Title can refer either to our upcoming holidays, or our upcoming fleeing from the Bojo-led charabanc of doom.

Oh Addle, it's true crap isn't it.
My post last night wasn't terrible (imo). I suggested that the op's parents had wasted their money on her education as she was clearly spectacularly ill informed and ignorant.
I'm knee deep in a slanging match over here at the moment. I need to step away and do something else, it's just making me (more) furious.

Lalsy · 25/06/2016 22:05

If you can bear it, GGG, don't step away. Let's stand and fight this one - there may still be a way out the other side. It is clear we have been lied to and manipulated and the result has no legal status. This is not a single-question issue and should never have been framed as one, particularly by people with no plan, no policy, no coherent political objectives (uniting people who want a tiny, privatised state and those who want a large, socialist one). Their silence is telling.

The people I know who voted Leave ( a small sample, thank goodness, as I am not on a forgiving mood) have no idea how complicated this will be, no idea how government works, no idea what civil servants do (but Brussels pensions was a major factor for one of them) and so on. They are not little Englanders (travel widely, work internationally etc), but they were not given the facts. They are probably atypical, but they exist.

My dm voted Remain and is horrified.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 25/06/2016 22:20

Wise words Lalsy. I'm watching the fabulous Adele at Glasto on tv at the moment... but I'll head back to the fray later maybe.

Lalsy · 25/06/2016 22:33

Oh yes, Celebrity Masterchef and a martini for me. Have we all signed the petition? - can do no harm, IMO, to show strength of numbers.

herbaceous · 25/06/2016 23:13

Sterling work on that thread GGG. Fuckwits.

Watching Adele, also. She's looking good, but I wish she wouldn't dial up the cockney so. She only spent the first 10 seconds, or so, of her life in Tottenham but mentions it every few minutes.

I'm so bushed. Have had hideous headache all day, over one eye and into my mouth. Think it's prob me regular hormonal one, exacerbated by horrible cold and hangover.

In positive news, I've nearly finished the wardrobe.

Lalsy, no railway museum AFAIK, but I know where you mean nowWink

Must watch Adele on catch-up (didn't she live in Brixton and go to the Brit?) - we went out to meet friends for dinner and then on to a party. DD ended up joining us as there was some sort of mix-up/fall-out about getting to the party she was meant to be going toConfusedHmm

Everyone at the party had voted Remain and we had a long discussion with some 18-20yo's about the whole debarcle. At least it seems to have got a whole generation interested in politics

Lalsy · 26/06/2016 10:21

BTM Smile. He went to what I think was your old uni on Thursday with a friend. Think that is it for us. Yesterday's lot were limbering up to renegotiate/replace ERASMUS, years abroad, exchanges etc.....

motherinferior · 26/06/2016 10:23

In other news I sang in a reasonable concert and DD2 went to Pride with her mates and came back with a rainbow flag looking v chuffed according to her dad, who came to our concert a major sacrifice as he has cloth ears.

I am knackered and must finish reading a quite dreadful novel I am reviewing for an Indian mag. Have no idea how I will be paid.

My 75yo aunt also appalled by result but then she is a nun who spent most of her life in France Shock

Cremo · 26/06/2016 12:26

Lalsy can you link to the petition please?

Go GGGGrin splendid fighting talk.

Tis a rainy wet and grey day here today. I have umpteen jobs to get done, but Dh has suggested the cinema followed by dinner of some sort. I can't refuse really.Grin
CV that's a gorgeous jumpsuit and you will look fantastic in it, you lucky thing.Envy

In S&B news I scored an LK Bennet number in silk at a Next outlet shop. Some kind of catalogue return.
Whoop! Shall wear to birthday dinner I thinkWink

bigTillyMint · 26/06/2016 12:30

Yes the jumpsuit will look great on you CV.

Cremo, LK Bennett bargain sounds fab! And the cinema+food.

