I've been ogling halo eyeshadow looks on Pinterest.

Tried it today and it just doesn't work for me. It just looks a bit weird! Also the overdrawing of lips - tbh I'm not the biggest fan but when I tried it, it just made me look like I had really uneven lips!

Also crew necked tops as I'm busty Grin

Anyone care to share theirs?

Anything too casual looks awful on me - t-shirts, hoodies, trainers

I'm 44 and wear pinafores ha

LoupGarou · 20/02/2017 16:08

I also love mini skirts Blush. I don't like pinnafore dresses though, or peter pan collars, due to my other physical features I end up looking too doll-like and innocent, and that tends to attract attention in a bad way, particularly as I am fond of going to rough-ish dive/biker bars when I occasionally have evenings out in less remote locales.

I love cowgirl style stuff (not overdone though) but we live in the US so thinks its easier to pull off here - felt silly when I tried it living in Paris!

I think pinafores look fine on slim women of any age. I would never wear one.

BusterGonad · 20/02/2017 16:28

I'm 38 and live in short dresses and mini skirts!

humanfemale · 20/02/2017 16:52

Jumpsuits look rubbish on me! I have small tits and a curvy butt, plus a long body and those facts conspire to make me look a bloody state in them, much as I like them.

Eyeshadow - have never had one on me that hasn't made me look less good than I did with none at all. Just don't suit it.

Primer / powder - I have very dry skin, so it just sits there, looking claggy.

Flat gladiator sandals - I have very wide feet and they make me look like a man

I am totally attracted to those shapeless, non-fitted sleeveless shift dresses but they just don't suit me! They hide my small waist and showcase my flabby arms :)

I do suspect I am overly self-critical, though. I see other women with similar figures to me wearing jumpsuits, flat sandals etc and I always think they look lovely. :/

Eastwestbestrest · 20/02/2017 16:56

Cold shoulder and off the shoulder tops look dreadful on me. I have an hourglass figure and very wide shoulders and they make me look massive.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 20/02/2017 18:27

Oops didn't mean to offend!

I like mini skirts. Not on my legs but they do suit leggy folk Grin

Earrings on my lobes! They look TERRIBLE. I've tried studs, pretty delicate little ones, hoops, danglies - all AWFUL. They make me look like a drag artist!! Yet I have several other ear piercings and a tattoo in my ear and all looks fine! Bizarre!

Diamonddealeroncemore · 20/02/2017 18:54

Peplums. I seriously don't need a band of voluminous fabric laid out over my voluminous fat belly making me look even huger.

Also anything with bows or frills at the neck I look a right state.

Skinny jeans do not suit my massive legs but I wear them anyway because they are easy. I just wear a big top to try and make them look smaller like an optical illusion.

Doobigetta · 20/02/2017 19:15

Anything bulky but cinched at the waist- padded coats, wrap cardigans etc- is horrendous on me. Makes my boobs disappear and my stomach double in size.

BabyHamster · 20/02/2017 19:47

Most jeans, really. It takes me ages to find the right ones. Need to buy some new ones and can't quite face it at the moment it's such hard work!

Love miniskirts and pinafores though, you've made me a bit paranoid now OP Smile glad others are still wearing them!!

kidisagoat · 20/02/2017 20:26

I love to see a crisp white shirt tucked into jeans on other women. On me they just look awful.
Same with an artfully placed blanket scarf, they fall of my shoulders and I look like I'm dressed in a camping blanket.

Polkadot1974 · 20/02/2017 21:03

Anything tucked in. Just looks awful on me as my belly is so huge

SailAwayWithMeHoney · 20/02/2017 21:11

Blanket coats/shawls.
3/4length / cropped/ capri trousers.
Pleated skirts of any length.
Most maxi-skirts
Most midi-skirts.

I'm too short for any of the above!! Just makes me look even shorter!

Lunaballoon · 20/02/2017 21:17

Anything 'oversized' which seems to have taken over from regular sizing. I'm a petite 5' so practically everything swamps me!

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 20/02/2017 21:18

I long to be able to wear a crisp white shirt, classic slim black trousers and a casual blazer.

I am not streamlined enough. My clothes fit but I'm too busty for a shirt and I dunno, it never looks quite how I want it to. Dammit.

I can't wear high waisted trousers or jeans. Sad times.

Onthewingofaswift · 20/02/2017 21:57

I am tall, busty and the fat lies on the top of my bum so the lower half is flat. I don't suit midi tube skirts, belts (short waist), waisted skirts, mid length jackets, long cardigans and kitten heels. I can very easily look matronly or mother of the bride as soon as I wear anything semi formal. So I stick to a sort of uniform that is boxy tops or long fitted top over a ruched skirt or ponte leggings, jacket and Nike trainers or boots. I also can't wear eyeshadow. I think I have a red tone to my skin so red lippy makes me redder

tappitytaptap · 20/02/2017 22:03

Mom jeans for some reason look ridiculous on me (size 10 and 5ft 8..too tall?!).
Eyeliner in general. I am so pale it makes me look even more ghostly and tends to smudge a bit so makes me look knackered too - great combo 😂

Bluntness100 · 20/02/2017 22:06

Cullottes, but in my defence I think most people look shocking in them. Can't believe they are making a come back.🙄

Anything with ruffles, anything high waisted, those swing trapeze tops or dresses, they just make me look pregnant. Dark eye shadow, I look like I've not slept for a week and then got up for Halloween,,,,

camelfinger · 20/02/2017 22:06

I look like I've been poured into skinny jeans. Unless I get them made of thick denim a couple of sizes up.

Fake eyelashes. I had one done professionally as a wedding make up and everyone agreed that the fake eye looked stupid.

Judydreamsofhorses · 20/02/2017 22:26

Anything oversized or "boyfriend" on top - I have a small waist and need things which are either fitted or boxy and sitting just on my waistband. I am hankering after some flared, cropped trousers or jeans at the moment, and on a buy/return cycle - I may need to accept they all look shit on me.

I am, however, a big fan of a pinafore or a short a-line skirt.

vitaminC · 22/02/2017 17:06

gleegeek I mainly wear skirts.
Pencil for work, denim or cord for casual. White denim in summer...

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/02/2017 17:27

Like a pp, I cannot wear trousers. Any style. They add about three stone to me and make me look shapeless and awful. I can't pull off casual dressing at all either. I'm a high waisted hourglass and only really suit dresses. Tights are the bane of my life and I live for the spring and summer when I don't have to wrestle with them every day.

I used to think I couldn't wear lipstick but I have suddenly fallen in love with it and have loads which I wear all the time. I don't know why I always thought I couldn't pull it off.

I also find contouring makes me look like I have a dirty face. I don't understand!
