I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

I like the sound of the poison garden, MI (she said, eyeing up other members of the Haus Schadenfreude sourly).

Work is shit - head of dept appears to have given away a huge chunk of my portfolio to Thrusting Young Man without telling me - and it looks like this was deliberate, as she clearly hit reply to all but deleted my name. She also won't listen to anyone either, so am hoping she falls flat on her face shortly. Think she is slightly lacking in confidence and out of her depth. Was trying to explain the background to something she deals with today, as it's something I have a lot of experience in, and she bit my head off, saying that thanks, she would do it her way, and being new to the place meant that she could do this with no baggage. She is turning me into Kevin the Teenager, and I just want to say "whatevvah." Think she is doing this now as boss/that colleague is on leave. Don't think she would dare to do it if he was here.

Very quick check in to say very good luck to all awaiting results tomorrow.

Mrs S - job sounds stressful and the woman a complete bitch.

Let's go to Jerez. Sounds like our kinda place.

MontserratCaballe · 17/08/2016 22:38

Dh and I did the sherry tour. 8 different types as I recall. It was marvellous though I was plastered by the end. Or indeed by the middle....

Best wishes to all waiting for tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you all xxxx

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/08/2016 22:41

Good luck to all of those getting exam results tomorrow.

Lalsy · 17/08/2016 23:16

Jerez - yes, let's go. And take Claire Balding round the sherry bars.

Iceland, Crem? Are you going there? We went a few years ago, was fab and strange especially if you like swimming. Take a bottle of spirits in with you.

Interviews hideous when they matter, but this one didn't once I had sussed the clothing issue (did some rootling first that meant was pretty sure not for me or me for them) so I enjoyed myself - quite bonkers people.

MI, that sounds very atmospheric. Being in middle of nowhere next to a motorway less so. Hope things pick up.

Addle - yes re older skin/body. I am trying to think sod it, hence the shorts this summer. Feel rather better for it.

ds and dd both have peeling feet - chunks of dead skin dropping off. I will have to spend some of results day vacuuming it up. Joy.

MrsS your boss is a bitch....

Addle with you on ageing and in my case fat) body. I once was skin and bone and hate hate the extra rolls everywhere. I suspect even a severe diet and exercise wouldn't get me back to the 45 year old I was.....

Here had mega meltdown quite out of proportion re non appearing patio men. Ds austutly pointed out 'it's nanny isn't it'

Good luck on results all, tissues and hugs at the ready...

bigTillyMint · 18/08/2016 06:16

Oh Rudy, I hope the results are what they wanted/needed/deserved.

BD/Addle, I have been a chubster (as a teen) and fairly skinny (20's through to having DD) - I don't think my skin is as elastic as it should be now and the tops of my arms and legs are like hams but heigh-ho Confused

We got home late last night after being up for 24 hours. I predictably woke at sparrows fartAngry so have opened all the mail and put the first wash on. No milk in the house for tea Sad
Results won't be picked up until after 11 and then it is dubious whether the results will be communicated to us, in true Drama Queen style. But it is "only" the AS's, so not life and death, and I am not at all anxious about it, having been through all that last year.

And MM, thank you so, so much for sending the article - I am going to sit down and read it with a nice cup of tea when the milk arrivesSmile

Fingers tightly crossed for the results Rudy.....we're in your Yosemite hotel, by the way. All good so far. Early start tomorrow to get some more hiking in before it gets too hot.

Dreamqueen · 18/08/2016 07:56

Fingers crossed for all with Dc getting results today. Hope it all goes well & is as stressless as possible.

Lalsy · 18/08/2016 07:57

Rudy and all....fingers crossed. Ds said last night he is worri d about university because he doesn't like reading. I don't know what to say. He doesn't (and is slow at it) but he works hard and does reasonably well. So far. Dunno.

thighs like welsh cakes here. We could make a buffet.....Let's remember the crepey motto (which I have forgotten).

Welcome home BTM.

Collymollypuff · 18/08/2016 08:21

Dd got the results she needed, so no gap yah, and I will be dd-free from late September. Grin What a relief.

Hope other crepey dc get the results they need. Sympathy to anyone who has to dash around begging/fixing while dishing out comfort to dc - been there, done that.

Lalsy · 18/08/2016 08:24

Wooohooo, Molly.

NUFC69 · 18/08/2016 08:27

Well done to DD, Molly, and I am thinking about all the other DC awaiting results. Welcome home, BTM.

Have to dash to help DH do breakfast for our guest: last dinner done yesterday as she is taking us out for a meal tonight (fortunate as I am fed up with thinking about food).

bigTillyMint · 18/08/2016 08:49

Molly, that's great news (for both you and DD!) Smile

Hurrah for the Minimoll!

Stropperella · 18/08/2016 09:09

Great news, Molly!

Here, it's not good. Dd checked online and knows that she didn't get into university. So she doesn't want to pick up her results ("as they are obviously really bad"), so I am having to go to school for the envelope. Really sad about it all (and various other things). :(

addle · 18/08/2016 09:12

Stropps so sorry. Hope when shock and disappointment subside you and she can see way forward Flowers

Congrats Mollydd

Still waiting here. Around 11 I think

motherinferior · 18/08/2016 09:15

Stropps, I am so sorry.

We are off to see a stone circle. Because I am a hippy. Last day tomorrow...

Stropperella · 18/08/2016 09:20

I'm not surprised or particularly shocked, but I am apprehensive about what dd will do next. That's all.

bigTillyMint · 18/08/2016 09:21

Oh no StroppsSad

Y12's have to wait till 12.30 at DD's sixth form apparently! And as we have no hot water as we forgot to turn it on last night...
