Thread 3

Thread 4

For those who are taking a peek and wondering whether thread 1,2, 3, and 4 are worth reading, we mostly discuss a bit of advanced skincare here with a perspective of seeking out the right ingredients for our particular needs. Distinguishing the acid toners from the actives whilst avoiding the truly unimpressive and harmful ingredients with a hope to achieve a bit of anti-ageing, alleviate irritation and sensitivities with some idle chat in between. Deviations on this thread are mostly my fault. Grin

If you're in need of some advice coming to grips with your skincare routine please don't hesitate to ask, we don't bite, only occasionally sting with a bit of Biologique Recherche P50 now and then Wink. Just make sure to state clearly what your concerns and needs are in as much detail as possible, skincare is highly individual and a random recommendation for a 'good' product will be completely different from one person to the next.

Make sure you've read the earlier threads (or at the very least the first one) so we're not being asked to answer to previously raised questions. It takes a lot of time and effort to answer these queries and often the answers can be found in previous threads, but if you still have questions relating specifically to you, use the following form to make life easier on us. We generally answer one or to two people a day on a first come first served basis. Not everyone will have answers and sometimes we can't answer you at all. We're only a bunch of amateurs that can respond by suggesting what we would do in your place, for any severe conditions please seek out professional help.

Ahem, and finally a little note on spending. I'm well aware these threads cause many to reach for their wallets and spend with wild abandon. There can sometimes be a bit of a frenzy surrounding the excitement around a newly discovered product or on the back of great improvements when someone reports back. This is all great, it doesn't however, mean everything that's a sudden miracle for one will be it for you. Usually, it's a light bulb moment for connecting the right skincare ingredient with an individual experiencing a specific problem. Take your time to mull over decisions and question whether it's right for you too. Skincare is highly individual, it's a slow game that should cost mostly in patience, input, education, and perseverance. Please don't make it cost you financially needlessly either.

GROSS VIDEO WARNING

I recommend you seek out your GP if you suspect having it, user.

Thanks Bo. Sorry to hear about cyst. Just to clarify, cosrx has niacin in (I hadn't realised) so should I def switch vit c to am routine?
Enid. I've just started watching you tube beauty stuff. Dr Sam is my favourite I just love looking at her glowing skin Grin

If anyone has a night time moisturiser they'd recommend for combo skin? Haven't ventured in to Asian/sleeping masks -yet!

Pupsiecola · 02/02/2017 21:36

Bo I did. 40 minute round trip! The sales assistant had gone home but I tried 1 first. Wasn't sure. Popped 2 on, and it was evident that was the right one. Sorry to hear about your cyst. Hope you're okay Flowers.

user what you describe is a bit like my experience. My DH doesn't even think I have it because I don't have any of the bumps and actually now it's pretty much under control so very little redness (mainly product reactions). But then I do try to avoid all the triggers you mention. I've switched to white wine (might try those reds mentioned, although I do prefer white now, and I appreciate the coldness of it rather than the warmth of red). Only thing I don't compromise on is my love of intense exercise; the benefits far outweigh the very red face which takes about an hour to subside.

AuroraPolaris · 02/02/2017 21:46

--Of course they should! I want to try the jasmine sheet mask, for your information, PR people!

I've become very attached to my hot water bottle this winter. I tell DH it's my best friend Grin. Hope you get some sleep....

I also got shade 2. It's definitely the magic one!

EnidButton · 02/02/2017 21:47

Thank you for YT suggestions. Dr Sam of course! I've come across a couple of them on Instagram. Only seen NB on there and don't warm to her either although I don't know why, she's pretty good etc.

Like the look of the oil cleanser on EPP. Don't think there's anything in it that my skin would react to.

Put a bit of Corsrx bha on lower cheeks by nostrils and now have a really sore lump/spot. 🙄 So maybe I'll have to keep it just to my nose area. But I went out for dinner again and ate a bit of wheat and sugar so I'll give it a couple of days and try again.

It's so cold tonight and the house is being battered by the wind.

Hope your appointment goes smoothly Hollin and it gets fixed up.

bo You'll know already but a mix of ibuprofen and paracetamol helps a tiny bit with the pain and I've had some some relief with Buscopan which seems to stop the cramping spasms that it goes into after a burst. Hope you feel better soon. Get that hot water bottle filled up. Flowers

AuroraPolaris · 02/02/2017 21:47

And I'm not watching that video, sorry, not sorry!

EnidButton · 02/02/2017 21:52

I can't bear spots and pus and urrgh! Blood and vomit, fine. Someone squeezing a blackhead...🤢🤢🤢🤢

Can barely type it. My DSis loves all that. She has perfectly smooth skin despite doing zero skincare, washing her face with shower gel and sleeping in make up every night. We should've had each other's skin type.

