FemelleReynard · 14/11/2016 14:21

Wow, some complicated, and expensive, routines in here!!

AM
Aldi cleasing gel
Aldi day cream with SPF

Evening
Aldi cleansing gel, or St Ives Apricot scrub if I'm feeling grubby/Cidal soap if I'm rushing and feeling spotty and want to 'clean' my skin
Simple toner
Aldi serum or coconut oil

Do a mask every so often, and exfoliate with the St Ives scrub probably 4 times a week.

GeorgiePeachie · 14/11/2016 15:42

Nothing.
don't wash my face in the morning or at night.
I have very sensitive skin and eczema so I don't wear make up except for weddings, dates and events or shows.
In the space in between I sometimes get dry skin on my face which I put palmers coco butter on for. (THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED) It's incredibly greasy and not okay for most people to use on their face because it will make them break out.
I've never worn make up every day. Even when I do wear it I will rarely put foundation on or anything like that. I sometimes wear powder if I'm going to be under lights

RabbitSaysWoof · 14/11/2016 15:48

Age 36 Iv'e always had combination skin.
I use garnier pure active 3 in 1 morning and night, around once a week I leave it on for 5 mins as a mask.
I use Aldi Q10 serum after.
I take Imedeen Derma One supplements.

ExConstance · 14/11/2016 16:01

Clinique 3 step - I'm 60 and my mother is 90, we have both been doing this for 35 years now and have lovely skin.

shovetheholly · 14/11/2016 16:05

Bloody hell, you guys know all this amazing stuff. How do you even find out about this? I feel like you are all masons with the secret handshake and I have no clue what is happening.

Mine is: soap and water at night, bit of baby oil to take off mascara if needed (rarely). Aldi caviar cream morning and evening.

Fresta · 14/11/2016 16:38

43 by the way and I wear a foundation with SPF all the time and in summer (april-october) I wear moisturiser with SPF. My skin still looks terrible- it's oily and I suffer from keratosis pillaris despite trying every skincare routine going.

Alternate days Nip and Fab glycolic pads
Nivea q10 serum which has hyaluronic acid

crystalgall · 14/11/2016 16:41

Ooh I forgot I alternate Nivea night cream and the Cerave PM one

LumpySpacedPrincess · 14/11/2016 17:21

Why wouldn't it be pinkpop? Confused

LumpySpacedPrincess · 14/11/2016 17:24

crystal, have a look at The Ordinary range for Vitamin C, I also like the OST C20 serum, noth effective ascorbic acid serums.

What sort of night serum are you after, any particular ingredient you like or issue you want to address?

Pupsiecola · 14/11/2016 18:11

Those asking for recommendations come on over to the Skincare Ingredients thread.

likeavirgo · 14/11/2016 19:03

I have combination skin that is acne prone. I'm 32 years old and often feel like I have teenage skin!!

In the mornings:-

Cleanse with Lush CoalFace
Apply Skinoren (an acne medication with azelaic acid)
Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream

In the evenings:-

Precleanse with Una Brennan Miracle Makeover Facial Oil
Double cleanse with Lush CoalFace
Exfoliate with Lush OceanSalt/ Paula's Choice 2% BHA Solution (alternate)
Lush Cosmetic Warrior or Origins Clear Improvements Clay Mask (1-2 times a week)
Skinoren cream when suffering a bad breakout, if not, I'll use Alpha H Liquid Gold
Indeed Hydraluron Moisturiser

crystalgall · 14/11/2016 19:09

Hi lumpy. I have acne scarring and marks on my face. And still get hormonal acne on my jaw

pinkpop00 · 14/11/2016 20:02

it just seems so complicated. I truly hadn't realised people actually used so many products. I use a flannel and soap and either pound shop or simple moisturiser and i think my skin is pretty good despite being early 40s. Intrigued.
Do these products really make a difference? I always believed it was exercise and good diet that gave a healthy glow and that these products were expensive because of the advertising and packaging. I thought most people thought the same!

Pupsiecola · 14/11/2016 20:24

Pink from what I've read on the other thread and from other research there are a handful of specific ingredients which do make a difference. I started that thread because it suddenly dawned on me that I wanted to hone in on those specifics rather than be sucked in by some fancy named product with marketing spiel. That's what I've done. I've been under the care of a dermatologist in the past and have specific concerns. So I'm trying to address those via specific ingredients. Also, from my experience, once you get to mid to late 40s your skin can change a lot. So what you did before might not give the desired results.

MiriAmmerman · 14/11/2016 20:33

AM: Aldi Lacura Gentle Face Wash Gel in the shower, followed by Aldi Lacura Q10 day cream (SPF 20).

PM: Take make up off with Aldi Lacura sensitive wipes. Then cleanse with Superfacialist Una Brennan creamy cleanser (the Rose one) and a hot muslin. Followed by a Clearasil salicylic acid pad and Aldi Lacura Q10 night cream.

I'm 31 with a slight tendency to spots. Skin is pretty reactive and sensitive. It has genuinely never looked better. Feel like I've finally cracked it over the past year hope I'm not tempting fate wish Aldi would make a cream to get rid of my moustache Grin

oldlaundbooth · 14/11/2016 20:45

Hmm, I clearly need to do some work!

Use clinique soap to wash face, AM.
Biotherm moisturiser if skin feels tight.

Use baby lotion to remove make-up at night, wipe off with a baby wipe. Don't usually moisturise but if dry put more Biotherm or baby lotion. Sometimes use Astral in winter if skin's very dry.

I drink loads of water, don't smoke and don't drink much alcohol. Try to sleep as much as possible. Sunbathed lots in my misspent youth but avoid it now, I'm fairly pale and worry about the effects.

Worked for Boots when I was younger and used to get free skincare stuff, ranging from their own brand stuff to Lancome et. For me it's a waste of money, main thing is drinking water and moisturiser. But touch wood I've never had skin problems. Think it's a lot about genetics too.

Hereforthebeer · 14/11/2016 21:32

I can't take hand luggage on holiday anymore as my 100ml bottles of products cannot fit in the clear plastic bag Blush[big grin]

I have rosacea so I feel I can justify it. Absolutely swear by Mama Nature, pro=skin rosacea, if i run out, i get a rosacea break out within a couple of days :( Really like Avene products (especially the serum). If my skin gets really dry I use Vitamin E oil. Ponds cleanser is brilliant for my dry skin too.

This summer I discovered Clarins 50+ daily sunscreen, which is great too.

user1469928875 · 14/11/2016 23:46

LOVE Pond's cleanser!!! Miss the old design of the little jar though and wonder if the cold cream is slightly less think now than it used to be? My Grandma used this every day and her skin was immaculate - not a wrinkle or a pore in sight - I always have pond's in apart from that I like it - it reminds me of her
