Your best comfy skinny jeans please?

Hello. This thread is a little old now and some of the recommendations may be out of date. Whatever style you’re looking for, take a gander at our round-up of Mumsnetters’ favourite jeans for more recent suggestions. MNHQ.

I have Next and Zara skinnies too. Both feel nice and have washed and worn well

Bumblebzz · 21/10/2016 06:41

FCUK rebound skinnies

I tried on loads and these are fab: high waisted but unlike many others the waist doesn't 'gap', lovely soft material (and not thin so good for winter too) with plenty of stretch, good length (I'm 5'6") and at £69 not extortionate and I expect to wear them to death and get good value out of them.

Paris1986 · 21/10/2016 07:13

Thank you NicknameUsed and 50ShadesOfEarlGrey, I will give both of those a try and see - love my leggings but don't have enough long tops to cover my bum so jeggings etc is the way forward I think Wink

MaryField · 21/10/2016 07:39

I agree rivertam, I'm despairing of ever replacing my cheapo F&F skinny jeans that are falling apart after 4 years. I can't seem to find any skinnies that feel and hang like proper jeans. I'm 60 and legging style jeans with short tops are a no-no.

daisymai08 · 21/10/2016 07:53

River island Molly!

misterbig · 21/10/2016 08:47

I bought RI Molly after a recommendation on here. Bloody awful fit. They came up huge and weren't skinny to the ankle. Sagged after a couple of hours wear. Sent them back.

PotatoBread · 21/10/2016 08:57

You definitely need to size down in the RI Mollys

SuperFlyHigh · 21/10/2016 10:57

I did like some high waisted button skinny jeans (almost a navy blue) from Top Shop. they're nice.

all my others including H&M they changed the fit! Vero Moda skinny jeans are nice though.

ElaeudanlaTeiteia · 21/10/2016 13:23

Far and away my best pair are MiH - got them in TK Maxx for £29.99. Best jeans purchase ever.

Dancergirl · 22/10/2016 11:53

Actually you are right about RI Molly misterbig come to think of it. I do like the nice thick denim but they are not skinny to the ankle.

MumboNumber5 · 22/10/2016 18:47

Dotty P Eden

Sweatynetty · 22/10/2016 19:12

mumbo A year ago I would have agreed with you. But DP have fucked about improved them and changed the fabric. They are now thinner and feel (and SMELL Confused ) cheaper. They're awful now.

MightyMunki · 23/10/2016 00:25

I'm big fan of uniqlo jeans. They last forever! The denim is so soft, no sagging, good lengths too and skinny enough to tuck into boots neatly.

thisfalseinsight · 23/10/2016 07:49

I went through this whole thread and thought how has no one mentioned the Uniqlo jeans (until I came to your post, Mighty)?! They are fantastic - really high quality, perfect amount of stretch, hold up brilliantly, great cut, and proper denim (i.e. not jeggings material). The only thing is that they're very long (can't remember who upthread was looking for long jeans, but if you're tall these would be perfect). If you have a Uniqlo near you they will shorten them for you for free, but you need to go in-store for them to do that.

MrsLogicFromViz · 23/10/2016 08:49

YY to Uniqlo Ultra Stretch jeans, which are probably the best fitting and most comfortable skinnies I've ever worn. The rise is perfect too, plus I can get into a 32, but am hoping to lose weight and get down to a 30 eventually.

literallytotally · 23/10/2016 08:57

Are the m and s ones the £15 jeggins or the £25 5 pocket jeans?

NicknameUsed · 23/10/2016 09:00

Jeans are something I would never buy online. I have to try them on as I end up trying on umpteen pairs before finding a decent fit. So that makes Uniqlo a no from me.

MozzchopsThirty · 23/10/2016 09:04

River Island Molly are fab, I've got 4 pairs
They wash well, keep their shape and colour

nousernames · 23/10/2016 09:04

River Island Molly jeans for me too

purplemunkey · 23/10/2016 09:09

I'm short so need a 30 leg which makes standard high street quite tricky. I'm a big fan of Levi as I can get the shorter leg and staff are always super helpful. I used to love the demi curve skinnies and had three pairs - bought one, loved them then waited for a sale online to get to two more colours. They've stopped doing Curve ID now so bought 710 Flawless Super Skinny that arrived yesterday. They look and feel great, I'll have to see how they last through wear and washing but I've always had good experiences with Levi in the past.

pinkhorse · 23/10/2016 09:12

Definitely Levi! Staff are amazing and give fab tips on fit and washing etc.

M&s are huge and always end up buying a size or 2 smaller than everywhere else.

FrustratedFrugal · 23/10/2016 09:45

I love MiH too, their Vienna style has been my staple for years. Perfect for my needs. H&M also have several really good styles, I have found them by trying on masses instore until I get a perfect fit. These days, I am rarely wearing skinnies as straight leg is comfier, but when I do, these old friends still feel great.

BringMeTea · 23/10/2016 14:09

Do 100% cotton skinnies exist?

DoorOnTheRight · 23/10/2016 18:30

I treated myself to a new pair of Topshop Leigh skinnies today. My black ones are a bit faded now.

One of the best things about Topshop jeans is their eBay resale value - even after a fair amount of use, the return is impressive.

Judydreamsofhorses · 23/10/2016 18:37

I like All Saints Stilt - high waisted and a really good fit on me, although very long and need taking up.
