Trends that you just don't suit?

I've been ogling halo eyeshadow looks on Pinterest.

Tried it today and it just doesn't work for me. It just looks a bit weird! Also the overdrawing of lips - tbh I'm not the biggest fan but when I tried it, it just made me look like I had really uneven lips!

Also crew necked tops as I'm busty Grin

Anyone care to share theirs?

Crop tops are great for going under something without adding bulk at the waist - like pinafores, or regular tops to add a layer of warmth. I've got tons for this purpose but would never wear them on their own. I'm 43 and do have a denim pinafore in a shift style that works really well.
I occasionally also wear crop tops beneath a strappy dress on a night out, etc.

Now for what doesn't suit me:
Mom jeans bury me and make me look like a clown even if i size down.
dark eye shadow - or the smoky look (I'm pale blonde and look like someone dug me up)
Belts on pants or jeans - it feels uncomfortable and bulky and never looks right.
Shoes with a stiletto heel - have never even owned a pair although I can walk well in a high chunky platform!

Palazzo pants they just drown me.
Open toe sandals/flip flops - shudder - I have awful toes
Anything cream or pale pastel - look like I've been dug up
I can only wear v necks or slouchy cowl necks - crews and polo look dreadful on me - boobs quite big for my small frame. This neckline issue actually saves me a lot of money as stops me buying loads of gorgeous tops or dresses because the majority of necklines are crew.
I would never wear a knitted dress as even as a size 6/8, they are the most unflattering item of clothing in the world!
Anything cutesy print - Boden et al makes me want to gag.

I can not stand looking too 'done' with neat and tidy hair. I look in the mirror and it frightens me. If my clothes are smartish, I must have messy hair (easy to achieve ha). If I look slightly messy, then I apply make up carefully. But really can never achieve a tidy appearance, mainly because my wavy -frizzy- hair does whatever.
In short, I think we just become accustomed to seeing ourselves a certain way
