The comfiest flat black ankle boots ever?

SelfieADay · 15/02/2017 16:13

Right, I'm not convinced these shoes I'm dreaming of exist as I've had no luck finding them myself but I'm turning to you lot for help looking please. Comfort is absolute top priority but I'm quite picky about style too and not exactly rich so budget is not massive.

I have one of those jobs where I have to be on my feet all day running about, lifting shit and whatnot but I also like to look alright as I'm customer facing (and vain). I have to wear all black and need the comfiest shoes possible for obvious reasons. At the moment I wear trainers but I would like another option, ideally I would like some super comfy flat ankle boots that are equally (or more) comfy than my Nike Airs. Do these exist? If they do please tell me where!

Many, many thanks in advance Smile

I have come to the sad conclusion that nothing is more comfortable than Nike Airs.

SelfieADay · 15/02/2017 18:19

Damn, I had my suspicions that that might be the case! Guess I should just count myself very lucky that I scored mine basically brand new for £12 on ebay. I hope they last!

I would get some of these, a great price for very well made boots

I was in Schuh at the weekend looking for boots for work and bought these as they were so comfy, they may not be very stylish though! I don't have wide feet but I imagine if you have particularly narrow feet they might be too wide as they are quite generously sized.

Ooh they do look comfy and very good value yes. Gone in my size (5) though and I'd have to try them on to know for sure but I think they might look a little bit clumpier than what I'm after, I want something super light weight. Maybe light weight ankle boots don't really exist though?

SelfieADay · 15/02/2017 18:34

That was to GVmama!

I actually prefer the look of those Fly ones although definitely not light weight either!

Thank you very much for the suggestions though, it is really appreciated Grin

Are they so comfy that they make you want to hop and skip and prance about?

OP posts:
SelfieADay · 15/02/2017 18:44

That is what I'm aiming for!

These look a bit more lightweight, and similar to the Marks and Spencers ones above ^

It depends whether you like the ruched style (I don't so much!)

SelfieADay · 15/02/2017 18:49

I'm not really a lover of the ruched-ness. I hate the word but I guess my style is either very "edgy" or super simple and (hopefully) chic. So I tend to like things that are very plain or very weird but not much in between (if that makes any sense at all).

Happybee09 · 15/02/2017 18:53

Marking place - I like the sort of style of the clarks suede ones, the ruched not so much
A sort of Chelsea boot would probably be the best bet that would go with a lot of outfits if you can find a comfy pair of them

BikeRunSki · 15/02/2017 19:01

Blundstone You may not like the utilitarian style, but these are the comfiest boots in the world. I have had a pair on the go constantly for more than 20 years (about 3 pairs over that time).

Wellthatsit · 15/02/2017 19:04

I have the ones Mairi linked to - they are very comfortable (I am fussy). I think they are stylish,, but like a casual, boyish style look, so it's all subjective.

PickAChew · 15/02/2017 19:08

I have these, which are light and very comfy with a gel insole in.

Not as comfy as my Nike, though.

rosybell · 15/02/2017 19:38

I've got these and on my feet all day, they're super comfy-

Skechers go walks are amazing but not black ankle boots I grant you! Other than that I don't think you can beat Clarks for comfort. Or how about doc martens-I've never had them myself but people swear by them.

Foureyesarebetterthantwo · 15/02/2017 19:46

nothruroad is right, those are the comfiest boots. They look naffer in the picture than they do in real life where they have more of a pixie vibe. My dd wears them and she's a teen!

NotMeNoNo · 15/02/2017 19:49

Don't you need work boots if you're lifting?
I would go for Doc martens or similar with some sort of super-duper memory/gel/ortho insole. There's a good reason so many people on their feet wear DMs.

Might be less hardwearing but anything from Camper, etc. see rubber sole for lots of options.

Ecco? Reviews on Amazon are 5* for these boots, saying they are super comfortable. I have a pair of Ecco Elaine boots lined with lambswool and they are the warmest, most comfortable things I've ever worn. It's like wearing slippers!

They come in other colours

passthewineplz · 15/02/2017 20:06

Unfortunately stylish black work shoes/boots don't exist, I've done the research and tried and tested! Lol!

Ladies I work with either like clarks unloops, sketchers go walk or crocs.

Personally crocs kadee are the most comfortable and look better, second best are clarks unloop.

passthewineplz · 15/02/2017 20:13

I like the m&s boots, they look comfy and quite trendy. They looo like they'll work with a black work uniform

nothruroad · 15/02/2017 20:26

Yes, I hop and skip and prance all day. Honest.

I wasn't fond of the look of these at first but they are so kind to my feet that now I love them. Sort of like how the people with good thoughts can never be ugly in The Twits.
