Even More Fantastic Skincare And Where To Find It

Thread 1

Thread 2

For those who are taking a peek and wondering whether thread 1and 2 are worth reading we mostly discuss a bit of advanced skincare here with a perspective of seeking out the right ingredients for our particular needs. Distinguishing the acid toners from the actives whilst avoiding the truly unimpressive and harmful ingredients with a hope to achieve a bit of anti-ageing, alleviate irritation and sensitivities with some idle chat in between deviations on this thread are mostly my fault. Xmas Grin

If you're in need of some advice coming to grips with your skincare routine please don't hesitate to ask, we don't bite, only occasionally sting with a bit of Biologique Recherche P50 now and then Xmas Wink. Just make sure to state clearly what your concerns and needs are, skincare is highly individual and a random recommendation for a 'good' product will be completely different from one person to the next.

If you want help, have read through the previous threads, but if you still have questions use the following form to make life easier on us. We generally answer up to two people a day on a first come first served basis. Not everyone will have answers and sometimes we can't answer you at all. We're only a bunch of amateurs that can respond by suggesting what we would do in your place, for any severe conditions please seek out professional help.

Well done hollin!

AuroraPolaris · 02/01/2017 22:56

Forgot one more thing -
Caudelie Vinosource Riche - very thick super rich cream I use when weather is very dry.

Well bo I will certainly still go back to dB. I didn't have a lot of time today so was concentrating on what I really wanted needed - cardi and/or jumper, blazer and the Furla bag, which wasn't there anymore.
Also saw nice Zoe Karsen jumpers/ sweatshirts but again her cuts are always so wide and it really doesn't suit me.

AuroraPolaris · 02/01/2017 22:59

Forgot to ask why do we still need the bloody Stilla palette now that we have the hocus pocus concealer?

botemp · 02/01/2017 23:07

I just want free stuff and am going mad with micro-influencer power Grin

I hope you're forwarding those bills upstairs, Hollin Grin

In other more brightening news, literally, been using the new and fancy BR P50 PIGM for about a week and a half now and it's bloody amazing in the brightening department. Didn't think I could improve much in that area but it's quite a feat. I'm curious how you'd find it in comparison to the regular P50 Aurora. Have also been able to use it without any additional BHA so I'm well pleased with it. Combined it with my Naruko magnolia mask (which I need to hurry up and finish as I noticed they're only good til May) which is an even more impressive combo.

botemp · 02/01/2017 23:13

In fact, Sisley should start sending me some free stuff. I mean I got you to buy a magic concealer and all, and you inspired me to buy it so you should get some too. Sisley for all!!!!!

OP posts:
AuroraPolaris · 02/01/2017 23:21

OK when we open our lab we'll do a proper scientific P50 comparison!

Yeah I think judging by our micro influencing we should not only get Sisley stuff but also free P50, TO, Benton etc and I should have Lotus Oil for life and they should bring back my cleanser!!!

hollinhurst84 · 02/01/2017 23:45

I'm still funding my spend with my mad eBay selling Wink so it's really just swapping... Not actual money < cough >

goldielookingchain · 02/01/2017 23:45

Aw sorry excuse me botemp, didn't mean to ignore your requests. I'd read the OP a few weeks ago, just been glancing through since but after the madness of December I would like a overhaul!

Skin type:- Dry
Age - 33
Primary concern - retaining my youth!! Grin

Routine :*
AM : Cleanse with Eucerin millecular water then Heliocare SPF 50* *

PM : nip and fab glycolic pad, skinceuticals c e Ferulic sometimes pai rosehip over top

Makeup : eg. no/light coverage/medium coverage/heavy coverage
Estée Lauder double wear

Occasional treatments:*
Once a week, Jan Marino glycolic wash, washed off with dermaflannel, then elemis papaya peel mask for 10 mins, cleansednoff then Elizabeth Arden 8hr cream over face.

Things I've tried in the past with disastrous results:*
Nothing too much but don't react well to salon/spa facials. They always make me a little sore and blotchy.

Things that are really working well for me now:*
Feel like my whole regime works well but I want to know about anything essential in missing!

Any dietary/health concerns/pregnant:*
Eczema to hands and neck (sometimes dry bits on face)

What I'm willing to spend on a single skincare item: eg. >£10, £10-20, £20-50, £50-100, no limits.
No limits to spend

I specifically [want help with/am looking for a product to/am curious about trying]:*
I am curious about trying anything new that would help with dry skin. Aging concerns around eyes and upper lip. Slight open pores on cheeks.

