If you are a size 12 or 10 but have really curvy hips and arse...

... Have you found jeans that fit you? I mean really really actually fit you, not ones that squeeze your bum flat, or squish your hip flesh in awkwardly, or worse still, fit your bottom half fine but you get that dreaded huge gap at your back above the bum. Sad

I have never ever owned a pair of jeans that fit like a proverbial glove. Ever.

There must be one pair out there for me surely??

They are nicer in real life .

Mrsmaudwatts · 01/12/2016 15:04

I also like phase eight jeans. They don't seem to do many styles now, but I buy the old styles on ebay. The seem cut for ample arses!

KatharinaRosalie · 01/12/2016 16:38

And what if you don't like skinnies/jeggings? I'm a size 10 with a butt, but strong calves and look like I have sausages for legs in any kind of skinny jean.
Skinnes are all that's out there though, or baggy boyfriend jeans. Or flares.

Any recommendations for a nice straight leg pair?

leedy · 01/12/2016 16:53

"And what if you don't like skinnies/jeggings?"

Paige Jimmy Jimmy are billed as "skinny boyfriend" but they're basically straight leg and work fine on the, er, sturdier of hip and leg. I think Gap girlfriend jeans are fairly straight-leg as well, though I've only tried the trouser version rather than the denim ones.

imjessie · 01/12/2016 16:58

I've got nice straight leg jeans from gap .

NeedATrim · 02/12/2016 11:04

Don't you like bootcut Katharina?

OP posts:
KatharinaRosalie · 02/12/2016 11:10

Not too big fan of the bootcut, but it's better than skinnies

TheMortificadosDragon · 02/12/2016 11:38

Slim leg, though there are fewer around at the moment than there were last year. M&S as I mentioned already, previously had good ones from Next too but don't know if they have any currently.

ploddingalong2 · 02/12/2016 11:45

Oasis skinny jeans are great for me (size 10, small waist, larger bum and thighs). I think I have the cherry ones. They are a decent thick denim with a bit of stretch. They sometimes slip down a bit (I've never found jeans that don't) so I wear a stretchy belt.

NeedATrim · 02/12/2016 14:01

There was a thread a few months ago where next jeans were slated as many mumsnetters found they stretch out of shape after a few wears and the material is shit. Tbh next has never grabbed my attention and reading that has put me right off.

I hate the bloody sag. The last jeans bought from M&S already droop down and go saggy near the crutch and they won't stay put on the hip. Sagging builders arse anyone? I wore them 3 times before washing drying once and now they're redundant. I'm wearing jeggings right now and I'm already contemplating taking them off in favour for my superdrys as I'm fed up with yanking these up.
I. Live in trackie bottoms, hareem trousers, and pj bottoms. No wonder I don't look put together.

I like bootcut. I also like flares too Smile but I've always been into ethnic/hippie wear myself.

charliethebear · 02/12/2016 14:14

I am 25 waist 37 hip so same ratio but maybe a size down? And I wear topshop Cain jeans which are very similar to their Jamie jeans but a bit less Lycra so I find they suit my bum/thighs a a bit better. They are the best fitting jeans for me ever. I wear a size 10 in them.
I also bought a pair of straight leg jeans from Primark the other day in an 8(am normally a 10) which fit perfectly, which was great as I've never bought from Primark before as they never fit. I think they are supposed to be baggier on the thigh/bum area but are tightish on mine and still look good.
I definitely think high waisted are your best bet.

imjessie · 02/12/2016 17:44

That's why I Size down in the next ones . I'm not usually a fan of next to be honest but my friend had a pair and I liked the wash of the denim. .. I'm wearing my oasis cherry in dark denim today and they stay tight all day and are good for my big bum and thighs .

NeedATrim · 03/12/2016 15:16

Charlie - spot on, I'm a 12 thereabouts and high waist is my best friend. Less hope of muffin top that way.

Thanks Jessie, I've an Oasis in my closest shopping park so if they still do them by the time I get over there to try then on perhaps they'll fit. Are they expensive?

Ok well I'm feeling positive. I bought a pair of Levi Bolds for a really really good price just now on Ebay auction. I sooo bloody hope they fit. prays

Ploddingalong and jessie both recommend the cherry.

OP posts:
FishSauce555 · 03/12/2016 15:28

Needatrim it may have been mentioned but have you tried primarks high waisted premium skinnies?

I am slightly smaller on the hips/bum but the same waist. I wear them everyday for work but do have to wear a belt... maybe worth a shot though as they are so cheap!

imjessie · 03/12/2016 15:49

Yes they still do them , they have changed a bit though And made them sort of sculpting . Worth a try though . I have a new pair and an old pair . New is an 8 and old is a 10 . I would say about the same size ... by the way I tried on next 360 jeans yesterday which have been raved about on here and they were nasty !! Like cheap joggings .. avoid !!

imjessie · 03/12/2016 15:50

They are around £50 but if you try them you may be able to get a discount code and buy online ?

NeedATrim · 03/12/2016 17:36

Tbh nearly everything I buy I check online for codes first and/or then I scour ebay for good quality second hands. I could probably buy new, I know DH would never complain or mind but I feel guilty to spend money on myself, it's so stupid and I don't know why! Nothing of mine fashion wise is new new, its 2nd hand/massively reduced new. And on the other hand I'll see no problem throwing money on items for everyone else even when it leaves me skint. My priorities are all over the place.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up Jessie because I intended to pop into next down my road to look for the 360s. And with a baby that aint no 20 minute thing.

Do you wear the belt because they are loose on your bum/hips Fishsauce, or because the cut of them makes them slip down? How cheap?

OP posts:
NeedATrim · 03/12/2016 17:43

Jessie, you have an 8 and a 10..yoy say the sizes are the same? That'd be vanity sizing yes? Because eBay have the cherry. I'm wondering if I go for the 12 or 10. Actually I'll message the sellers for measurements. Durr! Should've thought of that first.

OP posts:
imjessie · 03/12/2016 17:46

Can you show me the link and I'll tell you which ones I have and how they come up . The new ones are stretchier and I bought them tight so if they give I won't have wasted my money.

NeedATrim · 04/12/2016 10:36

Sure although all I've done is ebay search 'oasis cherry 12 jeans' and about 6 pairs have resulted.

OP posts:
FishSauce555 · 04/12/2016 16:28

Bit of both. There is a gap but with a belt (I use an elastic type one, terrible sexy) they are absolutely fine and stay up all day. Less then £15, £13 I think!

DailyMailSucksAss · 04/12/2016 18:46

Not a 12 but am curvy with a 28 waist and 43 inch hips. I love Gap's authentic range - not curvy but straight leg.

NeedATrim · 06/12/2016 16:33

Elastic belt. How tres haute couture. They don't sound too bad and for 13 quid I suppose they'll do for house jeans and no problem if they get wrecked.

I'm hoping the poster will get back on the wonderfits. I'm sorry, I've forgotten your name!

Another Gap vote. I'm going to have to give them a go aren't I?

Just awaiting my Levis to be delivered. Ooh Can't wait and I'm optimistic they'll be good but also in the back of my mind that little voice of experience is telling me don't hold my breath.
