Looking for comfy laceless trainers please

I've lived in Gola suede trainers (very 90s I know Grin) for years, followed by Converse.

The laces are a pain though as my shoes are on and off all day, and they come undone quite a bit too.

So... I'm looking at laceless trainers. However lots of them look like they have thin soles and wouldn't be very comfy - I'd really like some which are properly padded inside iykwim. And I'm not a fan of a huge wodge of white plastic round the sole (flatforms?) Neutral colours preferred.

Can anyone point me to some which might fit the bill? As you can probably tell I'm more about comfort than fashion Smile

I don't understand the lace thing though. If you do a tight double bow they stay laced (mine for years Grin)

They had some fab ones in Aldi a couple of weeks ago - billed as 'walking shoes' but def trainers rather than walking boots. They have elastic laces so can adjust but don't have to do up and unlace all the time.

I know MiddleClass I could do a double bow but then it would be a pain every time I take my shoes on and off - which is a lot.

Paulat they look interesting, I'd never heard of them! If they work that would open up more options definitely.

Skechers go walk do fit the bill (are they comfy?) but can't get excited about the way they look

But how do you get your shoes on and off? Or do you just have them really loose - I like my shoes to fit snugly.

Depends on the day? But I guess they are loose although have never fallen off, I even do it with trainers I used to kick the punch bag with at the gym...

Sketchers go walk aren't pretty but they've ruined me for any other shoes. I managed 5 hours shopping in them the other day and I've got PF!!

Sketchers go walk are amazingly comfy. I have silvery grey ones, I don't think they're that ugly!

Think you may have persuaded me on the Skechers. I will see if I can find a shop to try them on. They're not ugly just a bit too much like something my mum would wear - but she dresses well so that's not a criticism just an association!

I have some laceless plimsolls from Victoria Plimsolls. They come in loads of colours, I wear mine all the time and they wash well too.

I agree with Hopping. Once you have worn Sketchers Go Walk nothing else is as comfortable. I would prefer it if they looked nicer but their comfort superceded looks for me.

Oh just seen the Go walk 2 which I much prefer to the Go walk 3. (unfortunately a bit harder to find the 2 I guess it's been discontinued).

Quite like the look of these what do you all think?

Also - do they come up true to size? I am between a 4.5 and a 5 and not sure which size to get. I have normal to wide feet but narrow heels.

Snoop those Victoria ones were my first thought but are they comfy - the soles look very flat and thin?

They are large. I usually take a 6, but I wear a 5 in Go Walks. I would try a 4 as well.

Another vote here for Skechers Go Walk. I bought some a couple of months ago as I've had shoulder surgery and needed shoes that were easy to take on and off without using hands. They are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I walk 5 or 6 miles per day with school run and other things, and they were perfect from day 1. I bought go walk 2 rather than 3 as I also liked them better. There's loads on sale in the shops at the moment. I saw a huge display in John Lewis today.

Agree with Nickname. I usually take a 6 in trainers, but my go walks are a 5.

Another vote for Skechers Go Walks. I walked my legs off around Disneyland for 4 days and I still felt like I was walking on air.
They are amazing.
I've got the grey with aqua trim but like the black/pink too.

Wearing them is like walking on cushions. I shall be taking a couple of pairs to Florida.

I'm sure they are wonderfully comfy, but LOOK at them... I just couldn't bring myself to wear them. Sorry.

Actually I think the earlier versions are ok. It's the later versions that look more... erm...
