Oh and we all actually read on the first flight - DD her further reading book for PS, DS a footy-related book, DH a "what we can learn from the All Black's" book and me...
That how to sort your marriage without talking book Grin

Areoflot BTM! Was told to avoid them years ago and always assumed nothing had changed,...

Herbs I'd stay put Rome will be there another (cooler) time.

I am knackered. Another weekend of not really sleeping, but need to go in as have a meeting I need to go to.

Cremolafoam · 01/08/2016 07:29

Best of luck BD with going in to work today. Would you get something to help you sleep? Just until you get into a routine again.Sometimes I get Phenergan which is OTC anti-histamine which knocks you out.

Herbs, kitten plus pool =blissEnvy

BTM Aeroflot is a bit of a strange one. I got a flight from Shannon ( where Aeroflot refuels for transatlantic runs) to Cuba with them once. There was a very bizarre party attitude on the plane, and we ended up with a bunch of Cuban musicians knocking back Russian vodka at the back of the plane. That was an experience.Absolutely plastered arriving in Havana didn't really help going through passport control into the unknown.

I am up early for no reason at all, except fluttery excited holiday feelings. Grin

bigTillyMint · 01/08/2016 07:31

I know - DH flew with them 20 years ago (the summer after we had met and had both planned hols already) - they seem to have improved since then, but that's not saying a lot! Food was pretty dire, especially the bricks bread and the service was, well, Russian. Not looking forward to the flight home!

Can you go to the meeting and then come home early?

hattymattie · 01/08/2016 07:44

Aeroflot - when I worked for our national broadcaster way back when. I booked the producers on Aeroflot and was asked to change is as "it was a dry airline and the stewardesses were really ugly and rude"

MontserratCaballe · 01/08/2016 08:27

Hello my crepey chums! Sorry I haven't caught up. All a bit of a nightmare here - busy with work, redundant dh, summer hols, day trips etc etc. I will try to catch up soon but hope you are all well and happy.

Sending love to all (and huge hugs to BD and anyone else who wants or needs). Xxx

motherinferior · 01/08/2016 09:49

Ooh, I say look what I found a reference to online....

bigTillyMint · 01/08/2016 09:54

Hatty, it's not dry now, but the trolley dollies haven't changed!

Monto, sorry to hear your DH is redundant. Or is that a good thing?

We have been out for lunch - huge bowl of chicken noodle soup with fresh herbs for £1 (and DS enjoyed it!) then the DC came back for a snooze whilst DH and I got lost had a walk round. It is very humid here - had 2 showers already Grin

Stropperella · 01/08/2016 09:58

Any prospects on the horizon for your dh, Monty? I love your daytrip pics on Fb, your dcs are gorgeous.

Oh Herbs, your holiday accommodation sounds and looks sumptuous. Have the bestest time. Bah to the kitties, though Grin

Hope Vietnam lives up to your expectations, BTM. Have a fab time, but don't be going on any of those little scootery things!

Aeroflot - gah, never again, not after a flight to Moscow in 1986 which was so ghastly people were praying loudly and screaming for about 40 mins of it. Am surprised I ever flew again, really.

Crem, hope you are feeling somewhat restored. Wishing you lovely, lovely hols.

Re: my knackeredness - it's not the prescription anti-inflamms, as I've been on and off the same ones since Feb last year. I think my body was highly unamused by the morphine diazepam combo, as Rose suggests, and my bod doesn't know what to do with itself after bracing against the extreme pain, plus I am feeling highly anxious about it happening again. Plus, dd's anxiety-driven odd behaviour is not conducive to family harmony and I am finding it hard to keep the peace between her and dh.

Proofreading work today. I would rather go back to sleep. Although I did have a terrible dream last night about going on holiday to Italy and being stuck on the 3rd floor of a rickety wooden house during an earthquake because someone had stolen the stairs. Hmm

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/08/2016 10:30

I flew with Aeroflot back in the 80s, and it certainly wasn't dry then - they flung two miniatures of vodka at everyone with their dry bread and sausage meal. I think they have improved, in that they have newer, western, planes now, but doubt the service is all that. DD1 flew with Aeroflot to Moscow, and it was crazily cheap - just over £100 return.

