Can you help me choose a wedding dress? (pictures)

I'm not a big white dress kind of person but if you hate them both feel free to say!

Both exactly the same shape, just different colours and design at the top. I cannot for the life of me choose. Number one is pale pink. Number two is off white.

I like the design of the pink (although I'm not a pink fan) - do they do the same style but in white?

GinIsIn · 18/10/2016 12:19

The trouble with the cardigan is that it makes both dresses look a little bit kids party dress. Maybe a more fitted dress if you are absolutely welded to the cardie?

Dontyouopenthattrapdoor · 18/10/2016 12:19

Can you show us close ups of the bodices on both? At the moment I prefer the pink cos the embroidery isn't grabbing me on the right but it might look more special close up?

AllTheBabies · 18/10/2016 12:21

They don't lulu. Just pink or blue. I'm not really a pink person either but for some reason I'm okay with it here.

I like the white one.

I think the pink has a texture that diner go with the cardie, but that might be just the photo.

CrimsonKing · 18/10/2016 12:21

It would be interesting to see them with the zip done up as I suspect that will change the style of the dress and be a bit more form fitting which should look significantly better.

I also think you should experiment with different cardigans. It's not just a colour clash but also a fabric clash.

Also can you wear the pink top with the white skirt? It's not clear to me whether it is a one piece or a two piece. I think the white skirt would look better with the pink flowery top.

EllieM22 · 18/10/2016 12:23

The pink one not so fussed on but love you in the white one!!!

Mistletoekids · 18/10/2016 12:23

Sorry another person not a massive fan 😁

What's your budget can we help find something else?

ShowMeTheElf · 18/10/2016 12:23

Hate them, both, sorry.
I know you said they weren't done up so it's hard to judge fit but based on the photos neither are doing you any favours. Cardi is cute but you need a more shaped dress/fuller skirt to stop it looking as if you've slipped a bedjacket on over your nighty to put the milk bottles out (harsh and not as bad as that but...).

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 18/10/2016 12:23

I like the cardie as shape, but maybe a different colour?

Mind you, I'll probably be tempted to put a denim jacket on that. Don't mind me.

The pink is pretty. The white one is a bit bland.

But neither look good with the cardigan. It detracts from the pretty bodice and just doesn't go IMO.

botanically · 18/10/2016 12:27

White! The pink doesn't seem wedding-y to me.

You could dye it afterwards to get more use out of it. Dye it a nice aquamarine blue because it symbolises 'marital harmony and is said to ensure a long, happy marriage'. Romans used to give aquamarine engagement rings :)

AllTheBabies · 18/10/2016 12:27

I'm happy to hear the criticisms but I think I'm pretty set on one of these two dresses. They make me feel good and dp wouldn't care if I turned up in a bin bag Grin

Pink, without a doubt will be stunning.

Kidnapped · 18/10/2016 12:29

The pink.

Pretty, and yes, you'd get more wear out of it for other occasions.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 18/10/2016 12:29

What are your DC wearing?

CrimsonKing · 18/10/2016 12:30

If you are looking for that kind of design maybe something more like this?

Or something really simple like this:

CrimsonKing · 18/10/2016 12:31

Sorry just seen your latest post - please ignore links. If you are set on the dressed then at least try some different cardigans.

AllTheBabies · 18/10/2016 12:32

Dd1 will be about 7 so she's going to get a flower girl type monstrosity of a dress. Dd2 is currently 9 months so will be a toddler and in whatever I can wrestle on her. Don't know what sex as yet unborn dc3 is yet so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Number 2 wins hands down imo.It looks far more special than the first one.

It looks really lovely on you, your wearing the dress rather than it wearing you as they say.

AllTheBabies · 18/10/2016 12:34

Sorry crimson but I don't like them. I'm sure others would look lovely on them but they're not for me. Different strokes for different folks I guess Grin

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 18/10/2016 12:34

I'm voting on the pink one. Maybe you incorporate some lovely pink and white flowers in a bouquet too!

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 18/10/2016 12:37

Your DD will prefer the pink oneGrin
I don't suppose you like the blue one?!

MissWillaCather · 18/10/2016 12:38

The dresses are both nice, but the cardigan is awful, I agree, can't you just wear the dress without?

It just really spoils the look of it and ends in a bad place where the dress goes out.

If you really must wear something over it then what about a little shrug.,?