Thanks very much. Sorry about funny fonts! On phone copying and pasting

Forgot to mention lots of little red patches with no make up... not sure how clear this pic is

Cherryburn · 03/01/2017 07:55

UntamedShrew sorry for taking so long to get back to you but re the P&M Superstar...it does feel nourishing as it's in an oil base but you use so little of it that I wouldn't say it would do the job on its own if you need something really nourishing/hydrating. I sometimes apply it at around 9pm after cleansing then whack on something else (often the Omorovicza overnight mask) before bed.

Pupsiecola · 03/01/2017 09:03

I'm going to order some decant bottles. Someone recommended some a while back. Can't find it on this thread though. Was it you bo?

UntamedShrew · 03/01/2017 09:06

Thanks Cherry that is very helpful - and don't apologise, this time of year is so crazy and this thread stil moving on so fast! Love the sound of that mask, have seen it mentioned a few times on here now. Thank you!

SweetPeaPods · 03/01/2017 09:10

Marking place so I can go back and read through the thread then find it again...

botemp · 03/01/2017 11:05

Goldie, I'm on the go today so I'll answer you in full tomorrow but are you not cleansing in the PM at all, or using By form of moisturiser either?

Pupsie, yes, it was me. Kiko has good bottles that are flattened. So much easier to post, the ones I had got me nasty looks from the post office Blush.

Thanks Bo. Have ordered some so can get those P50W samples out :-)

Nabootique · 03/01/2017 13:47

Did someone say "Artemis"?

hollinhurst84 · 03/01/2017 13:49

I still have water coming through my ceiling
Today's compensatory spending - a soap and glory half price gift box, boots botanics cream cleanser ( love this for AM) and boots own sensitive eye makeup remover BlushGrin
In my defence the management company are now sending a plumber out as the guy refuses to ring one and he told me to switch the electric off and get out...

JDSTER · 03/01/2017 13:52

Deciem have reformulated some products which reduce unwanted hair growth for face and body called 'inhibitif' which may be of interest to some (just listed on victoriahealth)

Also NIOD will be releasing SPFs around March time. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

There's an article here on sugar detox (I definitely need to cut down the sugar, it's been a bad month!)

www.victoriahealth.com/editorial/can-you-detox-sugar-1

EnidButton · 03/01/2017 14:34

Pupsie If you have any spare, would I be able to have a little decant of the p50w please? Only if you can though, I don't know who else wanted one so don't want you sending loads out.

I've ordered the Corsx bha. Says it'll take a week and a half to arrive. Think I'll try it on my chin area too.

I have a lot of red marks up my cheeks atm from the breakouts over Christmas. The marks last ages, think it'd because I'm so pale. So annoying to look spotty when I actually only have one small one. Something for that is next on my list.

Haven't had any sugar since New Year's Eve. Smile Think it usually takes about 2 weeks to see the difference.

Bought an Urban Decay blusher that's supposed to last 8+ hours. Need one that doesn't need reapplying all the time.

Hope you get your ceiling sorted out asap Hollin

EnidButton · 03/01/2017 14:36

Oh and I would've added the Stila palette to my order but Feel Unique have sold out and I didn't want to do a separate order somewhere else. It was so late.

AuroraPolaris · 03/01/2017 15:31

Enid - do you have a clay mask like the Catiier? Maybe if you mix it with a bit of oil (resohip or rice) and apply a blob on the spot for 3-5 minutes a few days in a row it might help the marks?

Poor hollin! Hope you have somewhere to stay till the deluge is over....

JDSTER just PMed you back. Thanks for the tip the the SPF, which is something I will be very inveterested in!

Good tip for whoever wants to quit/ reduce sugar. In case you haven't watched it - watch the film "That Sugar Film" on YouTube. I promise you you'll want to wretch so badly, you won't want to ingest sugar for a long time!
(Only hollin is allowed sugar now ;)

AuroraPolaris · 03/01/2017 15:33

but Lindt have 99% cocoa chocolate and Hotel Chocolat have little (though expensive) 100% bars

AuroraPolaris · 03/01/2017 15:41

goldie - has the eczema on your arms and neck been diagnosed by the derm?
I've had major success eliminating my son's severe eczema with diet and some DIY silica stuff. It's been gone for a few years now. If you are interested I can write you a longer message later.
Are you allergic or intolerant to anything?

EnidButton · 03/01/2017 16:41

Aurora I have a few clay masks but not that one. Could try it with an origins one though, thank you. Haven't found an oil I get on with yet. An oil is on the list after acid. Smile They usually do wonders for about a week and then I start breaking out with them. Most annoying as the idea of an oil really appeals to me. Fine with oil cleansing just the ones that are left on.