I am on leave this week, and unfortunately so is DH. We have already had one row this morning about the state of the kitchen. DD2's friend arrives into all of this peace, love and harmony tomorrow evening. DD2 and DH are winding each other up and there is even more shouting.

motherinferior · 01/08/2016 10:58

I have rashly agreed to use up some salmon that Needs Eating Up in another curry tonight. It's actually very easy. I woke up in a frenzy about how much work I have to do but am not managing to get through much, as usual....

bigTillyMint · 01/08/2016 11:26

Sorry to hear that Stropps. And everyone else with tricky teens!
We are on a knife-edge here as we are so tired after the flights. At least the DC are sharing a room 2 floors below us! It is also very thunderstormy here. And the beach place we are going to next has a very similar forecast for the next few days although they aren't supposed to get the rains till September. The DC want to sunbathe SadConfused

wordassociationfootball · 01/08/2016 11:36

Just cackled loudly in Tenby tearoom re BTM reading 'my' marriage book on the plane. I read it under cover of darkness. Were you trying to give him a non-talking hint?

dd1 and I are taking advantage of the WiFi in a cafe. They are playing an Ibiza chill out album for the enjoyment of the mostly 70 something crowd. It has stopped raining. Yearning for a villa pool and kittens. Meeting dhs BRI and fam in a min for a wander and lunch.

Yearning for new holiday horizons but planning to be Rose like and find the beauty in everyone and everything.

bigTillyMint · 01/08/2016 11:44

WAF, both the DC were like Confused and DH was Grin but I reckon DD would be really interested in what it has to say as her bf is very similar to DH - given her interest in Psychology and Sociology!

You are all probably having better weather than me!

Blackduck · 01/08/2016 11:54

I think I need some time off, the problem is that would leave my poor admin on her own as the other member of the team is on leave..... If I can get to Thursday that would be good.

Herbs can you send linky of your wonderful place please!

magimedi · 01/08/2016 12:04

BD - This is where Herbs is - she posted it a few pages back.

Looks A M A Z I N G.

Should we hire it for a crepey holiday?

bigTillyMint · 01/08/2016 12:08

BD, if you need the time, take it. They will manage albeit not as well as if you were there Smile

MM it looks perfect for a Crepey hol!

Stropperella · 01/08/2016 12:23

BD, don't be a hero. Take the time. They'll manage, and even if it all goes a bit wonky, it's not the end of the world. Your well-being should come first right now.

BTM, soz to hear about the wetness. But doesn't the rain suddenly dry up and then you get sticky sun for a few hours?

NU, sorry I missed sending you congrats on your anniversary. Flowers

MrsS, I could possibly cheer you up by posting a pic of the gross state of dd's room. However, if it was ever traced back to me, I would be dead meat on a stick. Also, she is still lying in it at the moment. I seriously have no clue how anyone can sleep in a bed containing a large variety of clothes, both clean and dirty, piles of magazines, sweet papers, dirty plates and several electronic devices, including a large laptop. Even Stropdog now doesn't bother trying to get in her bed, as he can't find a comfortable spot any more (comes into our room and gets in his own bed instead).

Rosebag · 01/08/2016 12:34

She will cope BD. Put the oxygen mask on yourself before any dependent person... Flowers

It'll calm down Tilly There's nothing like tiredness/jet lag to set everyone off, on arrival. I do hope the weather improves. Maybe concentrate on getting some rest/sleep and good food with a bit of gentle sight seeing until the rain passes? Family holidays eh?

Stropps Flowers

I am waiting for a new gardener to come and meet my garden aka The Jungle as it is at the moment, on account of it taking me years to fire the current totally useless gardener who is lovely Mellors-esque eye candy but sadly, knows bugger all about plants. I have seen a client this morning which has lifted the mood a bit after last weeks cancellations. DD has gone off to see Finding Dory with her friends, and I am a bit Envy as (shhhh).. I would like to see it... Hmm. DS2 is still in Berlin and as I haven't heard a whisper recently I assume he and his manky toe are both fine.

Rosebag · 01/08/2016 13:20

I am killing time and have ordered this in the Bravissimo sale

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/08/2016 13:55

Stropps -snap! Even the cat won't go in there.

motherinferior · 01/08/2016 14:03

Oh Rose, so glad you're cheering up and have bought swimwear.

BD, PLEASE TAKE THE WHOLE WEEK OFF. Everyone will understand, really they will.

I have belatedly realised DD1's boyf is son of Big Cheese in music industry because I googled him shamelessly.

We are a bit delayed, but our airb&b host is standing by with rose wine to welcome us.Grin
