I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

Rudy - hope you got some rest, and there is better news after his treatment.

Rose - your day sounds idyllic....

BTM - yesterday, I found a particularly lush branch of blackberries behind our shed Blush.....the perils of living next to a footpath. I might go out foraging tomorrow - I missed them completely last year, and I do love a nice crumble.

We've just waved off my family who were here today - lunch for 14 at the local pub. It was a joint birthday do for DDad/DD1/DD2/DH/DN1/DN2 and BIL, so there were gifts flying back and forth. We picked up some sweet little rose-gold rings in Santa Monica for the teen DNs, which were well received, and BIL seemed pretty chuffed with his 50th gift, which was a helicopter flight over his home town. We bored everyone with our holiday snaps. Lovely day! I'm now having a healthy evening snack of macaroons (reduced for quick sale in Waitrose yesterday) washed down with Sauvignon Blanc, while DH catches up with the Grand Prix.

Crem, how is your dad today?

Cremolafoam · 29/08/2016 11:59

Gosh, I am fascinated by olive jam Rose. It's sounds epic. Your day sounds like perfection as well.

Rudy darling, I'm hoping all goes well for ds , and today passes calmly. Thinking of you.

Ddad not on today's list either. The sister has said they will get him in 'when they can' I am furious tbh as the NICE guidelines for hip fracture state that recovery is improved the quicker the op is undertaken. I don't suppose quoting that at the nurse is going to make any difference. Have asked mum to cool her jets. Dad is in better form anyway, which is probably the morphine lol.

Can I ask you all to look at the new menu please and make your choices this bank holiday? Have sent it by email or pm.
Thanks everyone.Flowers

Looks lovely, Cremo. Pah about no op. Maybe it is worth quoting NICE at them - I, erm, have been known to do that or similar, most notoriously in second stage labour. They said that was "unusual" and a clear sign all was progressing well.

Rudy, thinking of you and your family and glad there have been no setbacks. Flowers

GiddyGiddyGoat · 29/08/2016 12:44

Rudyard have pmed you.

Thank you, Crem. It looks lush. Not sure I'll be able to eat all that I've ordered, but I'll give it my best shot. Grin It's really crap about your ddad being kept waiting so long for an op. Glad to hear he is more comfortable today, though. But I hope your dmum will be able to get a more realistic view of the situation over the next few days.
