Mine were honestly exactly the same and the extensionist said the same as yours - no other complaints, must be you etc.

I actually can't remember if it was Moroccan oil or argan oil tbh but whatever it was literally improved my extensions x a million. I was a bit embarrassed by them at first but after lots of oil twice a day, they looked lovely. Smile

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 14/08/2016 19:43

Extensions always look tacky. IMO
Seeing the join/comb thing is not uncommon. A bad look.

elizadolittlechoc · 14/08/2016 21:48

So some poor woman is so desperate for money that she parts with her one asset and SELLS HER HAIR, probably for a minuscule amount compared to what people are prepared to pay here. I'm sorry, but I simply cannot understand how people can bear to wear real hair extensions without thinking about that. Women's vanity satisfied at the expense of those suffering poverty.

Buzzardbird · 14/08/2016 21:52

It is pretty grim eliza

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 21:52

People who sell their hair at least make money from it...so it has helped them out.

Better than selling your body into prostetion or worst your child

TheDowagerCuntess · 14/08/2016 22:02

I don't think they make much money out of it, and it's done out of desperation.

How are you supposed to never use heat on them, at that length? You won't always have time to let your hair air dry, and won't you want to style it sometimes?

Says someone who couldn't survive with no heat styling.

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 22:04

I just wash on a night and let them dry although I did think the whole point of human hair was you could treat it like your own hair.

Hmm

And better than selling a kidney for £200. But that's okay hey?

Pisssssedofff · 14/08/2016 22:16

It's only hair with respect, let's get some perspective here

squoosh · 14/08/2016 22:19

Have you ever been forced to sell your hair for cash?

Let's get some perspective here.

LuluJakey1 · 14/08/2016 22:20

Yes, very tacky.

Pisssssedofff · 14/08/2016 22:23

I haven't of course because I'm white educated whatever, but if I had to I would it no big deal is it. I have to do a job I don't love we all have to suck things up in life, big deal it grows back.

MrsGsnow18 · 14/08/2016 22:23

I've been reading this thread with interest. I don't think the extensions look bad, but then I cannot feel texture etc.
I'm wondering why on earth they you can't use heat on them though, if they are real hair? Even some synthetic extensions can have heat used on them.

squoosh · 14/08/2016 22:25

Ugh. What a wanker.

itsbetterthanabox · 14/08/2016 22:28

Haha pissssssedoff
So just suck up poverty yeah?
I'll buy your hair. £2. Now get shaving. Suck it up. Come on.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/08/2016 22:29

Oh dear Lord , I'd never actually thought of where they come from and under what circumstancesShock I couldn't bear to have them.

MsKite · 14/08/2016 22:31

I can't imagine having someone else's hair stuck to my head. And that's without thinking about how desperate you would have to be to sell your hair. Crap and tacky, yes, I'm afraid 😬

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 14/08/2016 22:32

Is it only £200 for a kidney? Fuck.

Extensions always look kind of fake. You can tell the difference between the extensions and the hair.

But fake nails and fake tan look fake too so maybe people like that look?

Jamelia did a documentary about where hair extensions come from. I know she's kind of douchey but the doc was really good. Interesting. Informative. And fucking harrowing. Don't watch it if you get upset easily.

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 22:32

I don't really know the process but I'm sure there is more to it than just chopping some Russian woman's hair and sticking it on others..surely they treat it or something.
Don't mean to sound heartless but at least they are making money somehow ..they could have children they need to feed, surely it's better than the alternative?

wtfdidijustwatch · 14/08/2016 22:34

I like to give my scalp a really good brush as well as my hair, so extensions would be no good for me.

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 22:35

You can still wash and brush your scalp ..they grow down with your natural hair

OP posts:
GingerbreadGingerbread · 14/08/2016 22:47

I would want a refund for that or for them to correct it. The hair looks old and dry.

elizadolittlechoc · 15/08/2016 07:54

All real long hair is old Hmm. Is there xenophobia creeping in here-it's only a Russian/Asian, who cares? Can you imagine the outcry if women here sold their hair as an alternative to prostitution. Although I understand you can do it here-still yucky imo. Hair is a one off every 5 years in desperate times. Two hundred years ago people wore other's teeth for vanity, so may be that's how it will be seen in the future (well that's how it is seen by many now; macabre).

Whatdowedo · 15/08/2016 08:56

I chopped some length off and conditioned them deeply last night.
Going to put some waves in and see how it looks.
