It's really unusual in this country for salons to remove hard skin with a peeler or blade like that (or at least it is everywhere I've ever been). I've had it in Thailand but only there.

If the blade wasn't sterilised, I'm afraid I would want to go to hospital to get it looked at.

I would also be making a serious complaint to the salon. If they are so incompetent that they leave you with a serious cut and just go 'oops' then there is something wrong.

wavingnow · 14/05/2016 23:49

Tell me you are not in UK!

Lndnmummy · 14/05/2016 23:54

Yes in the uk. Lesson learned. Please be warned.
Dont let anyone use a blade on your foot like that. I should have known better. I was just caught up in the moment of me time and having a treat. Sad

Anyway,
Tmrw is a new day,
Hopefully will feel better

Easy to get caught up in moment. I woulgo back with photographic evidence or better still environmental health department, or trade practices of locl council they shouldn't be operating like that.

TSSDNCOP · 15/05/2016 09:50

So the next person after you would likely have their feet soaked in a bucket that had just contained bloody water. As might you if "oops" is the stock answer to an injury

I'm glad you got it treated and it's a real shame your weekend has been spoiled but honestly OP anything less than a call to the council and you'll be doing yourself a bigger injustice. Frankly the salon should be expecting to call their insurer pronto on Monday morning.

TSSDNCOP · 15/05/2016 09:51

Did they get the accident book out OP?

DerelictMyBalls · 15/05/2016 10:03

You poor thing, OP. I hope you didn't pay!

Lndnmummy · 15/05/2016 10:16

I will report them, of course I will. No there was no accident book. A lady who followed me to the pharmacy gave her details as she heard them saying it was the 3rd time it happendSad.

Blimey they're in for the mother of all shitstorms OP.

Unsanitary conditions, dangerous practice and no accident procedures. They're the sort of business that makes PLI go through the roof for everyone else.

I'm the least litigious person but I'd also be on the phone to the council and a solicitor first thing on Monday.

TheRollingCrone · 16/05/2016 09:01

How do you feel today Lndn ?. Hope you,ve had plenty of feet up with Brew Cake

NationMcKinley · 16/05/2016 09:06

Bloody hell. That looks incredibly painful. I'm pretty laid back, non "ambulance chaser" kind of person iykwim but I would absolutely be taking that further especially in light of the other person saying it was the 3rd time it had happened.

The pedicurist (is this even a word?) needs some serious retraining.

Flowers for you OP.
