Hi i have skin that scars easily and i get spots some months with my period. I can have weeks of lovely skin then all of a sudden a few weeks of looking like a teenager. Im told i look younger but compared to my family im aging, they have a super young gene which i fear has bypassed me a little.

Am
Softymo deep oil cleanser
Avon anew deep line treatment cream
Mizon suboon Hyluauronic cream
Biore watery essence spf 50

Pm
Softymo deep oil cleanser
Clearasil hydrablast cleanser
Avon eye cream again and a dark circle one
Superdrug youth glycolic serum
Mizon Suboon cream
Garnier pure a night treatment if i get a spot but they have discontinued this and im gutted.
Mizon good night white mask on my neck

Cream body with palmers cream
Avon anew eventone hand cream on my knees, elbows, bum and feet.

Im adding in the ordinary vit c and hylauronic acid next week and maybe the ordinary niacinamide.

I follow an asian beauty type routine and add in glycolic acid treatment, overnight masks, undereye patches and foot socks throughout the month but not weekly ( im a bit lazy), all korean brands except the glycolic acid peel bought from ebay and avon and super drug things but not sure if im repurchasing those.

Sensitive skin with rosacea, prone to cystic acne (but under control at the mo) also get hyper pigmentation from spots or virtually anything. Also have large pores. It's a tricky mix and have had to do lots of research and trial and error but it is now in good shape. Am in mid 40's

Main skincare thing is I drink around 3 litres of water a day, also take various vits but routine otherwise is:

AM
Spray with cristalline thermal water
massage with Uriage Rosealiac cleanser - remove with tepid water and pat dry
Rose water toner - remove with cotton pad
Apply Rosex gel for rosacea
Apply vit c serum on dark spots
Avene eye cream
Moisture face and neck - either LRP anthelios 50+ or Avene anti-rougeurs SPF20 (weather depending)
Hand cream (dermaphil anti-age or LRP anthelios again)

If I have any sensitive flare-ups ( seb derm on forehead/eyebrows sometimes) I use topicreme cicaplast with soothe them right down
Spots get zapped with LRP effaclar

PM
remove make-up with bioderma crealine
Cleanse with rice bran oil and remove with hot water/cotton pad
Rosex gel again
Sanoflore essence
Hyaluronic acid (the ordinary) on face and hands
A313 (retin-a) on dark pigment spots or on any burgeoning spots and on neck

A couple of times a week I'll do a mask - cattier calming pink clay or dr Haushka ultra hydrating. Sometimes mix this with sandalwood powder for a gentle exfoliate.

I also use a jade roller at night a few times a week to decongest.
I try to switch out with night time moisturisers depending on what my skin is doing...I have a heavy lavender and manuka honey one I like plus a hydrating Darphin one.

Am on the hunt for a good mattifier/pore minimiser as I tend to react to any silicone filler ones. Make-up is a whole other topic!!

ChickenVindaloo · 15/10/2016 22:51

GOOD THREAD!

AM:
Avene extremely gentle cleanser
Paula's choice BHA 2 per cent lotion
Avene anti-redness SPF moisturiser

PM:
Nivea eye make up remover
Avene Extremely gentle cleanser
Pixi glow tonic
Retin-A

ChickenVindaloo · 15/10/2016 22:58

I'm 33 with my PCOS type acne now under control.
I have only one teeny tiny wrinkle so far (near my mouth as I use it too much!)

I don't use retin-a every night. Plain avene moisturiser other nights.
Some nights I do a clay mask.
And I've started using a dermaroller followed by 20 per cent vitamin c serum.

goldielookingchain · 15/10/2016 23:00

Am - heliocare ultra

Pm - nip n fab glycolic cleansing pads
Alternate nights

  1. Dermaceutic C25 serum
  2. Tretinoin

Over top before bed rosehip oil

SimonLeBonOnAndOn · 15/10/2016 23:01

Morning

First Aid beauty glycolic pads
Aldi hyauloron serum
Eucerin hyalauronic moisturiser
Eucerin hylauron eye cream

Night
Micellar water cleanser
Boots botanics anti ageing facial oil

I take solgar collagen and hylauron supplements daily.
Also have a dermoroller which I use once a month followed by a gold collagen mask that I get off eBay.

