If you are a size 12 or 10 but have really curvy hips and arse...

... Have you found jeans that fit you? I mean really really actually fit you, not ones that squeeze your bum flat, or squish your hip flesh in awkwardly, or worse still, fit your bottom half fine but you get that dreaded huge gap at your back above the bum. Sad

I have never ever owned a pair of jeans that fit like a proverbial glove. Ever.

There must be one pair out there for me surely??

OP I'm quite curvy in the hips and between a 10-12, I buy Dorothy Perkins Frankie skinny jeans and they really do fit like a glove on me

TowerRose · 01/12/2016 08:05

I do size up to a 12 in them though to make sure they're comfy!

NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 10:24

Thanks for all the input everyone. I'm trying to keep up with the messages. PP mentioned that m&s shrink and that's exactly what my new ones have done. Another 30quid down the drain I could have saved but noooo, give them a try I said, they'll do I said.
I've 28 waist. 34 inches around my pelvic hip bone (muffin top). 41 inches arse/hip. So if ANYONE has measurements same as me give or take one inch, please say which item works for you and I'm ebaying the shit out of it. FlowersFlowersFlowers

I'm 28 waist (on smallest part, far above belly button) and 39 hip (at widest). Work in a smart office so only really wear jeans at weekend, so rarely buy them. I've had my current pair of skinnies 2 years and they are definitely my holy grail jeans. They are £150 but I expect them to last me years.
Acne Studios Pin jeans
I saw them on a blogger who has a bum :) and went to buy them at Selfridges. They are perfect. Not too stretchy, fairly thick denim, and zero gaping at the back.

Mrsmaudwatts · 01/12/2016 11:49

Those adds wonderform are amazing

Mrsmaudwatts · 01/12/2016 11:49

Asda

ChadSexington · 01/12/2016 12:07

I have the same problem, I'm pretty much your measurements (ok, slightly larger but same ratio Sad). The only jeans I've found that don't gape at the back are 7 For All Mankind. OK, they are pricey but you can often pick them up in TK max for £30ish, or you can get great deals on eBay. At the cheaper end of the market, Uniqlo's relaxed skinny were nearly perfect, a little bit of gape but easily fixed with a belt. Not like some of the horrors out there - why don't they cut clothes for women with a waist? It's what we're famous for! H&M are particularly bad, I find.

41coffeeslater · 01/12/2016 12:39

Crew Clothing jeans are great. Even better if you live near an outlet store. For the first time I don't need a belt.

leedy · 01/12/2016 12:53

J Brand (several skinny styles, particularly the photo ready denim as it seems to give a bit over the, er, larger areas while not everywhere else), Paige Hoxton, Paige Jimmy Jimmy, Topshop Jamie. Also some of the Gap skinnies but they seem to have changed the cut. :(

I feel your pain, I am a 12 with a big arse and SO MANY THINGS either don't go over my bum/hips or gape horrendously at the waist.

imjessie · 01/12/2016 12:54

I am Size 10 and curvy . I have a small waist/ rib cage and big bum and legs . I just buy stretchy jeans . Those jeans in that pic look way too big for you .. go a few sizes smaller and wiggle in to them . If they have stretch they will go round your bum . I buy jeans from Tesco / h and m / Lee / diesel.. all over really .

imjessie · 01/12/2016 12:54

Oasis cherry are my newest pair . I bought an 8 and although they are tight they are nice and stay up more importantly !

NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 13:06

Ebay sell acne pin jeans though most are from overseas but half the price of rrp. I haven't got hardly a lot of money so that's alright. Ebay are quite good for the Levi bold curve too. I tried to find wonderfit two weeks ago after reading the reviews but typically no size 12,not even one pair hidden in the back of the rail. Every other size but 12!gah

H and m are shit shit shit. They seem cut for the straight up and down. Scandinavian cut my old boss used to call it. PP said to look at American sizing, funny as he said the same thing (ex clothing savvy turned restauranter(sp) business man who I moaned to nearly 15 years ago about not finding trousers to fit well). I tried on h and m (not every modal mind you, i gave uo after the third pair and left the changing room) but the ones I put on squashed everything in sides and back to give me a fat, flat arse. Sooo not attractive let me tell you.

Are 7 for mankind in its own section in tk maxx or are they mixed up with the other jeans and I need to rummage to find them?

OP posts:
ChadSexington · 01/12/2016 13:13

They'll be in with the other jeans in TK Maxx, you'll need to go hunting.

I've ordered a pair of the Asda Wonderfit after reading the rave reviews on here, I am SO hoping they will fit, it'll be great to have some cheaper jeans. I think Uniqlo have stopped making the relaxed skinny, now I remember...

NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 13:16

In my experience Imjessie, is that when I do that the stretch in the jeans gives out prematurely in the areas where I'm forcing the jeans to sit. Then they end up misshapen and sag/hang in the wrong place. I neeeeed a pair thats cut to accommodate a fuller figure. So far there's more joy locating Loch Nessie

OP posts:
NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 13:17

Bugger. No time for rummaging right now.

OP posts:
NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 13:20

Ooh if you remember and if you wouldn't mind posting your experience with those, Chad? They're cheap as well, something like 25quid aren't they. It'll be brilliant if they're good

Same problem here as all those up thread, my waist is a size 10 and my hips/thighs are on the size 14 end of a 12! I currently own a pair of top shop Jaime jeans - which have stretched so much they fall down after 8 months Sad and a diesel pair which still fit but squish my bum Confused
I would be interested to hear reviews of the not your daughters jeans? I am happy to spend if they will last... But I can't keep spending £60 odd pounds on each pair if they wear out so quickly!

ChadSexington · 01/12/2016 13:43

Will do - I'm awaiting the delivery.

novelsandnaps - I have tried a couple of times with NYDJ, but ended up with the wrong size! You should get a size down. Not managed to get some in the correct size as I wait for sales and the average sizes go quickly.

NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 13:51

I've never heard of not your daughters jeans! Funny name

imjessie · 01/12/2016 14:15

H and m are very hit and miss . I have some jeans from next which are good for everyday. Hang on and I'll find them .

imjessie · 01/12/2016 14:16

www.next.co.uk/gc160s4#370878 .. these .. size down though.

imjessie · 01/12/2016 14:19

I'm just wondering wether most of you buy tight jeans ? I always buy the smallest pair I can breathe in because they always give . Maybe this is the key to finding the right jeans ? Often they can look a bit squished in the beginning but give enough to accommodate the bum .. I do think maybe I have small hip bones but it's just where I carry my weight rather than wide hip bones if that makes sense ? I'm hourglass rather than pear shaped .

NeedATrim · 01/12/2016 14:29

I don't ever try to size down, no. I'd never get a pair past my knees Grin I try on jeans according to my measurements according to the website measurements but I never have joy. I dunno what I'm doing wrong. Going a size up makes me look frumpy and like farmer giles.

PP who recommend the levis bold curve from experience - whats the rise and where do they sit? My waist is 28 but the pelvic bone hip area is a 34. So Im going to buy a pair from ebay but Im not sure which waist size to buy. Help!!

imjessie · 01/12/2016 14:49

Weird .. the next Ones I've linked too come up big as they 10 was massive on me . Maybe worth a try ?
