Bo so odd that you should mention Helena Rubenstein as the brand popped into my head the other day and I googled it to see if it was still around. I had the perfect nudey nail polish there in the late 90s that I repurchased several times.

I think I did buy the NeoStrata from Amazon but there are other places that sell it too. I'm at football training atm but can look it up later if needs be.

Ok

What is this ICI you all keep referring to? I'm definitely in the mood for make up and skincare shopping Grin

Thanks for the feedback on the NIOD HA, dying to try something from NIOD but think I will leave that for now.

Interesting you say the niacinamide in that concentration might be irritating Bo, I've been using it twice a day and think my chin this morning does look s bit red. Will cut it back to once a day. I use it right after cleansing.

I've always drifted towards bronzer to put colour in my face as there is plenty of red already and blushers, to my eye, seem to accentuate it. Esp as the day wears on. Am currently playing with the Rosie one from m&s as I liked in on a model recommends. Time will tell!

Keep me posted on your specialists biews bo! Am v interested Smile the doses I picked out were recommended in a book called it starts with the egg As we've been trying unsuccessfully for dc3. My doses might be a bit skewed for someone not trying to prime their fertility?

AuroraPolaris · 10/12/2016 11:07

They have already shipped the blush, so it's probably just December post. But I'm not that impatient Xmas Wink

Had a HR mascara years ago after a very gorgeous friend of SM said she loved it and SM convinced me to step away from Lancôme. Was rubbish (compared to Lancôme) as was EA I bought about three years ago.

Speaking of blushes - those perfecting powders like Les Beiges or Guerlain Joli Teint are also very good for winter provided you get the right shade that gives you that invisible extra little help Xmas Wink

AuroraPolaris · 10/12/2016 11:10

ICI is a high endish drug store chain here in The Netherlands that keeps tempting bo and myself with very tempting offers like 40% on all mascaras....

Oooogle · 10/12/2016 11:30

Foundation question please Xmas Smile

I have dry, hormonal skin that I've used ELDW on for too long now. I want a full coverage foundation to cover my pigmentation issues but not one that feels like paint. I've narrowed it down to 3 options and would be grateful if the gurus could tell me if the ingredients will be ok for my skin type...

(Rather than flood the page with long lists of ingredients, I'll post links if that's ok)

LRP Toleraine Teint Foundation www.laroche-posay.ie/product-treatments/Toleriane-Teint/Toleriane-Teint-Fluid-Foundation-p3999.aspx

Flowers thank you

Chrisinthemorning · 10/12/2016 11:43

I only wear make up when I go out in an evening and sometimes BB cream during the day at the weekend. Never for work.
Many thanks again Xmas Smile

botemp · 10/12/2016 12:03

Most of the Niacinamide studies are done at 4-5% so those are considered normal doses. At 10% it becomes a little less harmless so caution is warranted. 2x a day definitely feels a bit much.

Yes ICI is what we call a perfumery here, they sit between the cheap drugstores and department stores, they sell a lot of perfumes and high end make up brands some of which are exclusive to them. Basically they're always offering 25% off, I rarely ever buy high end makeup at full price. Since our drugstores are pretty crappily stocked it's hardly worth the effort to seek out dupes and the price difference is smaller too.

Ooogle, like a pp are you sure your not dehydrated rather than dry?

botemp · 10/12/2016 12:09

Is the book American by any chance wilting? I find them to be a bit full on when it comes to medication and doses. I know they find it completely alien to not treat pcos with any forms of medication at all and metmorfin is standard whilst here they're quite adverse to it here.

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 10/12/2016 12:54

Lurker checking in. I've lost all my reading time in the past few days to this thread and the skincare ingredients one! You are a clever bunch Smile

I'm mid twenties but smoke and drink a lot of wine sometimes and it's showing. I noticed after I had my baby that I'd aged quite a bit. I've stupidly started smoking again after quitting when pregnant but I'm starting to limit it and will gradually cut down again. I know I still look fine but I'd like to look after myself more and put the breaks on the aging a bit.

My skincare routine until very recently has been non existent but I'd started making more of an effort in the past few weeks. I've also got blackheads and get hormonal and stress related spots. I'm really not sure what my skin type is to be honest. I'm beginning to think it's a bit dry, but I've always thought it was oily because of the spots.

I've currently got quite a few cheapy products to work through like simple/Nivea/body shop stuff but I'm aiming to build up a nice simple routine that suits my skin. I'd like to try some fancy masks as well. I've just ordered Biore KAO JAPAN AQUA RICH Sarasara SPF50+, because I've never worn sunscreen!

I feel like I want to create a spreadsheet Grin

wiltingfast · 10/12/2016 13:10

Bo, I just checked and the author i think is American. here is link they quote reviews from U.K. And Netherlands, as well as US. She basically reviewed the literature and then presents the best evidence and proposes a protocol depending on your own experience and history.

Indecisivejo · 10/12/2016 15:11

Thanks bo (and sorry someone else answered my niacinamide question too but forgot name Blush) I'm scared to buy it now, shall I? U can see now why I'm indecisive lol. What do you mean by buffering it?