I am feeling knackered but going for a walk with a friend later

Lalsy · 26/06/2016 13:26

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215

Glad to hear some good S and B news, Crem and CV. I have just taken delivery of a half price linen dress from John Lewis that looks a bit like a sack but I quite like it.www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-gauzy-linen-dress/p2557492?imageCount=6 Never worn dresses much so starting cautiously!

Cremo · 26/06/2016 14:17

Thanks Lalsy. That dress is lovely , and a bargain too. I'd get it myself , except really don't want to frighten the general public with my top-arms.Shockor my boots-arms either for that matter.Grin

Lalsy · 26/06/2016 14:31

Ooooh good, thanks. My upper arms scary, but I don't care who I scare just the the moment. Smile

magimedi · 26/06/2016 15:20

Lovely dress.

Am pleased to report that PFGD has just said her first word (apart from Mamma, Pappa & no) & that it was in French!! Granny's darling is no Little Englander Grin

Lalsy · 26/06/2016 15:37

Oh Magi, how lovely! Grin

magimedi · 26/06/2016 15:39

DS is in the process of taking out French citizenship - he started a while ago but it takes time. I don't blame him - am spending some time looking at French property atm.

Auriga · 26/06/2016 16:15

Now the PLP is imploding Sad Angry

We've managed to steady ourselves a bit. We had a little birthday celebration in the back garden with the neighbours on Friday, watching DD entertaining their toddlers while we sipped champagne. But I feel sad that the healing effects of our anniversary party the week before have been all but blotted out.

Between me, DD and DH we have six concerts in the next 12 days, so that may help Grin

bigTillyMint · 26/06/2016 17:25

Ooh Magi, was it Non?Grin

Lovely dress Lalsy, but it would be a mini on me, so scary arms and even scarier legsGrin

I have hidden all the politics threads - tis too distressing.

magimedi · 26/06/2016 17:42

Non!!

I can't say as it would be a bit too identifying if DIL is ever here!

Lalsy · 26/06/2016 17:53

Auriga, has to happen I think - a GE could be round the corner.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/06/2016 18:49

I've been speaking with a friend about Brexit. He is vvvv well connected and said that Boris is shocked and gutted that it went this way as it wasn't on his game plan. So what next? It will take more than two years to sort it all out, so the longer we leave it to invoke Article 50, the better. Not sure where we are going to get all of these experienced lawyers and trade negotiators from, either. Particularly the trade negotiators. He thinks Theresa May will be next PM - Boris has damaged himself too much with all this. Well, he doesn't have a crystal ball, so we'll see.

Crepeys, I have been sent the log in for DD1's IB result (she only did one exam this year) the week after next. Shall I do it, or wait for her to come back from her school trip? She can log in herself and get it, if she is somewhere where they have computers, and said she will try to do so.

motherinferior · 26/06/2016 19:02

I think get her to do it. She needs to take responsibility.

I suggested I make supper (DP made lunch). Apparently I make tuna/cannelini bean/red onion salad "much better than he does"...remind me of this next time I'm swanking around about division of domestic labour HmmShock

Lalsy · 26/06/2016 19:13

MrsS, does she want you to? And will she have a mob signal so you can tell her? I would ask her what she wants and do that.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/06/2016 19:40

She has no mobile with her - she may be able to find out and log on if they are somewhere that has computers/wifi - they are somewhere very remote and primitive. So the chances are, she won't be able to find out until she gets back. She should have done really well in it, and it will be a huge boost for her if she does. I think I will leave her to find out, even if it means logging on when she gets home. If she has cocked it up, I don't want to be there knowing while she logs on...

My mother apparently tells all of my relatives that she "never hears from me" and I "never call her." Quite tempted to make that reality...

bigTillyMint · 26/06/2016 19:50

Am loving ELO at Glastonbury - I had forgotten how much I loved them in the seventiesSmile They are doing a great set!

I agree with the others, MrsS - she must take responsibility though it would kill me to have to wait so leave it up to her.
And I hope your rellies don't believe your DM!