EnidButton · 02/02/2017 21:52

Missed the vital bit out, she watches those videos and likes them. 🤢😷

botemp · 02/02/2017 22:03

If she's one of those who flippantly claims she'd love some blackheads herself so she can squeeze them out, you have my permission to smack her hard Halo

Do those with The Concealer use a tinted moisturiser before or after?

EnidButton · 03/02/2017 00:54

Grin bo Tbf she's never gone that far. And she never boasts about her lovely skin. I watch people folding stuff on YT so I can't talk really. Blush

EnidButton · 03/02/2017 00:57

I don't have The concealer yet Pupsie but I've always put my base on before any concealers.

AuroraPolaris · 03/02/2017 06:36

Pupsie I do TM/ found before and concealer on top of that.

cad186 · 03/02/2017 07:55

For those that wear make up, what do you all do about reapplying spf throughout the day?

FizzyBubbly · 03/02/2017 08:31

Cad I need to know this too, at least until my skin is good enough to go out barefaced. There's a spray by Bioderma that's been mentioned (first thread I think) that can be applied as a top up over make up (but not to be relied on as main SPF) www.cocooncenter.co.uk/bioderma-hydrabio-eau-de-soin-spf-30-moisturising-anti-uv-mist-50ml/23760.html

Unless there are some more knowledgable I will probably start using that once I emerge from my winter hibernation!

yongnian · 03/02/2017 09:20

Eek sorry to hear that bo sounds nasty, hope you are feeling a bit better today and hollin good luck with the stitches!
My lurgy has taken a marked turn for the worse, think it all must have become infected...was devastated to not get a drs appointment til mon, when I rang yesterday but rang this morning and got a cancellation thankfully....feeling dreadful.
dulci that's interesting, I have some of those other skin things (but not kp) I might ask doc to just take a quick look when I'm there this aft.
pupsie if you are now liking a cold drink, you could also try rosé of course - equally good for non-sulphite allergens.
Grr am wanting to try The Concealer now....hmmmm....
I don't have any gross sporner vids to offer, but can record my horrible hacking sputum cough if that floats anyone's boat!!!!

cad186 · 03/02/2017 09:21

I don't think I'll ever get to the point where I'd go out barefaced!

Pupsiecola · 03/02/2017 09:32

I think I may have found my hair styling The Concealer. I bought this yesterday and I just dried my hair and it looks fantastic. I've used the brand's shampoo and conditioner before but I prefer Pureology to those. The shampoo and condition I ordered in the week is good, but quite heavy. I think I will use it once/twice a week. My usual Pureology + this cream = smooth :-)

Living Proof

AuroraPolaris · 03/02/2017 11:00

Yeah, the Bioderma spray is great, but indeed not to be relied upon as main SPF but just for top up during the day. I find it works best if you pat it in (very gently) after spraying.

bo and Yong hope you are both doing better Flowers

purple15 · 03/02/2017 11:43

I want some of The Concealer
too.

I'm still lurking on the thread and a while ago I was recommended the Nyx concealer which I have been using for two weeks and is great but if I use The Concealer is it amazing?

Dulcimena · 03/02/2017 11:52

JD I use Vit C in the morning too. TO one has HA too, so that + Snail Bee Essence + s/s is generally adequate moisture for me (and the combo that doesn't result in balling up).

The only thing I can apply before the Vit C without it balling up is the Benton fermentation essence, which is indeed a first essence and is basically like water. I was interested in trying this having had great results with the Benton Snail Bee Essence (heavier) and Buffet (which contains some ferments). However. While the Benton Fermentation Essence does add a nice extra layer of moisture, I'm not sure that it's fabulous for my skin all the time. My skin can react quite differently to ingredients during my cycle and I think either the panthenol or ceramides might be an issue in the latter half. Will experiment more and report back in due course...

JDSTER · 03/02/2017 12:07

Thanks Dulci. I actually experimented this morning and used vit c then my HA and moisturiser, then waited a bit for spf. Makeup was fine so I'll stick with it in the morning and niacin at night.

hollinhurst84 · 03/02/2017 12:31

Had a skin flap, and 29 stitches under local. Ow

Tsmummy08 · 03/02/2017 12:34

I'm here, catching up!

OMG that video, ewwwwww! Had to stop after a few seconds!!

JDSTER Another one here who uses vit C in the morning (after I've used retinol and a niacin-containing moisturiser the night before). I do what you've described: (eye serum), vit C, HA and moisturiser, SPF, makeup :)

Purple I'm a self-confessed concealer whore and find "the concealer" amazing... I've rarely strayed from its magical ways since it arrived, which is highly unusual Grin

mintmagnummm · 03/02/2017 13:28

bo is it the Sebastian potion 9? Is it good?