Indecisivejo · 10/12/2016 15:11

Do u use it bo

hollinhurst84 · 10/12/2016 16:25

I have started my makeup. It won't look as good as I don't have enough eyelid space Sad but I will try!

Just need lipstick on

Fantastic Skincare And Where To Find It
botemp · 10/12/2016 20:32

You look lovely Hollin, upon closer inspection of the inspiration photo it looks like they faked the natural crease line and moved it up a bit as the drag queens do, she looks to have about the same lid space as you do but probably just goes around with her eyes half closed Grin. Have a fab night out!

Yes, I use the Niacinamide Jo. I already used lots of things with high % Nia before but I still notice that it's more potent. With buffering I mean you put in a smaller amount than you'd normally use into the Hylamide SubQ so you're getting about half a dose but you're still able to distribute it all over the face evenly, effectively diminishing the potency.

Scooby

If I have to guess I'd say you're combination with dehydration. Mid-twenties is about the time one becomes baffled with what this weird dryness is that turns out not to be dryness but dehydration (skin lacking in water as opposed to oil).

In terms of anti-ageing from your mid twenties on, it's SPF (which you're already onto, well done you ) and Vitamin C as collagen production starts to slow down and getting some form of hydration in through Hyaluronic Acid.

If you've been reading along you'll know by now for blackheads/SF it's usually the PC BHA 2% Liquid.

Now go make a spreadsheet Grin

It appears half of Amsterdam is lurking on this thread, finally got my act together to replenish my P50W supplies and it's bloody sold out ShockAngryShock Which one of you was it?!

However STOP THE PRESSES (or the digital age version of that expression, if that's even an expression in English, Halt your tweets? Refrain from facebooking? Do not share on instagram? Actually that all just sound like common sense advice)... ahem... where was I, oh yes groundbreaking news. There's a new P50! I have in my possession the new P50 PIGM 400. It has additional licorice root extract (fab ingredient had been looking into working into my routine somewhere in amongst all the TO stuff again, v. popular in Asia for inhibiting melanin production and brightening) and sits in between the P50W and V version and the normal P50 in terms of strength but does have Salycilic in it like the full strength. The Niacinamide has also moved up in the INCI so may be at a higher concentration (but this is guessing mostly). So you greedy hoarders have actually served me quite well otherwise I'd never have known of this new variation. I'll type up the INCI later (going to see if I can find it online somewhere first).

In other news, the Surratt blush held beautifully all day, in fact it's still there despite getting caught in the rain twice. I'm really happy with it although I do find the colour a bit safe, which is why I bought it but now I want to see them all .

AuroraPolaris · 10/12/2016 21:26

Whaaaat you went to DD today???? And you didn't call me??? Xmas Wink
How long did you spend there? Xmas GrinI could have come with the little hurricanes to rescue you!

Hmm...ponders....

botemp · 10/12/2016 22:17

Actually I was in and out lickety splick quick, he had exhausted himself with someone French in front of me Grin. I guess the blush was working for me, I apparently didn't need anything but the P50 delusional.

It came out end of November apparently. It looks like it's made for the Asian market, it's everything they'd want ingredient wise and perfect for those wanting to inhibit or resolve pigmentation. Couldn't find a full set of INCI so here goes:

Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 PIGM 400 (in bold denotes difference to P50 formula ingredient wise, I think I got them all):

Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Niacinamide, Sodium Gluconate, Lactic Acid, Sodium Lactate, Lactobacillus/Wasabia Japonica Root Ferment Extract, Magnesium Chloride, Mandelic Acid, Phytic Acid, Citric Acid, Gluconolactone, Magnesium Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Palmaria Palmata Extract, Levulinic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Salicylate, Spirea Ulmaria Extract, Vinegar (Acetum), Sodium Levulinate, Phenoxyethanol, Alcohol Den., Microcitrus Australasica Fruit Extract, Prunus Persica (Peach) Leaf Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Ascorbic Acid, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract.

Regular P50:

Water (Aqua), Gluconolactone, Lactic Acid, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Citric Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Magnesium Chloride, Malic Acid, Vinegar (Acetum), Phytic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Cochlearia Armoracia (Horseradish) Root Extract, Arctium Lappa Root (Burdock Root) Extract, Rumex Acetosa Leaf Extract, Myrtus Communis Extract, Commiphora Myrrha Resin Extract, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf Oil, Sulfur, Sorbitol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate

P50W:

Aqua, Gluconolactone, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Propylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Magnesium chloride, Malic Acid, Vinegar, Phytic acid, Citric Acid, Quillaja Saponaria Bark Extract, Cochlearia Armoracia Root Extract, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Sulfur, Allantoin, Sodium salicylate, Serine, Urea, Sorbitol, TEA-LACTATE, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Benzoate

P50V:

Water, Gluconolactone, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Lactic Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Vinegar, Magnesium chloride, Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Phytic acid, Spongilla Lacustris Spicule Extract, Yeast Extract, Cochlearia Armoracia Root Extract, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, Juglans Regia Seed Extract, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Sulfur, Sodium salicylate, Salicylic Acid, Sorbitol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Benzoate

So as visible from all the bold actually quite a different formula, it does seem to have alcohol in it, but the percentage is tiny (placed after phenoxyethanol so less than
