I'm after a proper old fashioned denim mini (not too mini though!) skirt, straight not A-line and no buttons. I realise that this is far from being 'in' but I like them.

I also want some really lovely big scarves - ideally a burnt orange one, a bright pink one and a red one.

Also, a pleated red skirt and the perfect grey v neck jumper.

You?

V pretty mini but v mini!

Thanks, Rosie - too mini, I think.

I'll be thrown out of S&B for saying this but I'd keep an eye on White Stuff for a straight denim skirt remus. Or Toast although there'd be no change out of a hundred quid.

For whoever was asking for red jumpers, I've tried this and it's a really nice, slouchy shape and a lovely cherry red. The downside: it's70% acrylic and felt like it could get scratchy (the wool content is lambswool). I'm still tempted though.

Rosie I've just bought this. It's being delivered today so I'll let you know. I've ordered a size up so it hangs lower as a similar style I tried on instore was too mini.

Nearlyadoctor · 22/08/2016 10:35

Remus I have a straight old fashioned style one, just above the knee, no buttons - bought a couple of years back now from crew clothing so may be worth a look.

CaitAgusMadra · 22/08/2016 14:40

Nigella

I'm a 10/12 and normally take M in Cos. Sized down to S in that top, it's not too slouchy but not fitted either IYKWIM

nickdrakeslovechild · 22/08/2016 15:11

ooh can I join in please? I am a little obsessed with anything leopard / zebra print at the moment and would love a leopard coat if you see any.

I bought a great mini straight denim skirt from primark sorry it was in dark denim or black. So lovely I bought both as only £6 each. Will see me through until I find a good quality replacement.

Pippin8 · 22/08/2016 16:18

The Animal print skirt has arrived. It's heavy material & lined, which is good for Autumn/winter.

I did want to wear it for my birthday in Ibiza next week, but I think it'll be too hot.

I'm glad I sized up aswell as it is quite short & im an hourglass so a bigger waist sits well on my hips.

BristolLFR · 22/08/2016 16:28

nickdrake there's a separate Coats thread you may want to have a look at (sorry, don't know how to get the link from the app). I posted this one on there...

www.riverisland.com/women/coats--jackets/coats/brown-leopard-print-wool-overcoat-689891

Annoyed that I'm preg and would get no use out of it this winter, but I've been in to animal print for years so guessing I'll still love it next winter...

nickdrakeslovechild · 22/08/2016 16:50

Thnks BristolILFR that's lovely will go and have a look. Will hang out on both threads as love A/W clothes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 17:27

Liking the animal print mini.

I tried on 6 denim minis today - all terrible. None of them were truly straight, even the ones that claimed to be. No sign of the burgundy jumper in M&S either.

Aaah, I feel like this thread is my spiritual home. Love AW clothing so much! Here's my list:

Long, slouchy grey cardigan - I've been looking for this for YEARS and have bought so many versions, none ever quite right. I want a decent wool content, light/mid grey, oversized/slouchy but not too big. Willing to spend £££ but just can't find what I want anywhere!

Acne Pistol boots - or more realistically, a good, cheaper copy of them.

Acne leopard print scarf - I'm a bit Acne-obsessed after a visit to Copenhagen!

A new leather jacket - quite like a few in All Saints but yet to find the perfect specimen.

Leather leggings/skinny trousers - I look for these every year but have never found the perfect pair... I think these Hush ones could be them (www.hush-uk.com/trousers_jeans/leather_leggings_black.htm) but I daren't take the plunge and order them!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2016 20:22

coppergrey, Mint Velvet do a pair of faux leather leggings that are only £35.

coppergrey · 22/08/2016 20:33

Thank you Queen - I'll take a look! I have had about 4 pairs of faux leather leggings though, and they've never been decent quality or long-lasting. I probably could've bought the Hush pair with the amount I've spent on faux ones over the years! Maybe it's just time to take the plunge?

thiswayplease · 22/08/2016 20:34

SimplyNigella I saw this is Sainsbury's today. It's lovely but they didn't have one in my size. Plus there's 25% off

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 20:35

I've also been looking for a long pale grey cardigan for what seems like forever, too. I want a really fine knit, almost cobwebby if that makes sense!

OP posts:
Middleoftheroad · 22/08/2016 20:42

Nice quality grey or brown leggings that don't look cheap.

Jeans don't work for me, but leggings suit my slimmer legs and don't sit on my overhang. I know leggings are viewed by many as a fashion faux pas, but I'd be lost without mine.

thiswayplease · 22/08/2016 20:48

I'm after a good quality denim shirt, a wool fit and flare coat in either tan or black and some tan knee high boots

I did have the best denim mini skirt years ago from Matalan, wish I hadn't thrown it out now....

bloomburger · 22/08/2016 20:49

Middleoftheroad. Hush's leggings are ace.

I want a grey fur (but teddy fur not animal fur IYKWIM) coat, boxy, mid thigh with collar coat.

Cellardoor23 · 22/08/2016 20:54

I have a thing for scarfs at the moment. Just bought a lovely grey one with gold bunnies on it from joules. I know it sounds strange written down but it really is a lovely scarf!

I have a v-neck jumper in deep red from m&s which is lovely. I don't usually shop there but some of their jumpers look alright. Haven't done the wash test yet so will see!

coppergrey Pure collection had a lovely long cashmere slouchy cardigan. They only had it in navy blue though unless they have other colours online. It was pricey but it was lovely.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 20:55

Cellar Which M&S jumper have you got?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 20:57

This cardigan looks quite nice.

And this but I don't think the quality of their cashmere is good enough to pay full price for.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2016 21:07

I had a catalogue through the post today from Pure and their stuff looks lovely and cosy, albeit pricey.

coppergrey · 22/08/2016 21:14

I have a Pure Collection cashmere jumper and it's gone really bobbly! Don't reckon much to the quality at all. They do have some lovely basics, though.

I actually really love this Whistles cardi - www.whistles.com/women/clothing/knitwear/boiled-wool-knit-cardigan-23354.html?dwvar_boiled-wool-knit-cardigan-23354_color=Grey%20Marl#prefn1=subCategory&prefv1=Knitwear&start=1. When does the Grazia 20% thing come out - think they do it twice a year? Might hang on for that!

Cellardoor23 · 22/08/2016 21:18

remus This one here.

www.marksandspencer.com/tailored-fit-checked-double-layer-jumper/p/p22460647?image=SD_01_T38_6580_YZ_X_EC_90&color=BlackandWhite&prevPage=plp&pdpredirect

The neck line is a little low but not to the point everything is on show. The colour is really nice as well.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 21:20

Thanks, Cellar. I like the colour but can't be doing with viscose knitwear.
