Bought 3 party dresses, help me choose one!

Posted earlier about a bright pink dress for my work Xmas do, but decided to follow advice and find something else. So I went late night shopping and couldn't choose between three dresses so I bought them all and will return two of them once I've made up my mind. Please tell me your favorites and help me choose!

I'm 38, 5'4" and the do is dinner and dance in a hotel. Hope the links work:

In order
1,3,2
Really not a fan of number 2 though
1 is very sophisticated and classy which seems to me a perfect look for a work do although I guess that may depend on what your job is!

1 or 3, depending on what you want to put across. 1 is more sophisticated, and 3 is more flirty. There's nothing wrong with 2, but it's a bit meh compared to the others.

Depends how they look on you. All of them look good to me. I think I prefer 1 though.

As for the mutton dressed as lamb nonsense, what tosh!!!!

1 is very elegant but what bra will you wear?
Not mad on 2
3 is a proper party dress that will definitely make you twirl round the dance floor.

I'd choose 1 with some big sucky-in pants

3,1,2 but not keen on 2 as it's short

Well, I think at 38 you are still young so no 1, although lovely, is a bit older whereas 2 and 3 are younger. Then 3 is best for being more partyish.

So, 3 gets my vote!

Wondering how old likerain is? I was thinking 38 is lamb (I'm 51) rather than mutton!

I'm the same age and height as you, and think they are all lovely. My vote is for 1 or 3, post some pics with both and we'll give a definitive answer!!😀

1 or 3. 2 is a bit blah and outdated.

Number one is fab! I'm desperate for a dress and there is a quiz in town which I have never stepped foot in. May go seek it out today.

1 is lovely but not so much for a party, more a quiet dinner Imo.

2 is a little blend into the back ground, sorry.

3 is very elegant, you could do a quiet dinner, a posh lunch or a party and it would work. Not too much flesh on show but what you do show is flattering.

Mutton dressed as lamb? :( Surely not at 38 in an elegant dress, whats age inappropriate about it?

1 is boring. 2 is ok. 3 is lovely.

I really like no3 and no2 2nd. The first one is a bit meh IMO. But with saying that it's too hard to say without seeing them on you. It could be a whole new story once we've seen them in real life! Grin

Wow, such differing opinions! DH's photos were really dark so I've just covered myself and the floor in glitter again and had another go at taking photos. I am SO not the queen of selfies! Hope these work...

Looking at the links alone, I was about to say number 3.

But looking at your photos, definitely number 1. You really suit it.

Oh gosh, I'd say no1 or no3 but I wasn't keen on number 1 but it suits you the best!

Definitely 1 (I was team 3 before)

Worried I'm frumpy now Sad

I always liked one and seeing it on you confirms it. You look great! It's not frumpy it's just not something a teenager would wear but that's hardly a bad thing

1 looks fantastic on you. You have just the right kind of neat figure to pull that dress off and also, I think, the right colouring. Go for it!

No, don't take it that way! 1 suits your shape the best, that's all.

Isn't it funny how one dress looks different on different people? I'm clearly not a model! Thanks for your reassurances though. I'm going to have to search my knicker drawer for a big pair of sucky in pants Blush The first dress will be fine if I don't eat too much - I blast after eating and I'll end up with a food baby if I'm not careful Shock

Wonder if I'll get away with nude heels that don't cut into my feet like these black sandals
