was the LE video (I think) that shows the Aerin blusher. I like that and the Illuminating Bronzer level 1, the best ever bronzer for pale skin (nowhere to be found anymore sadly), they're both brilliant. I think the Aerin brand never took off because it was quite expensive but the packaging, whilst looking lovely, is cheap plasticky and not weighted down like similar products at that price level. Also it tried to appeal to that well kept WASPY preppy NY look (basically Aerin Lauder), not so showy/sexy and I think more suitable to a limited skin tone range. It's a shame because it was a very nicely curated collection (I think the rose lip balm was also much loved) but it just didn't reach the market it wanted to I think. The fragrances do sell well it seems.
That is the one hollin, and now I want to go splurge at Selfridges...
jo, if even the toleriane fluid (so not the ultra fluid to avoid confusion) irritated you I think squalane would be one to avoid. It's very frustrating, especially on here sometimes when people think everyone should just suffice with some Aldi moisturiser and you're a fool to spend more than that on skincare, it really isn't that simple
.
Dulci, if I didn't loathe London around Christmas time (far too busy everywhere) I'd be very tempted to pop over to peruse the Surratt offerings it makes economic sense in my head if it avoids me buying a lot of duds, honest. I like the look of the lip crayons and have heard good things about their lipsliques too. In the US they've just released a whole new set of colours for blushes and eyeshadows so I'll be curious to see when they come over here. It seems they also don't play the social media PR game so there isn't much info on them out there but what is, is thankfully honest.
It was me with the Stila palette, not that I have it but that I heard it was good, always good to know my sources are reliable except now I want one
.
I've liked the lancome 24h too but unfortunately it oxidises on me during the day and it ends up a bit orange, was in the summer though, thankfully only ever sampled it but it was a bit of a disappointment.
Sorry, rum, I'd avoid. As a rule I don't trust any of the discount offerings on things like groupon and those secret sale sites when it comes to skincare, it's just not worth the risk and not like you'll be able to RP if it actually turns out to be good as those things are made for discount sales. Also, there is absolutely no evidence that Collagen does anything for the skin, whether used topically or ingested.
Haha shrew, the PC fanatics are terrifying. I think in concept Paula Begoun has a good outset, she wants people to be informed of what they're buying, what the different ingredients mean, etc. However, her cherry picking of certain scientific studies is very troublesome (the anti-alcohol stuff is based on studies performed on internal bodily tissues, not skin, many people do, however, find alcohol drying and is therefore somewhat undesirable in skincare).
I'm not sure about mixing them, jo. Why would you want to? I'd think it wouldn't penetrate as effectively when in a heavier base, but perhaps that's desirable as it (hopefully) sinks in over a longer time period throughout the day? Then again it could end up irritating as it has nowhere to go. You'd have to try and see and hold tight for possible consequences.