ChickenVindaloo · 15/10/2016 23:03

I also forgot to say that I use La Roche Posay comfort cream SPF 50 in place of usual moisturiser in the summer AM.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 15/10/2016 23:04

Really intrigued by those who had acne that is now under control as this is my biggest beauty problem at the moment.
Have had oral and topical antibiotics. ££££££on skincare. Nothing has ever worked.

Currently:
AM
Antipodes or Sunday Riley cleanser
Sometimes acid tone
Serozinc
Skin owl eye cream
Body shop drops of light moisturiser (don't recommend)

PM
Balm or oil cleanse to remove make up
Cleanser as above
Sometimes acid tone pixi/liquid gold
Vitamin E mist
Eye as above
rEN serum
Moisturiser or may lindstrom balm / Aurelia oil

dalmatianmad · 15/10/2016 23:10

Wash with soap, dry and I'm done....
Had no idea that people had such complicated routines Confused

dudsville · 15/10/2016 23:18

Whoa, I feel v uneducated reading this thread and don't know what a lot of this stuff is!

I use eve lom cleanser and use the cloths that come with as a polisher.
Followed by one of three khiels' facial serums
Followed by Khiels ultimate moisturiser, sometimes I use nivea in the blue tub instead.

I also had acne rosacea. Nowadays is just the redness though. I'm mid 40's. I think I look my age but I'm told I have good skin. I had to change from a boots brand face wash to things like the Liz Earl cleanser last year, and then this year to the eve lom, think it's due to a hormone shift.

dudsville · 15/10/2016 23:22

Shestood, I had the oral antibiotics for a few years. It wrecked my digestive system and wasn't a cure. In the end someone recommended I try the diet for managing candida and I swear, I did it for 6 months and have been fine since.

RubyGoat · 15/10/2016 23:29

I'm 35, perimenopausal, but with depressingly teenage skin. Sensitive, oily t-zone, painfully dry in winter & during hayfever season. It's way better than it used to be, though - due to 2 full courses of roaccutane during my 20's. I highly recommend it if you can deal with the side effects & the need to be on absolutely bulletproof contraceptives for at least 6 months.

Una Brennan vitamin C oil cleanser for removing makeup if I wear any
Lancome face wash
Garnier micellar water
Lancome serum (Visionnaire at night, Genifique in the morning)
Lancome moisturiser (to match the serum)

I rarely use scrubs, too harsh. I do have a dermal roller, but I only use it on scars (I have a couple of small facial scars) & hyperpigmentation following a spot. It works, slowly, but I don't like to use it too often as it can thicken the skin & can allegedly increase risk of skin cancer if you get sunburnt (I react badly to almost all sunscreen so tend just to cover up).

evelynj · 15/10/2016 23:43

Am

Cleanse with konjac sponge & water
Botanics rosewater spritz toner
Eye cream -Dennis gross is fave but been using eve lom, next, Clinique. All ok
Hyaluronic-oz naturals or the ordinary
Variety of other serums sometimes, snail repair, superdrug simply, tata harper
Light moisturiser-a.si caviar
Spf 50-biore watery essence on face & LRP Anthelios on neck & décolletage

Pm
Una Brennan vit c oil cleanser
Eve Lom/dermalogica/Emma hardie/any other hcc
Pixi glow
2-3 times a week retina a
Eye cream
Hyaluronic
Serum
Night cream or oil

SheStoodInTheStorm · 15/10/2016 23:50

Lego I've not long started a thread about Roaccutane - come join us!

ChickenVindaloo · 16/10/2016 01:01

Roaccutane was the only thing that worked for me!

jalopy · 16/10/2016 08:59

Cetaphil face wash
Organic cold pressed coconut oil to moisturise

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 16/10/2016 10:28

Am - la Roche possum effeclar wash and cream, followed by body shop vit c moisturiser. Pm - Micellar water, body shop camomile cleanser washed off with face cloth and either pixi glow toner or nip & fab pad and oils of life night cream. Age 36 combination skin.

