Long may your back related marvels continue, Stropps.

Listening here to the cacophony of barking dogs, that continued through each night, and the host family ily having a cliched evening meal with lots of shouting and dramatic ex postulation. They're probably discussions good deals at the Carrefour, or similar.

In 'sweat-management' news:

Tits
m&S 'light as air' bra is a marvel. Good fit. (34e) and minimal sweeting! Top marks. Haha. Marks.

Thighs
Mitchum roll on has so far prevented any localised chafing, though I also have in my armies body glide, trusted locally with good results, and Evans comfort shorts, which are truly a place of last resort, as they are vast, sweaty and cut in at the waist.

Lalsy · 03/08/2016 23:09

Stropps Grin. I suspect she would. Glad the miracle continues and you had a lovely relaxed day.

BD, I really hope you get can some time off/away, even if just a little.

Paris mini MU sounds great. As does Paris and near-Rome, especially with no chafing.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/08/2016 23:34

Oooh Stropps, you will be twerking at the net MU at this rate!

Had nice day today - met old Paris friend for lunch before she heads back Down Under, then went to drinks with someone I've known for around 30 years.

Cat is sitting yowling at wall for no apparent reason.

I have Funny Rash under my arm that won't go. Doctors don't seem to know what it is - they just say "Oh that looks odd" and give me steroid cream (which works for a bit and then the rash comes back) or antifungal cream, (which makes it weepy and sore). I have had it for years, and have seen more doctors than I care to think about, but am trapped in the "ooh do we think it is fungal? oooh praps not, let's try the same cream that you had last time/the time before/the time before that and see how you get on."

bigTillyMint · 04/08/2016 03:08

Stropps glad to see you are having a fun time - you deserve it.

Herbs, glad near Rome is a success.

MI, hope you had a good night - have still never been there!

MrsS when are you off to Dreamland?

BD hope you are OK.

Auriga, you sound t9 be on to of things - go you!

Molly, what are you up to?

Well DD and I were on the beach just after 7am Shock in an attempt to catch some rays. Clearly the thing to do! We are partaking of sunbeds, pool and free wifi and the sea and sand of course - hope it lasts!

Collymollypuff · 04/08/2016 03:21

Sounds fab, BTM - enjoy! I've just been reading about the Russell Square attack. Sad Shock I'm unable to sleep as is so often the case. But the dc are home and actually getting on OK. Dd has low expectations of results day and is vaguely planning her gap year, but she is probably/maybe being too pessimistic, who knows? I think it's good that she's ready to be disappointed. Ds is still very much In Love with his gf, and they do indeed make a very good and loving pair. I am still worrying myself into the ground about both dc for various reasons, some of which I've divulged on here, some not. Meanwhile my kitchen is not my own. Dd got her nose pierced and expected me to be angry: I was not. I kept thinking about MI's joy about her nose stud, so I was fully able to admire dd's. Yay, another parenting triumph courtesy of the Crepey massive. Thanks

Collymollypuff · 04/08/2016 03:48

Now reduced to checking out the clothes shop in Henley-on-Thames (of course) where Theresa May gets her power dresses:

www.fluidity-f2.com/sale

Remind you of anybody?

Blackduck · 04/08/2016 07:30

Thank you all for caring - I am very touched. At the minute soldiering on is preferable, but I am keeping all options open. I am trying to take it one day at a time.

Dreamqueen · 04/08/2016 08:00

Herbs I love Bodyglide too. It's great for using on barefeet with slightly tight shoes. I never get any blisters if I remember to use it.

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/08/2016 08:13

Shopping in Henley has changed since my day, when the only options for clothes shopping were Gladys Falloon (you can guess the sort of clothes from the name) and Chloe (with the price tag you might expect).

Today we are doing the London Dungeon and possibly the Eye too.

wordassociationfootball · 04/08/2016 08:37

Another one small glass of wine hangover. seems my occasional use of ameliorating supplements is not the magic answer I thought.

Last day of damp cold hol in damp dark cottage.

Will send girls out gift shoppibg /breakfast having when they get up. Determined to walk as family down beautiful beach and over headland but DD2 will likely kick off aggressively. Please Crepeys any tips on how to frame my request that we do this walk that makes her melt and acquiesce? Her stubborn refusal to do the simplest things has been wearing me right down of late.

Feeling nostalgic for the dozen plus times we've been here. But also hoping this is the last.

Happy to hear of Hatty/Crem meet up.

