Ok, am a 40yo frump. Photo of me included.

Have booked in at hairdressers tomorrow for a pixi cut. Hair is currently past boobs. Really thick. I wear it tied back in a high pony tail all the time and need to do something as it's so boring.

So really cropped? A bit bouffant? Something in between? Or cancel the appt?

You have similar textured hair to me, OP, with a similar hairline and the same amount of resistance to doing anything with it that didn't involve copious amounts of heat and product - I gave up on having it long, years ago.

Your new cut really suits you. You'll probably find that more frames look good on you, now, too.

You look fab your long hair was nice but so many people have that look you really stand out now. I love short hair but with really curly hair it won't work for me.
