Whats your natural hair colour?

DearMrDilkington · 05/11/2016 23:15

And are you happy with your natural colour or would you choose a different colour?
I'm in a nosy mood.

I'm naturally blonde but I've always wanted to be naturally brunette. Many reasons why, but the main ones are the 'dumb blonde jokes', the other is blonde hair makes my face look constantly washed out and tired.

My natural cour is dark blond with lots of grey. My coloud of choice for the last X number of years is a mid cool blond - there's no way I would go natural!

bikerlou · 05/11/2016 23:27

My hair colour is a revolting blondish/brown "mouse" so I have been dying it since I was 14. I let a bit grow out recently to see what was happening and it was mouse with plentiful streaks of grey so it was back to the Clairol medium ash blond pretty quick.

CremeEggThief · 05/11/2016 23:27

Naturally very dark brown, which has lightened to a medium brown, first naturally and now with a little help, over the years. I prefer it darker, but in all honesty, slightly lighter probably suits my colouring more. I would love to have the courage to dye it black though, just once...

SpeckledyBanana · 05/11/2016 23:28

Gunmetal grey these days, sadly. I dye it back to my original mouse.

DearMrDilkington · 05/11/2016 23:30

biker I always wanted that mousy blonde/Brown colour all through high school, I used to be so jealous of girls who had that natural colour!

Very dark, chocolate brown. I have honey coloured highlights in it at the moment but might go back to my natural colour soon.

nancy75 · 05/11/2016 23:32

Almost black, although I now have a few greys which stick out like a sore thumb!

DearMrDilkington · 05/11/2016 23:32

Kim your hair sounds lovely!

My natural colour used to be jet black. I was then red for almost 20 years, every shade of red possibile. I then went blonde. It started off a dirty brunette blonde and everytime I got the roots done it became lighter. That lasted about 5 years. Then I went brunette with a couple of blonde streaks. I can see from my roots that my natural hair colour is now grey. FFS.

Thatwaslulu · 05/11/2016 23:33

Dark brown originally but now mostly silvery grey. Currently it's pink.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 05/11/2016 23:34

Blonde. Im extremely pale and have freckles and don't actually think my natural colour suits me. I dye it ginger (like a proper copper colour, natural looking ginger) and it looks fab!

DearMrDilkington · 05/11/2016 23:34

I'm probably going to dye my hair a light brown for the winter months. I can get away with blonde in the summer when my skin is more tanned but I just look ill all winter with blonde hair.

I also find my hair looks much thicker and fuller when it's darker.

naturally, strawberry blonde with accents of grey. I dye it to approx the colour it goes in summer (a shade or two lighter than natural). Thankfully if I'm tardy with my roots it's not so noticeable because I don't dye it a dramatically different colour,

Given a choice I'd naturally have titian hair, but it's almost impossible to replicate it well with dye.

SinglePringle · 05/11/2016 23:36

I'm lucky; dark chocolate brown with natural mahogany, chestnut and honey highlights.

venys · 05/11/2016 23:37

Strawberry blonde although around the back its gone brown. I dont dye my hair - although used to. Happy to be without the faff and the chemicals.

DearMrDilkington · 05/11/2016 23:38

keeping I've never gone ginger before, do you do it yourself? I'm not sure I could pull it off, I've got very fair skin and hair but quite dark eyebrows for some reason!

Natural blonde, and I've always liked it. Never had any dumb blonde jokes, and it suits my complexion. I must have saved a fortune not having any colouring or highlights (other than from the sun) over the years...55 and its still the same. I guess it will be the sort that fades rather than greys, will have to wait and see.

winkywinkola · 05/11/2016 23:39

Crappy mouse brown.

Am bottle blonde but wish I had the colouring to be a beautiful chestnut. It just makes me look pale and drawn though.

alltouchedout · 05/11/2016 23:41

Brown. It's been 14 months since I stopped dying it and I am so bored and want to dye it again, but I promised myself I'd wait until till every single bit of frazzled previously dyed hair was gone (trimming it off bit by bit). I was various shades of red for years. I miss the red.

oldlaundbooth · 05/11/2016 23:43

Ash blonde. Don't dye it - dreading the day when I'll have to start.

Goes blonder in summer, darker in winter. Looks lots lighter when I've just washed it.

ijustwannadance · 05/11/2016 23:44

When I was younger it was dark blonde with lighter blonde and ginger highlights.
Now it's a really dull and flat dark blonde. Luckily very few greys.

Thank fuck for hair dye!

NinjaLeprechaun · 05/11/2016 23:45

Very, very dark brown with some hints of dark auburn. I'm nearly 45 and don't have a single grey hair.

I actually really love my hair colour, but have always not so secretly wanted to be a real redhead.

I tried dying it purple not long ago, but - not surprisingly - it barely shows up and I'm not willing to bleach it first.

Mistoffelees · 05/11/2016 23:48

No idea, some sort of brown? I've been dying it since I was around 18, it's now unnatural red with pinky toned highlights. I tried to go a bit more natural coloured a couple of years ago and went with a chocolatey brown colour and didn't like it at all, would bleach it and go with a purple wash if I thought I could get away with it for work.

CointreauVersial · 06/11/2016 00:46

Mid-brown, with a slight reddish tint. Which has been replaced in recent years by a slight grey-ish tint. My hair colour has never bothered me, and I've no intention of dyeing it.

WhiteHairReally · 06/11/2016 00:49

Guess!

First one turned up when I was 13.
It's a family trait. My children have started getting them too.
Hair dye has been part of my life for well over thirty years. Currently 'perimenopausal blonde'.