DebiNewberry · 16/10/2016 11:52

Am - flannel, warm water, Laura mercier primer with spf in winter, lrp spf in summer,

Pm, Eve Lom, flannel. Then depends on my skin tbh.

Skin food as a mask, embryolisse, clarins face oil

I try to keep it simple, works better for my skin

LumpySpacedPrincess · 16/10/2016 14:02

I have dry skin with early signs of aging, I'm 45.

am - Thayers toner, Sulwhasoo low ph facial wash, Kikumasamune lotion, Hada Labo HA lotion, Cerave PM lotion, Cosrx Honey mask, Biore spf 50

pm - Double cleanse, Kikumasamune lotion, Hada Labo premium lotion, Ordinary Vit C or Ordinary Retinol 2%, Cosrx Snail 96, Vitamin E lotion, Cosrx Rice mask, some sort of oil.

I use acid every third night either Salicylic, Glycolic or Lactic. I also add a sheet mask in a couple of times a week, normally over serums but before heavier creams.

Follyfoot · 16/10/2016 14:09

I'm exhausted reading some of these routines Grin

In my 50's, dryish skin.

Morning
Wash face with flannel wrung out in hot water
Moisturise with No. 7 Protect and Perfect or Roc or Avon Anew or Aldi something or other - anything with an SPF really

Evening
Wash face again
Slap on a bit of moisturiser without spf, usually one of the makes above.

That's it really, suits my skin fine.

dannyglick · 16/10/2016 14:47

Early 50's, with normal/combination skin.
Night routine:
Liz Earle C&P
LE Skin Tonic
No7 Protect and Perfect Advanced Serum
LE moisturiser
LE Superskin Bust and Neck Treatment

Morning:
LE Eye Tonic
LE C&P if time, or just flannel and warm water
No 7 Serum again
LE moisturiser again

A PP mentioned using a silk pillowcase, and I'm wondering if that might be good for my ageing skin, and where to buy them: is this a thing?

PollyPerky · 16/10/2016 15:15

Wow- some of this is terribly complicated.

(you don't need eye creams- rip off. )

Cleanse morning with micellar water.
Apply Olay Regenerist 3 point unperfumed.
Apply Skinceuticals sunscreen spf 50
Apply make up (foundation also has spf30 but I don't rely onthat.)

Cleanse evening with Garnier eye make up remover or sometimes L'oreal (whichever is on offer)
Micellar water
Sometimes Clinique take the day off /hot cloth
Apply more Olay 3 point

Once in a while use Balance Me radiance face mask which is an exfoliator plus hydrator.

No lines or wrinkles due to using spf 25+ for years and years. (Late 50s now.)

VinoTime · 16/10/2016 16:26

Late 20's. Quite sensitive skin that's prone to dry patches if I don't moisturise, especially in the colder months. I'm told I look a good bit younger than I am Shock

AM:

  • I wash my face while I'm in the shower with Dove bar soap.
  • Three times a week I use the St. Ives blemish fighting apricot scrub. It's quite grainy so it's excellent for exfoliating and you can literally feel it scrubbing away all of the dirt and grease from your skin. Leaves it wonderfully soft and smooth.
  • Cien 1% gold firming effect anti-wrinkle serum (Lidl) as soon as my face is dry. New product and I'm very happy with it so far.
  • I've just switched from the Cien Q10 day cream to the new Cien 1% gold day cream (Lidl). Absolutely loving the stuff!

PM:

  • Simple kind to skin cleansing face wipes (pick them up in Poundland). They're nice and thick and don't hurt or feel rough against your skin. Tackles my makeup too.
  • Cien 1% gold firming effect anti-wrinkle serum.
  • Cien 1% gold night cream.

Once a week I mix up a clay face mask and take great delight in seeing how much crap I can pull out of my pores Grin

PollyPerky · 16/10/2016 16:29

Vino- there have been quite a number of quotes over the years from dermos saying that rough exfoliators like the one you use are really bad for the skin. They are much too harsh and in time can do damage.