Cremolafoam · 04/08/2016 08:38

Ooh, must explore bodyglide, as could do with it all over. As Hatty said, tis sweaty et oppressive here and we are heading south today via TGV or Terrifying Gallic Vehicle, as Dh has wont to call it. ( Herbs ds might blow a gasketGrin) I myself am lightly excited by the prospect. It is ' travelling weather' warm and quite possibly about to be wet. We have decided to tell our host that if she is ever putting the flat on the market, we might be interested. Yes, it is that nice.
Monty, hope you have a great break up in the Wuthering Heights. A fully stocked home bar, might be the answer.
Herbs, I think if the Lion Prince is on the prowl today you should come over all lairy and give him a bit of Three Lions behaviour. A few blue drinks for breakfast should do it. I did snort my coffee at the image of him with one foot on a chair.GrinGrin
MI mucho sympathy re floodgate. I used to be a regular buyer of Always Ultra Nightime so I know something about it. SadFlowersFlowers I am glad that your fiend put you mind at rest though, regarding the writing.
Hope you had a delicious dinner for Dh last night.

Cremolafoam · 04/08/2016 08:41

Bribery WAF . Works a treat.

magimedi · 04/08/2016 08:52

Mrs S your rash sounds very like DH's. His is on his right hip & has got sore & weepy. Docs say same thing - fungal/not fungal & nothing has worked. Boipsies have been done & nothing sinister. Trouble is is he sleeps on his right & it is sore so he rolls on to his back & snores. He is throwing £SD at the problem & going to see a dermatologist privately next week. I'll let you know if she has a miracle cure.

Still feels more like autumn here - big flock of Canada Geese went over this am - always a sign that summer is nearly gone.

magimedi · 04/08/2016 08:53

Biopsises - fat fingers!

magimedi · 04/08/2016 08:53

And I still haven't got it right - FFS!!

motherinferior · 04/08/2016 09:06

It's only early August! Summer should be gloriously roasting us! I have put on a frock in hope. Though am packing jeans and socks for hol - DP will take it in the car so that I just zip over c/o Ryanair to join them.

Nice enough meal though have eaten better (bear in mind my bar is vv high for Asian food - sadly so is DP's which means he's the only boyf I could never impress with rice and dal) and excellent cocktails. In gynae news I rose twice in the night but there is hope that the flood is slowing....how wearing, though.

I know when we're at the tail end of summer here, MM, as the quality of light changes: it seems less golden and more white, if you see what I mean. And it's particularly noticeable when we have breakfast in the conservatory.

The nasty rashes sound unpleasant: how odd that two Crepeys/DH have it.

The electrical work in the kitchen is almost done, now we need to get a plasterer in to redo the ceiling, a professional carpet cleaner in for the floors, DH needs to trace the leak on the dishwasher, oh, an oven cleaner person in ... and then we can have a new floor in the kitchen and utility rooms (already scheduled for the last week in October which was the earliest the man could come).

NUFC69 · 04/08/2016 09:45

X post, MI, glad to hear the tsunami is slowing to a flood. Have a lovely holiday in Cork. I think I must be the only person in the UK who doesn't like curries which means that we never go to Indian restaurants and I even have to be careful if we go to a Chinese in a large party, otherwise I discover that a lot of people have chosen things I can't eat. You will now probably tell me that there are lots of things I could eat in an Indian, but I need an expert like you. Grin

Rosebag · 04/08/2016 09:48

waf I have found with reluctant DC and walking, the problem is being dragged away from their devices, and there's always this "hump" to get over before the animosity and bitching melts away. Takes about 20 mins of fresh air and beautiful coastline or other view. I get them out of the flat with the bribery of a decent lunch in a nice pub with wifi. After about 3 miles. I pretend I don't know that they're checking their phones at times when we're walking.

I am at flat with three girls. They're lovely actually but I got terribly tired last night. Feel better today. Will catch up later. Trying to arrange mini MU with beachy. Laters Crepeys xx

motherinferior · 04/08/2016 10:06

ARRRGGGHHHHH. DD2 suddenly points out she left her waterproof rainmac thing on a bus ages ago, and they're off on holiday tomorrow and where can she get a new one....HOW DO I KNOW???? All suggestions valued.

bigTillyMint · 04/08/2016 10:09

Decathlon. But theyll probaby come home with a million things you hadn't realised you needed!

bigTillyMint · 04/08/2016 10:15

Well, I can say with confidence that using suncream that is 2 years old is not a good idea. Likewise spending 8 hours in the sun (of which 3 were when there was a strong breeze) I am a lovely shade of lobster Grin Meanwhile DD who used this year's cream and lay in the sun 3 hours less, is beginning to tan. I haven't burned in years!

I have never heard of Body Glide - what is it?

MI - get one there? T'is Ireland, they are well used to wet weather.

wordassociationfootball · 04/08/2016 10:23

MI Wearabouts? Will double up for school. or surely big Sainsbos.

Thanks Rose and Crem. She seems quite agreeable in theory. WiFi certainly is the modern carrot as it were.

Am determined to get in the sea today. DD1 and I will share my wetsuit. Bet I get second go - bluergh.

Bodyglide sounds great.

Poor you BTM. Can you get any aloe vera?
