I'm after a proper old fashioned denim mini (not too mini though!) skirt, straight not A-line and no buttons. I realise that this is far from being 'in' but I like them.

I also want some really lovely big scarves - ideally a burnt orange one, a bright pink one and a red one.

Also, a pleated red skirt and the perfect grey v neck jumper.

You?

Actually what am I talking about - I got some flat, grey ankle boots last winter that will be fine with new heels & soles. And guess where I found them .... M&S Grin

PuffPastry314 · 08/09/2016 08:34

The skirt in your link looks like the kind of thing Remus is after.

littleredpear · 08/09/2016 09:14

Wanders in late, it's been a difficult month.

Remus? Have you tried Gap for a denim skirt? Got mine in there a few years back and I love it.

I'm loving the Willis/Cook revival at Warehouse, spent a fortune in there last week.

Will post links later when not at work Grin

littleredpear · 08/09/2016 09:36

Also I'm after some boots like the rag and bone Motos if anyone has seen any.

Without the £455 price tag!!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/09/2016 18:15

I got my denim skirt already. Thanks though. Grin

Also managed to get some well fitting grey skinnies, after a v long hunt. Where? M&S. I think they might have to start paying me for advertising them.

Just been over to the Warehouse website after pear's post. Hadn't looked in there for ages.

Not normally a fan of ruffles at all, or of orange, but I'm very drawn to this. I think it works because it's otherwise very plain. www.warehouse.co.uk/gb/just-arrived/clothing/ruffle-detail-midi-skirt/026667.html?cgid=new-in-clothing&dwvar_026667_color=86&position=67#page=6&start=67&categoryID=new-in-clothing

And I don't like the colour of this but I love the shape. Cotton too. It looks like something Me and Em would do only they'd probably stick a zero on the end. www.warehouse.co.uk/gb/just-arrived/clothing/cotton-tie-side-top/027268.html?cgid=new-in-clothing&dwvar_027268_color=30&position=112#page=10&start=112&categoryID=new-in-clothing

What did you get pear?

WicksEnd · 10/09/2016 11:37

Enid, if you want a nice quality cami for under the Hush star print shirt, jigsaw cami's are lovely.

littleredpear · 13/09/2016 20:56

off shoulder

floral dip hem

floral long

pink jumper

I also picked up some jeans, navy trousers and a green suede bag.

The off the shoulder one is forgiving (large of bap) as its heavy and stays put.

Buttonmoonb4tea · 13/09/2016 22:25

Calling all brogue wearers!! Just had some delivered from Clarks today. They're the Hamble Oaks in tan. Does anyone have these. How do they cope in the lovely British weather, can they withstand any rain or do they discolour?

SapphireSeptember · 13/09/2016 23:36

I found a khaki coloured t-shirt! On eBay, and some leather combat boots on Amazon, so that's two things from my list. Smile

DinosaursRoar · 14/09/2016 14:08

Well, earlier on this thread I said I wanted a long (midi length) wool coat in black or grey, some black ankle boots and a navy boatnecked jumper.

So far, I have aquired a navy knee length wool coat (thank you for PP suggesting a trip to TK Maxx! It's from Jaegar and looks lovely), some tan leather ankle boots (from Sainsburys, not somewhere I would think to look for leather boots), and a teal jumper (also Sainsburys).

I now have a much reduced budget and think I'm just going to try to get some black ankle boots for this month!

BestIsWest · 14/09/2016 16:09

I have given up on trying to get dresses to fit me, having tried about 20 on so far and going back to my trusted work combo of trousers, top and cardigan. I have a long body and short legs so they all seem to be wrongl proportioned for me. The waists are all too high.
It also makes shoes much easier for me as I can no longer do any form of heel.

So I would now like some navy trousers and some longer cardigans without pockets and maybe some brogues. Still looking for the tan cross body bag.

taybert · 14/09/2016 16:16

So I've just been trying on my new uniqlo merino jumpers. It's bloody boiling here.
It feels a bit churlish to complain about nice weather but I've got my Autumn head on!

littleredpear · 14/09/2016 20:49

Best I have some stretchy navy 'slacks ' from h&m. They've been brilliant. £19.99 and I went back for another couple of pairs in black and a pattern

Loads in store in the formal bit. Online is rubbbish.

littleredpear · 14/09/2016 20:50

Taybert, how is the fit this year? I'm a petite 10/12 but find the medium too small and the large too big Envy

Floisme · 15/09/2016 22:11

I was just coming to tell you about these navy H&M trousers but littleredpear has beaten me to it. They are unpromisingly labelled 'slacks' but bear a startling resemblance to some trousers I'd been stalking at Whistles. However these (H&M) are nearly a fifth of the price and contain more cotton and less polyester.

I think this is the link although you can never tell with them. The only snag I can see is that there are no belt loops so they need to fit properly at the waist. Usual mysterious H&M sizing applies.

BestIsWest · 16/09/2016 05:20

Like the look of those H&M 'slacks' ( now there's a 70s word).

Will call in today to see if I can find them. Thanks.

Floisme · 16/09/2016 06:58

When I was a child I had some tartan 'slacks' with a foot stirrup. These aren't like them!

As littleredpear you def need to go in look / try. I would never order from them online.

Rollerbird · 16/09/2016 07:36

Just a lateral question- is the only 'winter' foot option with that above ankle length a brogue?

Floisme · 16/09/2016 07:54

I'm going to try them with 'higher rise' brogues. This kind of thing.
www.clarks.co.uk/p/26118872

The trousers aren't massively cropped on me as I'm 5'3. Not sure if it'll work but I've no intention of putting up with cold ankles.

Rollerbird · 16/09/2016 08:28

floisme im thinking the loafer style version might be more versatile with dresses though?

FlindersKeepers · 16/09/2016 09:27

I've seen the Mango coat in-store, the material is actually pretty good.
They have some brilliant lace-up pull on shirts in dark navy and white for cheap as well.
Cos has great olive green V-neck tees.
Which was good as they go with my unplanned buy: Massimo Dutti bouclé jacket
At work I mainly wear dark navy and my main work bag is olive green, this jacket ties it all together really well and will be super useful on business trips as I can stick M&S Autograph blouse or M&S twist top (sorry I don't mind modal) or white tees or merino jumpers or navy dresses or... you get the picture.

There was also a slight incident in TK Maxx and a Victor & Rolf dress, but I'll gloss over that one...

Floisme · 16/09/2016 17:25

Roller yes I think loafers would work either either although, with trousers, you'd be left with ankle gap.

I'm very taken with this Barbour-esqe M&S jacket with a hood. It cinches in nicely at the waist and it's the first bit of rainwear I've tried on that I've actively liked. But it's only thigh length. What exactly is the point of that and am I vain enough to buy it anyway even though it won't even keep my legs dry? Quite possibly, yes.

Also tempted by this faux leather bikerish jacket if the burgundy is the right shade. I've given up on ever being able to afford the real thing as I need new specs and have millionaire taste in frames.www.marksandspencer.com/faux-leather-biker-jacket/p/p22459279?image=SD_01_T49_3543_XM_X_EC_90&color=BURGUNDY&prevPage=plp

BagelGoesWalking · 16/09/2016 17:57

Just had a look at the Mango website, thanks to this thread!

What are sizings like? I usually go for a 12 or 14 in tops because I've got broad shoulders? No boobs to speak of so don't need bigger for that reason. But recently got medium T-shirts in H&M which were fine. So I'm confused about which size would be right. Mainly looking at the jumpers at Mango. Help, please!

And do they really mean handwash on their jumpers when it's viscose/polyester. Cos I have no intention of doing that! Would 30 deg be OK?
