I don't have a clue she just said it was easilocks but it doesn't look like that does it.
I've had extensions before and they were silky and these I can't even run my hands through as they get stuck.
My hair is short and at the back it goes from short to really long ,she hasn't cut the extensions in layers to blend if that makes sense.

I was thinking about maybe putting waves in ..just so it wouldn't look so straight across.

You have to go back

Crocodillian · 14/08/2016 16:14

If you aren't happy you can have a stylist trim them just as you would your real hair.
Also if you look in Paks in store or online or maybe Boots or Sallys, they have serums and sprays for human hair extensions but I do find that too much weighs them down. But a little can bring back the shine.
You can also wash and condition and dry just the bottom parts of decent extensions yourself without removing them using a jug or bowl and carefully dipping.
I wore extensions for about 15 years all different ones depending on whether my hair was straight, curly or wavy (Im mixed race and my hair isnt relaxed so its quite versatile but difficult to manage) and I reckon in my time I've tried most brands.
Sometimes the more expensive hair was actually quicker to dry out. I also sometimes used very good synthetic hair esp for curly styles as it holds the curl and doesnt go dry or frizzy (has to be v good synthetic brand though). I also did my friends extensions, she is white with fine, straight very naturally shiny glossy red hair and after a while she discovered that what matched her hair best was a synthetic/human blend. We never considered it at first and she always went at the £90 a pack wholesale price kind of range but she got sick of buying packets of expensive hair that went dry and tangly v quickly and clashed with her own hair which always stayed silky and shiny. So it's always worth reading reviews and shopping around.
Ps I love your top/dress

This is the same salon ..doesn't look like my hair at all

I think its cheaper and easier to always go and buy the hair yourself. You can feel it and decide whether or not you like the texture. pissedoff had a good idea, ask to see proof of what they used. Where's the packaging/order info

michelle388 · 14/08/2016 16:19

I had russion extensions fitted last year, they were very expensive but i had wanted them for ages and thought they looked nice on the website and other people but i hated them in myself. They never looked right' matted and ruined my hair. Never again!

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 16:20

I've had them 5 weeks now and they driving me mental

Doinmummy · 14/08/2016 16:44

If you are going to go back and complain then I wouldn't do anything to them.

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 16:46

Do you think they are bad enough to complain?
Or was I maybe expecting too much?

OP posts:
Crocodillian · 14/08/2016 16:53

You weren't expecting too much if it was suggested to you that you were getting what is in those pictures. If it's just a case of maintenance they'll tell you. Did it ever look like the pics?

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 16:57

No never,i asked her to put some waves in and she said they didn't have time so I left with it straight.
She put lots of smooth serum on so felt nice then I washed it (with products bought from the salon) and I couldn't separate the tats

Crocodillian · 14/08/2016 17:07

I think you should go back and speak to them and make a decision based upon their response. They didnt have time to style it how you wanted it and their products have been no good for the hair, or the hair was no good in the first place. Worth a conversation with the manager at the very least. Whatever the outcome of this it'll also be useful for you to know exactly what hair they used because then you know to always avoid it in the future.

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 17:11

I've just sent the girl a message on Facebook and she normally replies straight away.
Let's see what she says.
She is slightly intimidating so I'm not hopeful

Condition them and leave it on. Dont put conditioner on the bonds. Leave it on for half and hour or so and brush it through using a tangle tease. You could probably take them a bit shorter but they look nice I think. Like natural hair they can look dull so just a bit of TLC.

helenatroy · 14/08/2016 17:15

BTW tangle tease are brilliant in dry extensions too. If you play them before bed (2 plats) they will be lovely and wavy in the morning. Just be sure to take the plays as close to the ends of the hair as you can.

biscuitkumquat · 14/08/2016 17:16

If they're getting matted & you can't run your fingers through, it sounds as though they're not cuticle correct, but that should never happen with good quality extensions.

I would usually curl my extensions, but there's a few tips:

Always tie your hair up at night
Use a silk pillowcase
Only use decent products formulated for extensions
Leave as long as possible between washes
Use a brush designed for hair extensions & be very gentle
Use the best conditioner that you can afford.

FlyHighLittleBee · 14/08/2016 17:18

Mine were apparently easilocks and they got all matted like yours op. Argan oil worked wonders - the real, expensive stuff though.

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 17:23

I've got a tangle teaser and the shampoo and conditioner I bought from her were £22 each.
I tie my hair up every night in a plait
Never go to bed with wet hair and only wash 3 times a week.
Il try the Argan oil thankyou :-)

She's replied saying
It's double drawn Russian human hair.
She said they never have complaints about it and I must be doing something to it ..

squoosh · 14/08/2016 17:27

The idea of wearing another human's hair (especially unethically sourced human hair) makes me feel a bit icky. And synthetic extensions always look a bit cheap.

So it's a no from me, although if I had very wispy hair I can imagine being tempted.

twirlypoo · 14/08/2016 17:29

Ive had extensions twice and had them removed after 3 weeks both times as I was desperate to give my head a really good scratch!

Yours don't look quite right, they shouldn't be so dry so soon. Has she suggested what to do about it?

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 17:57

She said don't use heat ..but I don't anyway.
And buy her conditioner ??? Already have it
Might try leaving it on for ages tonight

OP posts:
biscuitkumquat · 14/08/2016 18:26

How are you drying your hair? Do you section when you dry?

And are you using oil before you dry?

Whatdowedo · 14/08/2016 18:36

I'm just letting them dry naturally
I have a serum that I bought from the salon for extensions
I've just put a 3 min miracle conditioner on
I'm going to leave it for 1 hour and see how it goes
