ecco gladiators so probably not the best to give an opinion!)

BreatheDeep · 15/03/2017 15:39

I'm 35 and think they look too old for me. But they are quite nice, if a bit dull.

Oblomov17 · 15/03/2017 15:47

I think they look very old woman'ish.

TheChineseChicken · 15/03/2017 18:14

Argh, now I'm not sure! Hopefully John Lewis will take pity on me and let me exchange them without a receipt

I am 54 and wouldn’t buy them. I would think they were for my mum who is 76! That being said my DD’s (age 19 and 24) often wear shoes that should look frumpy, but on them look rather cool and stylish.

oldwife · 15/03/2017 18:20

I like them.

Sandals need to be comfortable and they look to be smart enough whilst still being walkable.

They look very comfortable, which is always an issue with sandals. They do, however make me think that you farm alpacas and wear Bolivian peasant jackets. Sorry.
