I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Herbs - will be fab to have lots of time en famille in the summer but eek re new job on horizon.

Inspired by CV and Rose I have put 10 things on Ebay. They range from size 10 to 16. WTF.

Hatty you and me both. I still don't really drink any more tbh. But may make a special effort on my birthday.
We can plunder the virgin cocktail menu Hatty as required.Smile sorry about dd btw. Thats miserable for her.
Tlc and plenty of hugs.

Aw NU love to meet you sometime, so that would be brilliant.

There are 4 supercars parked beyond our hedge for a Fathers Day celebration event. The revving is actually making our house shake.ConfusedSad

Rosebag · 19/06/2016 12:56

I am not enjoying Facebook today Sad Anyway....

hatty So sorry to hear that DD feels down about her results. Sad Will you be able to see her soon for support and cuddles? Flowers

Open Days...with DS2 a mixture of one of us going with, and him going to some of them with a friend. If memory serves it was the same with DS1 though with the ones that he went to on his own... I always had the suspicion he never got there and pissed off somewhere else, and pretended to me that he'd been Blush Grin

Hello Rudy How are you doing?

I wonder where are MM, DQ... and is Monty having a nice time in sunnier climes?

Herbs Do not, repeat, not, work for those pathetic rates. Presumably some parents are offering such insulting rates (£7/ph...really?) because they've heard someone, somewhere is in fact, working for them? Having said that, it does seem a bit unjust that Home Ed parents don't get the capitation that would otherwise be spent on their DC if they were to go to school, but then, neither of course, do parents who choose private education...

Rates around here for private tutoring are £45, no questions asked. 6th formers charge around half that. There's quite a market for online home ed tutoring, I understand...maybe worth some research? Also isn't there a forum somewhere on here for Home Ed...? Maybe useful for getting info?

Anyway, delighted you've booked a holiday, Herbs Smile

Yesterday went by in a whirl. Went well at the barmitzvah although the poor, sweet boy cried during his speech. I think it's all very emotional between the parents who are now divorced but a lot hasn't been settled. When DH and I got back, on the spur of the moment we decided to get tickets and go and see ConS's show. It was a looooong way but well worth it, lots of lovely live music and dancing...and certainly put a smile on my face which not much has achieved lately. ConS seems dead chuffed that we'd made the effort.

OK. 2 (ii,two) more days to go. Hanging on. Just.

I'm taking refuge indoors while DH and DS noisily demolish our tumble-down shed, which is proving surprisingly resistant considering its decrepit state. I am on call for the Tip Trip.

DS learned a valuable life lesson - when you are cutting down a massive bramble, don't sit underneath it. Grin I had to rescue him, shrieking pathetically, with my secateurs.

bigTillyMint · 19/06/2016 14:02

Just quizzed DD - lots of students with parents and some with mates. She couldn't see why you would go with a patent as you wouldn't be with them if you actually studied there Grin

CVShockGrin

DH has just text that the footy is running late and won't finish before 7. So won't be back till 8. DD is knackered and grumpy - maybe a takeaway would be better!

Blackduck · 19/06/2016 14:11

CV oh dear.......

BTM exactly re parents - dp said you can get some real helicopter types and you think 'but they are going to be doing the degree not you!'

Rose sorry :(

Dp is somewhere between Stockholm and here so Father's Day is on hold.....

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/06/2016 15:16

Excellent. I might do Aberystwyth, but for the weekend, not for the uni trip.

hattymattie · 19/06/2016 16:11

Rose - thinking of you xx.

CV - ouch - a life lesson learned.

We have walked down to look at the floodplain now the waters have retreated. Lots of dead fish or enormous size that I wouldn't have imagined to be in the Seine.

Cremo · 19/06/2016 16:50

Yes, dd and I went to Cambridge when she had had an offer at Clare, but mainly because I was curious about the set up. Dd marched off on her own and I spent a joyous hour in JL.
We also , of course did ou 3 uni trip to Scotland en voiture, but dd did the university tour bit herself while we noodled about trying to imagine her being there and looking at the accommodation options. Clearly this was ultimately fruitful.

Turning out the airing cupboard and wardrobes today as it's bucketing outside.I am mildly pissed off, but don't know why. Hormones??

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/06/2016 17:10

Crem - I have been veering today between cross and tearful - don't know why. Weather? Hormones? I am also feeling physically exhausted. I have so much work next week. I should have done some this weekend, but have been too tired to do much at all, so will have to go in early tomorrow. We are hopefully getting at least one new team member in September, but no idea what is happening about the other one. We haven't been able to attract any interest in the job and we can't advertise it externally either. They may or may not let us advertise it externally, and if they do, it will most likely be January before we get a new bum on the seat.

Off to the school shortly, to drop DD1 off for her month long trip. Eeek.

Blackduck · 19/06/2016 17:22

Budge up on the mildly cross bench...... Feeling that way too....

hattymattie · 19/06/2016 17:32

Me too - are we in synch ladies? Grin

hattymattie · 19/06/2016 17:33

in sync!

bigTillyMint · 19/06/2016 17:41

Rudy, see your point - think is more to do with how you behave when you get there! Dp has parents who take over and the applicant can't get a word in edge ways - doesn't bode well!

bigTillyMint · 19/06/2016 18:15

BD, I can well imagine that!

Rudy, I can see why giving a lift would be way easier for you!

Happy First Day of Summer, Crepeys! Allegedly summer. Looks like November here.

hattymattie · 20/06/2016 07:05

Yup - November in Paris as well although warmer times are forecast.

Dropped DD2 off at 7.15 for her bac in Maths today. Please God give her the bits she can do rather than complex numbers which she finds ... complex.

NUFC69 · 20/06/2016 07:30

Good luck to DD2, Hatty. How is DD1 doing now?

Well it's grey here, too, but a bit warmer so that's a bit of a win. We're driving the two cars down to Worksop today so that DH can get his gearbox sorted. It will take 7 - 10 days; at least DH has said that he will catch the train down (at least two changes) to get it back. If we're early enough coming back we're going to stop at the rather nice Crown Inn in a village near Boroughbridge for lunch. We found it last year when we took our American visitors to York, and the food was lovely.

Happy (or not) Monday.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 20/06/2016 07:31

My dh did a lovely thing this morning in the pouring rain. He noticed I'd left my thermos of coffee on the side and drove down to the station to give it to me before my train left... Aaaaah Star

motherinferior · 20/06/2016 08:13

Too darn wet for a Ladyjog (I've done four a week for the past fortnight). So I must hit the desk while not properly awake. Happy solstice!

addle · 20/06/2016 08:34

Good luck to dd2, Hattie.
And that is really nice of mr Beachy
At this end dh sustained a nasty football injury on Saturday and is in hospital in w London until at least wed, dd is over sharing her feelings about new venture and ds has v quietly split up with gf. Am beyond knackered but work v busy and we're being 'restructured'.
And dh texted me at 5.30 this morning to let me know he'ld managed to pee (op yesterday).

bigTillyMint · 20/06/2016 08:42

Oh god Addle - sounds like the time DH dislocated his knee playing footy and was taken to a hospital in deepest Essex which might have been the moon at the time as the DC were 4 and 6. He was on a ward with a load of geriatric women who thought he was a famous footballerGrin

Aww to your DH, Beachy.

Trip out sounds lovely, NU - so looking forward to my retirement!

I am also beyond knackered, having only slept for about 4 hours - DHAngry
