I'm after a proper old fashioned denim mini (not too mini though!) skirt, straight not A-line and no buttons. I realise that this is far from being 'in' but I like them.

I also want some really lovely big scarves - ideally a burnt orange one, a bright pink one and a red one.

Also, a pleated red skirt and the perfect grey v neck jumper.

You?

Can I join this thread pls, I'd really like a burgundy A line midi cord skirt, has to rest on the knee. Can't find one anywhere Sad although I have found this www.lipsy.co.uk/store/lost-ink/lost-ink-cord-a-line-midi-skirt/product-is-eb09860_135?ranMID=24865&ranEAID=0RpXOIXA500&ranSiteID=0RpXOIXA500-ugTJiDM5b.vZPbmZcU7KDw

I've been looking for a slouchy cardigan as well. I wasn't willing to pay £££ of pure collection even though it was nice. I have a 3 month old baby so i want something that I'm not afraid to get drool and baby sick on lol

SimplyNigella · 22/08/2016 21:23

thisway thanks very much for the link, will check it out IRL later this week.

I'm still obsessing over the completely impractical cream coat I mentioned on the coat thread but I have found my perfect leather jacket in the form of a burgundy Whistles jacket. My Frye flat ankle boots arrived today too and I'm really pleased with them.

Cellardoor23 · 22/08/2016 21:23

remus yeah I know that was my thoughts as well. But I really liked the colour and I'm not afraid of it getting ruined lol

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 21:33

True, Cellar. I just gave a load of viscose M&S jumpers to charity though, because they creased like buggery, so I am trying to learn from my mistakes! Trying to buy less but hopefully stuff that will last longer.

I live this thread. Pippin8 may I please ask where your a-line leopard skirt comes from? I've seen a couple of nice pencil/tube ones but fancy an a-line.

I've also seen a thickish denim shirt in Next that I'd like, and maybe some coloured skinny jeans.

I'd also like a new leather jacket - my ancient Gap one just doesn't suit me any more. Can anyone recommend a black or grey non-cropped biker-style leather jacket (i.e. not a collarless one) under £200?...

Catinthecorner · 22/08/2016 22:15

Interesting knitwear. Flattering, but with good shape/texture (so sick of standard v or crew neck jumpers in various colours). Would probably prefer a neutral-ish colour

Pippin8 · 22/08/2016 22:15

Laquila, it's from topshop. I've tried it on tonight & I love it. Im going to wear it with a black Cami, a big necklace & these topshop sandals while the weather is warm.

Then as the weather gets colder with tights, a polo neck, Chelsea boots & a leather jacket or my Ted baker camel coat.

What are you hoping to find now the A/W stuff is coming into the shops?
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2016 22:18

Polo neck & leather jacket plus mini skirt = one of my favourite A/W looks.

Same here! Although I'll be pregnant till November then figuring out what to do with a tiny baby for the rest of autumn/winter, so might save this look for next year Wink

Cellardoor23 · 22/08/2016 22:27

A little off topic but I've been looking for a decent pair of loafers. I had a look at Tods, are they worth the price? Or can you get a decent pair cheaper?

RosieLig · 22/08/2016 22:28

Thank you Pipin - loving the leopard mini! x

winefairyagain · 23/08/2016 09:37

coppergrey after deliberating for all eternity over leather leggings, I decided these Baukjen Liv leggings were the most popular, both according to reviews and S&B threads. MN have a 15% discount code. Still haven't bought them, of course!

Thanks for the feedback on the Whistles shirts everyone. I do love them but not at that price so I'm going to sale stalk them, I think.

I'm also after polo necks.

coppergrey · 23/08/2016 14:47

Oohh, thank you wine! They look lovely. Will add them to my wishlist and see if I'm brave enough come Christmas!

From looking at last year, I think the Grazia Whistles discount (25%) starts at end of Sept so worth holding off on any Whistles purchases till then.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/08/2016 19:15

Found the perfect denim mini today - not sticky out at all and just the right length - in a charity shop. Unfortunately it was a size 10 and I'm now a biggish 12. :(

Bought myself a new nail varnish to compensate for my disappointment. Here

I saw a denim mini in a charity shop too Remus and thought of you but it was A line. Definitely worth keeping an eye out though.

I'm trying to work up some enthusiasm for a much needed bad weather coat. This seems to meet a lot of requirements:
Knee length
Hood
Bit of shape at the waist
Not black
Not jaunty
And the Grazia offer - assuming it happens again - would bring the price down.
But will it do its job or will it be a case of style over substance?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/08/2016 19:56

I will keep my eyes open, Flo. Hopefully lots of local size 12 ladies will have decided they are naff and have donated them!

I like that Whistles parka, but I do think that a lot of their stuff isn't great quality for the high price.

OP posts:
coppergrey · 23/08/2016 20:16

Totally agree that lots of Whistles stuff is terrible quality for the price... however I have a very similar parka from them and it is brilliant. It's really warm and cosy, I've had it for a few years and bring it out every winter.

Hopefully they will do Grazia again as they did the SS16 one a few months ago!

EnidButton · 23/08/2016 20:23

How much is the Grazia offer usually? 20%?
I like that parka too although I won't be getting one as my other one hasn't been worn for so long. Going to order a heap of leather jackets both real and faux and have a try on this weekend.

EnidButton · 23/08/2016 20:24

Well, maybe not a heap but three or four. Grin

coppergrey · 23/08/2016 20:24

Think it's 25% Enid so well worth hanging on for!

EnidButton · 23/08/2016 20:24

That is good Copper thank you. Smile

Floisme · 23/08/2016 20:25

I was hoping it might be 25% but you're right, it's probably 20%.
I agree, the quality probably won't be worth it. But annoyingly (and not for the first time) they seem to have managed to nail all the things I'm after, style-wise.
It's going to be a tussle between my desire to stay warm and dry, my vanity and my bank balance.

Floisme · 23/08/2016 20:26

Cross post - I'd be very happy with 25%!
