How much do you weigh?

Sorry I know these are done a lot but I searched and couldn't find any for this height and size.

I'm doing SW and currently a size 12, my goal size is a 10 and target weight set as 9 and a half stone currently. I wondered whether this was an accurate weight to aim for.

I'm 5'2 weigh 8st12 and I'm generally a 10 top 12 bottom.

ToastyFingers · 04/10/2016 17:08

I'm 5'2 9.5 stone and a size 10 on top.
Most of my weight is on my ample bum and thighs though, and they are not a size 10.

Your dress size depends on your shape as much as your weight, but I'd probably go for a 9st target instead.

taybert · 04/10/2016 17:24

Really depends on shape. I'm nearer 10st and comfortably a 10 but even at my heaviest (nearer 11...) I was only a 12- i don't think I tend to gain all my weight in one area so it's more forgiving. I think if you're an "apple" with weight gain around the middle it's more difficult as you have to size to that widest point.

NantucketNightbird · 04/10/2016 19:38

Taybert I'm the same I don't tend to carry my weight more in any particular area.

Bodicea · 04/10/2016 19:49

Am 5"2and a 1/2and a 10/12 (slightly top heavy). I weigh 9 and half stone.
I am quite naturally muscular though so probably weigh more than I look.

lovingmatleave · 04/10/2016 20:29

5ft 2, currently just over 8 stone. normally around 7st 12.

I'm pear shape and size of clothing taken really depends on the make. Sz10 on bottom half for most shops, and sz 8 on most tops, sometimes sz6 or xs .

MsHybridFanGirl · 04/10/2016 21:07

I'm currently doing MFP to lose weight.

I'm 5ft 1 - started at 10st 4lbs which made me a 12/14.

Down to 9stone 2lbs now but only just getting into a size 10 and my size 12's still fit.

Goal weight is 8st 7lbs which will make me a size 10 bottom and 8 on top. I do have a big bum though!

AngelBlue12 · 04/10/2016 21:12

I'm 5.5 and ideally would like to be 9 stone which will put me at a size 8/10

Mummyshortlegz · 04/10/2016 21:15

5ft 3, 9st 6 and between a 10 and a 12. Mainly a 12. I was a 12 at 10st. Seems to be a long way between a 10 and a 12 for me! I'm aiming for 8st 10 to be a comfortable 10.

ArcticMumkey · 04/10/2016 21:18

5"2 size 8-10 and 10 stone. Probably about 2-3lbs heavier than I'd like but I did have a baby 9 months ago.

Cellardoor23 · 04/10/2016 21:37

I'm 5'4 and when I was 10 stone, I was a size 12.

The slimmest I've been was 9 stone (when I was ill) and I looked far too thin. I think a lot of it depends on bone structure, muscle mass and overall body shape.

ohms11 · 04/10/2016 22:12

I amcurrently 5ft2 and 9 stone. I am a 10 but pushing towards a 12, especially in trousers. To be a nice comfortable 10 I prefer to be about 8.5 stone.

Archedbrowse · 04/10/2016 22:39

Agree with those saying dress size is variable despite weight.
I mentioned earlier that I'd dieted back down to a 12 after having baby, however I've still had to get rid of some of my pre-maternity size 12 stuff. This is because even though they fit fine, they are no longer flattering round the middle. My stomach is now a lot more jiggly than before so the lovely fitted shift dresses I used to wear for work although not too tight, now highlight the 'middle jiggle' Sad in a way they didn't before. I now have to get outfits that are more 'skimming' than 'skin tight' even though I'm back to the same dress size/weight.

NeverNic · 04/10/2016 23:13

I really think it depends on your build and where you hold your fat and how muscly you are. I have biggish boobs for my frame and fairly muscly legs but have narrow shoulders / back and a small waist. Im 5ft 3, 8.8 and wear an 8. Some people at 8 and half stone would be a size 10. At this weight, I'm verging on things being too wide. A few pounds less then I start needing to wear 6 (providing there are no buttons!) I personally couldn't go below 8 stone. I look gaunt at that weight, even though I dont think its considered underweight for my height (that could be wrong though).

I really wouldn't make dress sizes too much of a goal. I have playsuits in a size 14, tops in a 6. Logic says I can't be both, but I can depending on how they cut the material, or how its supposed to hang.

littlepinkgiraffe · 06/10/2016 08:44

I hadn't realised there were more replies - thank you all.

It's interesting to see how much it varies. I think I will just keep going until I'm happy and try and tone up too. I'm a 12 at the mo but in my head I still feel 'big'. I started at just over 13 stone - it's strange that it takes your mind longer to see it.

I think it really depends on weight distribution, muscle mass and the difference between sizes at the lower end is less poundage so varies a fair bit.

creamcheeseandlox · 06/10/2016 21:34

I'm 5' 2" and weigh about 9st 4/5. I am a 10 in some shops and a 12 in others and sometimes even a 14 in some. The sizing varies so so much so it shouldn't really be about dress size. I would rather my thighs be a bit slimmer as I am an hourglass. My boobs are a 32dd.

Triskel · 06/10/2016 22:33

Depends on your build and amount of muscle. At 9 1/2 stones I am size 8 jeans and 10 on top.

CommanderShepard · 07/10/2016 11:55

It really depends. I'm down to 9st 4 and will never ever be a 10 on top. Yet my work trousers are a 10 and hanging off me. I'm 5'1.5".
