I had another thread about me losing hair. Iv had a very stressful few months and wasn't looking after myself aswell as I normally do. It's the crown and at the side although it's the crown that is the worse and more on one side. Iv over hauled my diet and taking various supplements (upped my iron big time etc) I have been using rogaine for women for approx 2 weeks each night and using the plantur 39 shampoo. I don't think it's coming out as badly as it was and I know it will take a few months before the hair grows back. What shampoos/tonics have you used that have helped please?

For me, the shedding has slowed right down.

I just so happened to go to the doctors in July as Iv had wierd bruising and doctor couldn't explain it so decided to do very through bloods (all came back fine) I just happened to ask her what my iron and ferritin and thyroid was like and she said 'fine'. Although to be fair they would probably have been even lower done in August (when u noticed the losing of hair )

Thanks I have, I used to take kalms but found it made me a bit groggy in the day? Perhaps if it helped my anxiety I could deal with the groggy if if helped my hair grow back.

Bumblemouse-I don't think you can demand a blood test but I had one recently because I was experiencing extreme tiredness/lethargy so you could see your gp and say the same.

Thanks retainer. I'd be happy just to take the ferritin for a few months without a blood test if I could just find the stuff online.

Going to try liquid feroglobin too - someone said they're taking floradix - is that the best combination?

OP , I am tired some days but don't know if the kalms are to blame for it. Tiredness wouldn't stop me from taking them, my hair is more important lol

Bumble I may be wrong but I don't think you can take ferritin, that is something to do with protein and the way iron is stored, so you need to take iron. I take the fereglobin and have just bought off lamberts online something specifically for women and their hair, higher dose of iron, biotin which we need. And a few other things, it's called fluorisine.

Sorry OP - I've been away. I bought a folic acid/iron/iodine supplement in Germany. It has 100 micrograms of iodine. Check out pregnancy supplements as well. I think Elevit has iodine. You don't need much.

Bumble-look on Amazon for ferrous fumarate.
