Thread 1

Thread 2

For those who are taking a peek and wondering whether thread 1and 2 are worth reading we mostly discuss a bit of advanced skincare here with a perspective of seeking out the right ingredients for our particular needs. Distinguishing the acid toners from the actives whilst avoiding the truly unimpressive and harmful ingredients with a hope to achieve a bit of anti-ageing, alleviate irritation and sensitivities with some idle chat in between deviations on this thread are mostly my fault. Xmas Grin

If you're in need of some advice coming to grips with your skincare routine please don't hesitate to ask, we don't bite, only occasionally sting with a bit of Biologique Recherche P50 now and then Xmas Wink. Just make sure to state clearly what your concerns and needs are, skincare is highly individual and a random recommendation for a 'good' product will be completely different from one person to the next.

If you want help, have read through the previous threads, but if you still have questions use the following form to make life easier on us. We generally answer up to two people a day on a first come first served basis. Not everyone will have answers and sometimes we can't answer you at all. We're only a bunch of amateurs that can respond by suggesting what we would do in your place, for any severe conditions please seek out professional help.

Damnit now I want that first glam glow set. Usually if it's out of stock online it means the stores are out of them too unfortunately although I will check.

EnidButton · 06/01/2017 21:27

Noooo! The MUFE foundation contains hyluronic acid 😩 Ffs they're putting it in everything!
Don't know if I should risk it or not.

botemp · 06/01/2017 21:32

That Glamglow set was already a bargain before it went on sale. I assume it'll be all over eBay now at inflated prices Hmm.

I think if you're below an NC/NW20 territory you'd struggle with shade 2 but since it's partially colour correcting it may just work if you have a lot of discoloration there where the warmish peach tone cancels out the cool blue/purple. Doesn't John Lewis sell Sisley, think that's where Hollin looked up the UK price for me initially?

Isn't the MUFE foundation really easy to order a sample from? Can't remember the website but there was a special one you could order decants from. Hollin must know Smile.

Yeah I'd been trying it in the airport for the past two years or so but always thought there is no fucking was I'm paying 70€ for a concealer. I always tried shade 1 though. Lo and behold - websites, promo codes (thnx hollin), bo who said shade two works better... so I ended getting that and paying under 50€, plus is comes with a brush.
I'm not super pale either - light brown/ dark blond hair, blue/turquoise eyes, mixed undertones.

I never use concealer right under the eye - it creates a strange look. Just in the inner corner and in the hollow under the eye and then blend, blend, blend...

I'll be needing a new bronzer in a couple on months, Sisley PR office

Lovely pics hollin

hollinhurst84 · 06/01/2017 21:34

Yes I think it was John Lewis that sells it
Samples... Let me think

hollinhurst84 · 06/01/2017 21:35

Here. They also do a few skincare samples, pixi glow tonic is one of them

I think if you have brown eyes blue mascara can be very nice. I personally hate thin brushes with a vengeance!
This week discovered KIKO have mascaras in all the colours but the burgundy one was sold out Xmas Angry

AuroraPolaris · 06/01/2017 21:38

I want this though

I think I'd be good with shade 1 in the Sisley. The Laura M one I use is very peachy. Have almost reached my self inflicted make up buying limit for this month so the foundation might be the one this time but The Concealer is firmly on The List.

bo I saw that set in store too and walked past it. Think it was just before these threads started.
Was it Phenoxyethanol that you said could only be a max of 1%? Because if so the HA in the foundation is really low. Think it must be being added to things just look good as it's the latest miracle ingredient. Wish they wouldn't.

hollinhurst84 · 06/01/2017 21:39

Colour match pot for foundation for £1

EnidButton · 06/01/2017 21:40

Thank you Hollin! Star

AuroraPolaris · 06/01/2017 21:41

Years ago MUFE pancake was my thing... remember? When the thing was to whiten your face slightly? Xmas GrinXmas Shock

botemp · 06/01/2017 21:48

I want that too, Aurora, even though it does look vaguely like lady bits Shock. I like the look of this too, but not so much the outer casing, tsk tsk, Sisley.

Next time ICI is having 40% off mascaras I'm stocking up

Oh I forgot! I got an order from makeup revolution today and they included a free eyeshadow palette as a sorry for slow delivery. It wasn't slow, but I'll take the free stuff Grin

botemp · 06/01/2017 21:52

Yes, Phenoxyethanol is capped at 1%.

OP posts:
botemp · 06/01/2017 21:54

Free stuff is supposed to go to me!! I do concede, however, that you Hollin deserve it more than anyone on account of stupid neighbour and evil car bumpers.

OP posts:
hollinhurst84 · 06/01/2017 21:56

I got a blur primer, the freedom HD concealer which has a built in brush thing and a blush/highlight palette
Free one is called run boy run and seems decent
I also blagged the Clinique lady into giving me a large foundation sample but suspect it may be too dark despite being the palest

EnidButton · 06/01/2017 22:22

Freebies in with orders are always welcome. Have ordered 4 different shade samples. They were out of ivory or that would've been in the basket too. Talked myself out of buying a powder and a cream blush whilst I was there so I'll be over here polishing my halo if anyone wants me.

EnidButton · 06/01/2017 22:29

Clinique shades are quite dark I think. They oxidise on me quite a bit too.

EnidButton · 06/01/2017 22:30

I want that too, Aurora, even though it does look vaguely like lady bits

Grin I thought exactly the same but didn't like to say. I'm terrible at keeping up today. I hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend.

AuroraPolaris · 06/01/2017 22:51

bo, Enid that was distinctly part of my initial fascination;)
But that other one is also very very pretty!

Haha, new (expensive) 2017 obsession we've got ourselves, ladies! And it's only the first week of January...

Bo: "a few other masks in sample form that is, Storm." You know me so well Blush*

Thanks, will check them out! The first glam glow set is apparently in stock near me, will have to have a look. Happy to post anything out to you* bo

How do you know what skin tone you have? I always just see red! I think I'm Cool toned (maybe)

aurora you'd never be able to use the pretty lady bits blusher!

AuroraPolaris · 06/01/2017 23:07

Na, I'd use it! I'm definitely not into saving stuff (live in the present) and I would laugh inside with glee every morning at the association, so would enjoy it x10!
